Daily check-in Mon 27 March

Cathlete
Gooood morning all,

Summertime means the clock has gone forward by an hour. So what was 6AM on Saturday, suddenly is 7AM on Sunday. My body can't take this change.

My rythm is totally off, I can't get up in the morning, like today. Alarm went of at 5AM as usual, but I just couldn't get up, I mean, for my body it was 4AM. Way too early. It usually takes me a whole week to adjust. GRRRRR

It's 11:32 AM and I'm so sleepy x( And I'm definitely not my usual cheery self.

Anyways, this morning I did not get up at 5AM (which to me still feels like 4AM). So I'll have to do my GS w/o that I planned for today this evening after my spinning class.

Has anyone ever done the Les Mills BodyBalance class? They offer it at my new gym, it's a mix of Pilates, Poweryoga and Tai Chi. I'm just curious how it compares to yoga.

Have a great day everyone,

Good morning Dutchie.... I feel your pain!!! The US "springs" forward next Sunday, April 2. I love the longer days but I HATE the first few weeks, it totally throws off my body rhythms too. "Falling back" in the fall is sooo much easier!!

Yesterday was a great w/o for me. PS Legs and shoulders and hi/lo with w/u and c/d from SJP.

Today is a rest day with a stretch, probably the one from FitTV with Michelle LeMay.

Tomorrow is Viper Day!! Woo hoo, already pumped for that w/o, my favorite of the Terminators.

Morning Dutchie and Jane!

Jane - thanks for posting that. Dutchie's post made me panic about when our time changes! I hate losing that hourx(

Dutchie, sorry to hear your body clock is "off". Which GS are you doing?

Jane - Enjoy your rest and stretch today:)

Even though my weekend was super busy, I did manage to get good workouts in. Friday was Powerstrike II and Coremax 2. Then dancing for about 3 hours straight:) Saturday was ME upper body split. Yesterday was Powerstrike I.

Today will be GS Chest and Tris and some corework.

Happy Wonderfulday, everyone!

Morning ladies. Well, I didn't get my 40 minute run in after IMAX 3 yesterday. DD got sick and was throwing up all night at Grandma's house Saturday, so they brought her home early Sunday. I had to do my workout while she was taking her nap. So, I ended up doing IMAX 3 followed by the first 5 intervals of IMAX 2. Adult night out Saturday was fun, but we didn't get home until midnight and didn't go to bed until closer to 1:00, so it kind of messed up my whole sleeping schedule. I'm used to going to bed at 9:30! DD was doing much better last night and was holding down food, so I think she just had a little stomach bug, or Grandma just fed her too much junk. She doesn't get all the junk food at home that I'm sure she does at Grandma's house.
This morning was BC, but for some reason I feel like I didn't get that great of a workout. I didn't even really sweat that much. I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

Hope everyone has a great Monday!

Katie

Good morning everyone,

Hope you all had a nice weekend, I forgot we were changing the clocks so soon!x(

Anyways, today was Imax 2 and CW abs. Great workout, this Imax is definitely my favorite!

Have a good one.

Good Morning Fit Chicks!

I'm taking an unscheduled rest day today...the good news is that I got an extra hour of sleep.

Hello to all that follow....have a great day!

Good morning, everyone!

The weekend is over. Probably that's a good thing for me - yesterday I lost a contact lens, wrenched me knee and broke off a lovely iris that was just getting ready to bloom. I should have stayed inside all day. Oh well.

Today will be Kick Max - not sure if I'll do the leg drills at the end or not. It all depends on time.

Dutchie - I don't like the time change either! I wish they'd just keep it on normal time... I love it when it's so light in the morning, but now it'll be dark again.

Jane - enjoy your stretch!

Shelley - hope you had a good weekend with LunaCat - have a good weight workout!

Katie - I know what you mean about BC - I think it's because you have so much time to get your breath back, especially during abs.

Connie - I love Imax 2, too! I think everyone does.

Hi Fit Friends!!

How can it be Monday already!!???
The weekend went by waaaaaay too quickly!

Anyway, this morning I did The Viper (thank you Jane- I THINK, for the idea;) )
I love that one but forget how it almost KILLS me !:p }(

I'm taking a short break and will do C&W abs and then will drag myself to the shower in hopes that it will revive me!!
I also will reward myself with a yummy fruit protein smoothie.:9

It's going to be almost 60 degrees here after a cold weekend with on and off SNOW, so I'm a happy camper!!!

Have a good one everybody!!!

:D

Daily check-in

Good morning! I am running late, so this will be quick. I did the first segment of Total Body Stretching last night. I did Kick, Punch, & Crunch this morning. I love this workout! I am still amazed by Cathe and her crew when they do those pikes on the stability ball. I cannot imagine doing one of those, but I will keep dreaming. Have a great day!

Blessings,
Heather B.

RE: Daily check-in

Hey there lovlies!:*

Okay, I am switching gears this week and will do a week of the Slim Series w/some cardio every day. Today is Firm It Up (leg killer). Not sure what the cardio will be...depends on if I feel like venturing out to the gym today. I want to go to a spin class tomorrow so I may stay home and do step or something...we'll see.

Carole-that one dog...the wolf-cross...holy cow, if I didn't know better I'd say you actually had a wolf as a pet! BEATIFUL animal!!!:)

RE: Daily check-in

How are those Slim Series workouts Wendy? More light weight toning?

My wolf was a bit different, but actually very friendly. I think he was about half wolf but he did intimidate some people. I definitely wanted to keep him in my yard...:)...

RE: Daily check-in

Hi Carole...the slim series is low wait/high rep and not a lot of cardio IMO so that is why I am adding in my own. It's a good change once in a while. I am going to alternate that with Cathe's March 06 Strength rotation. Should be interesting. :)

My DH would have LOVED that dog. He is fond of wolves. They are one of his favorite animals! He also loves elephants. :)

RE: Daily check-in

Wendy..change in workouts is always good for you. I think alternating with a strength rotation should be fun! WOW, I never knew someone that really liked elephants...that is cute...:)

RE: Daily check-in

Hey Wendy!

I am doing the same thing as you are. I have started to go back to the SS at least once a week in this March rotation. I am really starting to think about dropping my poundage on my Cathe's also, I bulk up so easy, and the SS really leaned me out when I was more faithful to it. So I may apply that to Cathe's stuff as well. I think PUB is on tap for tomorrow and I may go down to 5-8-10, or 8-10-12, instead of using the heavy weights ( my 15 and 20's). What do you think?

Hi everyone,

Just popping in to say that I'm taking a rest day. I finished Cathe's November '05 rotation yesterday, and feel like I need a day to regroup before starting something new. I'm really stymied about planning my workouts for the next little bit. I'm feeling very unmotivated and burnt out. Given all the demands on my time right now, it's very tempting to drop the workouts, especially since my attempts at losing this baby weight are not working. Argh.

I agree with everyone who dreads the spring time change. It's hard to lose an hour of sleep. I loved waking up this morning to bright sunshine bursting behind my curtains.

Have a good day!
Sandra

Holy cow, Conni! You lift 15's and 20's for PUB!? Man you are strong! I haven't done PUB in quite some time but the last I did it, my heaviest for back was 15, chest and tris 12, biceps 10 and shoulders 8. Hopefully I can increase the poundage a little on a couple of things this time around. I don't even OWN 20# DB's! LOL I should consider them though as my back is actually pretty strong and I could probably handle it for that...I THINK! LOL

I think there is something to be said for both heavy and light lifting. I do both for my upper body. If I were you, I would think dropping the weight for a while would be a nice change for the muscles. Then in a month or 2, go back to heavy and keep alternating and see what happens.

Personally, for my my lower body I have been sticking to very light (8# DB's) or no weight because that is where I bulk up the most and I don't want big legs wether it's all muscle or not. Maybe for the strength rotation I will go heavy on lower body once per week but only for this rotation. If I do it too long I'll be sorry. I want some strength but not size.:)

ETA: I don't have Pure Strength or Slow and Heavy so I am debating weather or not to order one of them now so I can include it in my rotation. I don't truly want both...not right now anyway. I read somewhere that the GS series is like an updated Pure Strength so I was leaning towards S&H if I decide to purchase something.
