Daily Check-in May 28

Wow, hard to believe that May is winding down this week. I'm off to a 2 day conference on 'Ethics, Boundries and Professional Relationships' this morning so I'm won't get my nice long Sunday workout today. I'll finish my coffee and do 45 minutes yoga/pilates. Hopefully I'll get a walk in after supper or a good jumping session on the trampoline.

Carole, I like it that you thought of me when you got your massage:) That's wonderful that they are so beneficial to you and your bionic legs;-)

Jill, I gave Faith the high five you asked me to and she thought that was pretty awesome, almost like she was famous:D

Tammy, Faith's wrist is getting better, she's been very good for icing it and doing pain free range of motion, she even played some piano yesterday. At 11 they have lots of free bounces left in them:)

Have a lovely Sunday everyone!

Take Care
Laurie:)

Hello Laurie and all to follow:

Hope everyone is well and has good workouts or enjoyable rest days if that is today's plan.

I did KPC last night just love that one. I woke up early for me on a Sunday (yesterday slept til 9:30- it was lovely!). Today is either GS or S&H. I want to get my definition back.

They gut my kitchen this week ... so lots of packing up today. My son got something in the mail from the HS that he is going to get an award, with all he has been through that would be so great. Busy week, football planning, track end of year, awards ceremony, house work, SATs. Pray for a good week and no issues. My DD is back on WW and lost 3 lbs her 1st week. Hooray.

Have a good workout everyone!

Laurie - have a good conference and enjoy the coffee (I'm having mine now! - and the pilates/yoga workout)

Good morning fit ladies

Laurie...enjoy yoga/pilates today. I just started doing some Pilates and I do like it...:)

I'll be seeing if these legs can carry me for a 20 mile run today!!

Have a great day...:)

Good morning Laurie, Robyn, Carole and all my other fitness buddies!

I also am enjoying a cup of joe and preparing myself mentally for Bootcamp. It's 8:45 and the whole house is still asleep, so I need to get to it before they rise.

Robyn, are you having your kitchen redone? That's awesome for you. I had mine done about a year ago and I love it. So, the memories of having all my didhes and stuff in the dining room and playroom are still vivid. Sometimes, it was tough even finding a spoon!

Good Morning Fitness Friends!!

Yep...another rest day for me...but a busy one. Having my coffee too! We're opening our pool and tiding up the house because on the 10th, we have our whole office over! That's a ton of people! Laurie, I'm glad to hear Faith is coming along. Kids are truly amazing. They really do bounce so fast!
Robyn....sounds like you have an exciting week ahead! Good Luck with that kitchen!
Carole...20 miles!! Go For It!
Phyllis...good luck with BootCamp...I always need a lot of mental preparation for that too.
Tomorrow, I continue with the HardCore Series... I have MM. So I'll be mentally preparing for that as well.

Have a GREAT day Everyone!!!

Good morning,

I haven't been online for a couple of days; just too busy to get here. However, on Thursday I did GS BSB and Step Fusion (step only). Friday was a rest day, and Saturday I did High Step Challenge. Tonight I will do Cardio Kicks.

Laurie - what happened to Faith's wrist? Sorry to ask you to repeat.

Robyn - that's wonderful that your DS will be getting an award! I've just done 2 weeks of the GS (going for 4), and am already seeing increased definition. When I'm done, I'll do a SH rotation for a bit.

Carole - 20 miles for your legs is just a warm up, isn't it? :) Are they all excited for your big race in the summer? You never complain about joint pain or fatigue. Do you not have these problems, or do you just not complain about them? I'm thinking of challenging myself to do a 5km run in the fall; it's been years since I've gotten a new t-shirt :)

Phyllis - your whole house is still asleep at 8:45am?! Wow! I wish my crew would do that. DH would happily sleep till noon if he could, but the children just don't seem to cooperate. Have fun with BootCamp. "You can do anything for a minute!"

Jill L - We're 6 for 6 on the coffee this morning. Having a backyard pool is one of my greatest memories of childhood, especially "pool-opening" day. We always had contests to see who could get into the icy cold water and stay there the longest. Why are you having the office gang over for dinner?

This afternoon we're having friends over for a tepanyaki dinner followed by a chocolate fondue for dessert. Yup, I'm using wedding gifts that I've had for, ah, 12 years now. Better have the phone number to the pizza joint handy.

ETA: I haven't been on the scale in quite some time, but was thrilled to be able to get into my size 6 jeans last week. I haven't been able to do that since before the pregnancy. Woohoo!

Cheers,
Sandra

Ok.. I did GS Chest, Shoulder, Bicep I love it :)

Hi Carole: I think we posted at the same minute. Hope you had a good run.

Phyllis: Yes the kitchen is suppose to start on 6/1. They say just a month but that is not what I hear the reality is! My DD is on Core WW so this may be tough. I guess we can grill a lot.

Hi Jill: Yes lots going on. Have a wonderful time today.

Sandra nice to hear your result on GS. Congrats on the back in the jeans - Great progress. Have a wonderful time tonight :)

Hi Everyone....
Laurie I was wondering why you have to go on a conference like that? What do you do? The reason why Sandy I am having my team over is because my husband and I have our own business and every summer once per month we have huge gatherings with contests, themes and fun, fun, fun for the whole office to get together with their families (kids included) and get to know each other on a personal level. It builds team spirit, gets everybody connected in a family-friend kind of way and is excellent for morale. They love it and we love doing it for them. We barbecue lots of food, people will bring their favorite dish to share with everyone and we even have prizes for all sorts of things. Kids all get water toys to play with and bring home with them. We even have contests and prizes for them! So it's a lot of preparation though. But it's worth it!

Have a great weekend....
Jill L.

I like KPC, but yesterday, I was feeling very tired, so I did Powerstrike 3, which is slower than Powerstrikes 1 and 2, but I still worked up a sweat and burned 300 calories with it. On some nights, I am doing 90 minutes of cardio which is very tiring, and I can't keep that up every day. However, it is working as I am losing weight.

Today, I think I am just going to do my upper body, as my legs really need a rest. Thanks for letting me join in on this checkin.

Tomorrow, I am going to see if I can stand 90 minutes of step aerobics, and I will make a mishmosh of Cathe and Christi.

Carole,

I enjoy you the 20 mile run. I used to run long distances like that, but time has taken its toll, and I don't think my knees will ever stand up to it again.

I consider myself lucky to be able to do 3 to 5 miles. I hope you have a great run.

Robin, I still have a dread factor when I do GS Chest, and I am only able to now do about 8 pushups on my toes.

Meg, I don't think I could do legs and glutes and then run 3 miles.

Phyllis, good luck with the bootcamp. I have a dread factor for that.

Jill, enjoy your rest day.

I never got to BodyMax this weekend, as I felt too tired, and it was my TOTM. There is always another weekend.

Sandra, congrats on the size 6. I am very short, and I have just squeezed back into a size 4 in my banana republic jeans and Gap shorts. Sorry for my multiple posts; I am still trying to get to know you all.

Good Afternoon Fit Chicks!

This morning I did Coach Sean's version of volume 6 on the treadmill. At one point he says to drop him a line and let him know your zones...well mine were near death and death!!!! This one is a killer workout which challenged me beyond my limits.

Phyllis: I'm planning on a modified P90x doubles rotation for the month of June....I plan on starting tomorrow.

Laurie: Glad to hear Faith has bounced back so quickly...yes, kids are very resilient. Enjoy your conference.

Carole: Another great Sunday run...you are incredible.

Sandra: Congratulations on the size 6 jeans.....way to go! I promise you there will come a time when you have to wake up your kids at noon!!!!

Jill: I hope you enjoyed your rest day. We opened our pool today too.

Caitlin: Great workouts!

Robyn: Congrats to your DS on the award. Wow....a new kitchen sounds divine!

Maeghan: Awesome workout you have planned for today.

Hello to all that follow...have a great day!

Hey Sandra, sounds like a fun dinner with your friends. Funny, I've been married twice and still had to buy my own fondue set last year:+ That's awesome that you fit into your size 6's, no surprise that all of your hard work, dietary changes and commitment have paid off so well, nice work Sandra:7

As for Faith she was goalie in a soccer tournie on Wednesday. She valiantly (and successfully) stopped a hard shot with her gloved hand buy still severely hyperextended her wrist and tore some ligaments in the palm side of her forearm. The doctor put her in a removable cast and although she was in a lot of pain for the first 3 days she's doing much better today (playing piano and jumping on the trampoline without holding her arm......not at the same time mind you:+ ).

Jill, I'm a Registered Massage Therapist and as such I am required to accumulate 'continuing education units' which strengthens the profession collectively. This conference is designed for RMT's and the unique and often grey areas that arise within our professional relationships. It was pretty wonderful today to be in a room of RMT's as it is, by nature, a very isolated profession. I am fortunate to have a fabulous business partner who is also an RMT that I can bounce things off of but exchanging ideas with 35 others today was very powerful, can't wait to see what tomorrow brings:) That's terrific that you and your husband are willing to invest such time and effort into the team of people you work, I don't think that enough businesses understand the long term resonance of team building, pool side with a BBQ and fun, who could ask for more? Thanks for your interest, it is nice to get to 'know' each other a bit more on the check-ins.

Take Care
Laurie:)
