so it probably will be a rest day for me......hope your workouts today will be good ones!

Thanks for starting us off. How come a longer day for you?

Today I did my own workout while watching Cathe's Hardstrikes workout. I did a lower body EDT + my own workout from Coconuts and Kettlebells - three different cardio moves in descending reps of 50-40-30-20-10 - I could not complete the lunges whoa!

And yes, Elsie - EDT is just as you said - using blocks of time instead of sets. I love it! I guess it's a bit like Cathe's giant sets or muscle meltdowns but supersetting moves. Anyway - great results in less time. I will grow bored - eventually - I always do.

Henriette - I hope you feel better soon

See you all tomorrow - it's thanksgiving this weekend. My DD is flying in from ottawa this morning. DH will pick her up. She will be shocked to learn that our dog has been groomed to look like a lion. It's embarrassing. My youngest did it cos she works at a groomers!

Hi ladies,

Siobhan - I have some more questions about your EDT version of burn sets for instance. How many of the exercizes doe you do? Just bi and one tri in sets alternating for the whole 15min and then 2 other antagonistic muscles for another PR? How do you keep count so you know what ypu need to beat next time? As far as I understand you can start with 6 reps and as you fatigue you do less reps before switching muscle.

Today is busy so I went to the gym and did 22 minutes on the elliptical then taught my class and did a kickboxing workout for variety. It was 50 minutes long.

Now home and have to take youngest son to the dentist and then we get our hair cut after the dentist.

I had a dentist appointment yesterday and had a cavity so that will be fixed next month.

Linda - Fridays are my forced rest day most of the time. Tonight I gave a 1.5hr training and we weren't done with dinner until 21.15. Tomorrow is a new day and my son's game is in the evening, but far away... Nevertheless I should get in a good w/o before then.

Hi Henriette,

From what I've read, you can be flexible and change things up. Right now I am trying 12 reps each of opposing moves with very little rest - like 10-15 seconds. I eventually can't keep up the rep count. I go back and forth on the same move for 15 minutes. I haven't done it in its pure form, counting etc.. as I am just trying it out. I really like it. I've also done a mix of push-ups with squat jacks for 15 minutes - back and forth. I've also tried the same body part but varying the moves to avoid boredom. there is a lot of info on youtube about this as well as exercises. i have a book at home called muscle logic - that's where it all started. there are also two other similar programs called ??? GBC training and GVT training. check them out and give them a try. they are quick and dirty.

Henriette, my class was good. 3 ladies and the didn't put up too much fuss when we did kickbox with no weights. We did hold 1 or 2 pound dumbbells during the workout for more intensity during the punches.

Hey. Happy Friday girls. Excellent workouts Ceci & Annette! You two have really been givin' her this week! Have a much deserved rest Aquagirl & Henriette (if you indeed take your rest lol). Henriette, are your shins feeling any better today?
Have a nice homecoming with your DD, family and lion dog this holiday weekend Ceci. :) I cannot believe how quickly this year has been going by. If the weather cooperates, we plan on driving out to the hot springs as we are both pretty sore and achy. We are turning into an old couple!! lol.

So, today I am feeling achy and my Iliopsoas bursitis seems to be acting up again. I think from inactivity. Been doing lots of lifting but not real moving. Anyway, I end up doing a mobility routine for the ankles (12 min), some posture flexibility work (27 min) and did the warm-up and cardio blast combo (21 min) from LIS Low Impact Challenge which felt alright.

Even though only an hour, it makes a difference. I have a 3 day weekend (holiday Monday-Columbus Day) so

Siobhan - thanks for your EDT explanation. I was looking at Muscle Logic on Amazon but wasn't sure if you had read that or just used online info. I also checked out YouTube, so I hope to give it a try this weekend.

Elsie - sorry you feel like an old couple. Moving is tough, but it sounds like you are taking good care of yourself.

My inner shins are strangely not really hurting much, just left side a tiny bit. Outer shins hurt a bit, but my calves are exhausted. The physio did say he thought my pain originated from my deep calve muscles, but maybe I also just exhausted them by using 2 risers instead of one like Cathe and her crew for Rockin Step Party 2. Additionally the area he massaged on my right leg feels so bruised that I have even woken up during the night when my left leg has touched it. I think this was what he warned me about, although I am not sure he expected me to feel it this much.

And to answer your other question regarding my crocheting... It's going great. I finished two projects recently, although I still need to work in the ends on both. Wednesday I wanted to start a mini puff stitch cowl, I already have 2 and have made my one for my sister but I made them a few years again so I could not remember how I had modified the pattern I had used. I started and unravelled and started again and unravelled it and went on like that for a whole episode of Ray Donovan. So at the end of the episode I had nothing. Never done that before! Thursday I started allover and I managed to do it in a way I liked although I am not sure it's 100% the same as the others, but as they will never be seen together it doesn't really matter.
