Hi, Gayle, and all who follow -
Woohooo! It's a new month, spring is almost here, and I am going to do LowMax today! First time in a week that I've done any sort of cardio, and I am pumped.

Oh, and the daffodils are blooming like crazy, and so is my rosemary. Crocuses are coming up, Bradford pear trees are budding... yesterday was 75 degrees. Okay... I think I'm ready for spring.

Good morning ladies

WOW...push-ups on toes!!! You need P90X....:)..great workout Gayle

Shannon..have fun with Lowmax, it is a leg burner...:)

Sandra...I used a barbell for the leg presses and only used a 10 inch step. Glad you are feeling better too...hate these winter colds!!

I am doing P90X Back & Biceps, abs and a 5 mile run

Have a great day...:)...Carole

Good Morning.

Gayle-What a work out! Good job!

Shannon-Enjoy LowMax!

Carole-Have a good run!

I have KPC on the schedule along with other assorted things like jumping jax, crunches, jump rope, walking lunges...fun fun!}(

Hello everyone, Spring is on its way!

Did GS UB premix today.

And then I didn't run 9K. Wanna know why?

Well I started with the warmup of GS-legs. Then went out on a run. First 2K I kept my HR at about 145. I know from the treadmill that equals about 8.5KPH. As I went into the 3rd K I increased speed (and my HR to 150). My right calf started to feel heavy. A piece of lead had attached itself to to upper part of my calf I think. Well, gotto get rid off it. Relax my leg swing and it'll come down, all the way down to my foot so I can leave it behind on the asphalt. Yeah, it's gone, let it bug some other runner :) After 4K I increase speed again to a 165 HR. Great feeling, I'm doing well. As I go into the 5th K I suddenly realise some other runners piece of lead has attached itsel to my calf again. Darn those runners, can't they clear up their mess? OK, relax it'll work it's way down.... After 6K I increase again to HR170 for only 1K. This is tough, tough.... my breathing is off.... Oh I'm so happy I can slow down again! HR should be at 160 now. I look at the time, it's 1:13PM. OH NO.... Spike is supposed to be at the vet in 20min!!! Quick, take a right, home, shower... wet hair... who cares... Pffftt I'm at the vet's 5 min. late. Don't know how I did that, but as I'm sitting there I realise I didn't put any cream on my face, I'm sure my skin is cracking in all directions.

Anyways, that's why I didn't get to run 9K today.

I'll do my leg w/o after dinner.

Have a great day and a wonderful w/o. (or is that the other way round?)

Morning ladies. Welcome to March! Today for me was IMAX 3. I'm finally beginning to like this workout. It will never be as fun as IMAX 2, but I don't dread doing it anymore.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Katie

Katie - Imax 3 is growing on me, too. My all time favorite part is when she jumps the length of the step, then sideways, jack, up and back, ... or something like that, at least. I look forward to it the minute I start the warmup.

Hi everyone,

Good luck on your return to cardio Shannon. It sounds like you have the energy to burn.

Katie - Imax 3 still has a dread factor for me, I am not sure why. This is the only one I modify ( I don't jump off the step ), but I just hate those plie jacks!x(

Today was a 45 minute run, did CIA Andre cardio and abs instead, nice hour of moderate impact. Cathe's injuries lately have me rethinking some of my impact, I guess!

Have a great day!

Hi to all check in readers :)

today was Boot camp plus extra sets of hi-rep low-weight rear lungs off step, static lunges, plie squats and side lunges. (not unlike Freestyle)

Tomorrow I will begin the March rotation. I gravitate more towards endurance than strength, so this might be a good mix up for me.

Morning :) :)

Well ladies, I did it this morning, Step Blast that is :p Do I like it hm………………really don’t know. I watched it last night and then attempted the workout this morning.

Too tell the truth, I was a little frustrated :-( I kept landing on the wrong side of my step, lots of chorography. Just maybe SB will grow on me and too, I found SB to be very easy. I’m spoiled from all the Imax workouts, I like a good challenge }( didn't find SB to be challenging, just me 0.2 cents ;-)

Tonight, GS chest & triceps & ab hits :p

Morning all!

Gayle - hurray for push-ups on toes!

Shannon - can you send some of that weather my way, please?

Carole - happy running! I'm beginning to think I need P90X!

Tigger - enjoy your wide variety of activities today;)

Dutchie - I do so love your stories. Keep 'em coming:) How was Spike's vet visit?

Katie - Imax 3 has a high dread factor for me too, but I find that once I start, I really enjoy it.

Conni - Those plie jacks in Imax 3 are killer. But for some reason I love them:p

Teddygirl - SB is a fantastic workout once you get the choreography down and you can really put your all into it. I do it on an 8" step and find it really gets me winded.

Judy - your workout sounds HARD on those legs!

This morning I did Coremax Tough Abs premix, and tonight will be GS Chest and Triceps. I'm hoping to repeat last week and do all the push-ups on my toes:)

Happy March 1st !!

I for one, am cheering loudly at the fact that February is behind us!!!

Sandra, congrats on moving into your new home next month!!

Yesterday I walked with DD.....45 minutes pushing a 3 yr old in a stroller, then later walked at the golf course with dh for almost an hour! I think I got my cardio in!!;-)

This morning I did yoga with light weights off FitTV and will walk later in the day when it is warmer.

Great workouts everyone! :D

Shelley, I'd be glad to share. If you feel a nice warm breeze up there, you'll know it's from me.

Excellent. I'll try to feel it in between the snow, freezing rain and ice pellets we're expecting tonight and tomorrow!;)

Today I have GS UB's planned and kickboxing.I also want to finish watching War of the Worlds so if I can do that while on my threadmill...that would be awesome:) I think I only have about 40 min left.
Have a good one!
Lori:)

Teddygirl, I find that whenever I start a new workout, especially one with as much choreography as SB, that I never really feel like I'm getting a good workout because I'm spending too much time saying "what the heck did she just do". I'm too busy trying to get caught up and spend a lot of the time just standing there staring at the TV in confusion. I think that once you get the choreography down and can concentrate on putting intensity into it you'll find that SB is a great cardio workout, especially on an 8" step. And I'm an IMAX freak too. I love the intensity of all the IMAX's, but SB is one of my favorites too. RS is the one I can't get into all that much. That one I don't feel like I'm getting enough out of.

Try it again, you may find the more familiar you become with it the more you'll get out of it.

Shelley,

I truly truly forgot that I did Step Blast on a 4" step. That’s why I wasn't challenged. Aw..... No wonder.... I always do steps on 6” or 8” I only went to 4” cuz Cathe went there ;) I’m going to do Step Blast again, if not tomorrow soon on a 6" and I bet cha I will get a much better workout. Thanks again :D :D

Tonight, I’ll be right there with you for GS chest & tri. I never tried to do all the push-ups on me toes. Its time tho to take it too another level; its' on x( :9 :p

Teddygirl~

Good morning!

This morning I did High Step Challenge. I love that workout. I love the music for the abs, but the music for the cool down seems so serious, compared to the upbeat music of the rest of the workout.

Gayle - so, are you saying you did the cardio in CW twice?? Good work! And amazing job on the push ups!!!

Shannon - have fun with Low Max! I can't believe people are talking about spring already. We're in the middle of winter still.

Carole - have a nice run!

Wendy - tell me about this "assorted" stuff. Did you survive it all?

Dutchie - great story, as usual! At first I was trying to figure out how lead gets attached to one's calf (do you wear magnetic socks??), but then I figured out - ah, a metaphor! Maybe a truncated run is what your body was asking for, anyway.

Katie - I feel the same way about IMAX3.

Conni - I agree; Cathe's injury is a good reminder to all of us about the importance of cross-training and rest.

Teddygirl - SB is my favourite steady-state cardio of Cathe's, for the fun factor. It's not her most intense workout, but the music and the choreography are a lot of fun. And you could always beef up the intensity by programming your dvd player (or using the mix'n match feature) to do: combo 1; blast 1; combo 2; blast 2; combo 3; blast 3; Challenge (all three blasts again). Just an idea.

Judy - the March rotation looks like a good one. Will you add more cardio, or keep it as is?

Shelley - I haven't tried the CoreMax premixes yet. Are they also 20 minutes each? And are they better/worse/just different than the original 3 workouts? I'm sending good push up vibes your way!

Becky - nice workout yesterday! What a nice way to get some exercise in, while having a good day. Thanks for the well wishes on the house. I can't wait to have my very own workout space!!!!!!

Lori - have a great run! And give us a review of the movie once you're done, please :)

Cheers!
Sandra
