I was happy with what I saw in the movie but I'm a diehard fan of the book series and I know its not some folks cup of tea. It was fun entertainment.
I was not disappointed with the movie Twilight and my 18 yr old was the one who was not happy w/ the casting and was afraid the movie was not going to live up to her very extreme high standards of the book. At one point she was very anti Twilight movie.
She was won over

If she was, then I know it was good as she is very adamant about 'her' book and had been very skeptical and critical of when we found out last year they were casting the movie. The essence of the book is there.
I had to keep telling her to separate from her mind what happens in the book and to remember this is just a
very, very condensed version of the book. The actors are just that actors trying to portray the characters the best way they could - once she got that through her head she was very pleased.
I'm going again to see the 2 pm showing with my youngest.

Oldest dd will be dragging her bf who came back yesterday for a week to see it tonight
It was a very clean and decent movie... no cuss words and my goodness the kiss but it was just the one. It was not so bad; no tongue, no groping a nice first kiss and of course Edward always stops and pulls away from Bella before he loses control as in not kill her

. I liked that they kept it chaste throughout the movie as the book is. So I am taking lil miss to see it as she sees us kissing and hugging all the time here so its no biggie.
The place was PACKED! Majority were females with a sprinkling of men.
Not many young folks but lots of women in my age bracket which made me feel very happy. So I know I'm not the only TwilightMom. Some of my 18 yr old's friends were there and thought we were sisters or cousins

so they were surprised when she said no I came with my mom lol
One thing though...someone brought a baby and the guy sitting next to me was peeved that it was crying
Ah well can't have it all but it was fun.
