It is Independence Day, and I am celebrating freedom in more ways than one. Today is my spiritual birthday. I am 8 years old in Jesus. Today is also my fitness anniversary. I started this amazing journey to living fit and free on July 4, 2003. It has been a wild ride so far, and I expect the great adventure to continue. This is a moment of total surrender for me. I am starting my journey afresh and anew and returning to what I did in the beginning when I was exercising childlike faith, delighting in the Lord, and enjoying the journey every step of the way. Because I desire to live by faith, not by sight, I am packing my scale in a box this morning and sealing the box. I am returning to the glorious freedom and sweet simplicity of living by faith, eating for the glory of God, and exercising as an act of worship without focusing on what I weigh. I will continue to eat and exercise in a way that blesses my body and trust God with the results.

I visited Gretchen’s cardio boot camp class last night and was only able to endure the first 40 minutes of it. Cathe’s Boot Camp is on my rotation for this morning. I am planning an 8-week rotation to gradually start building my cardio endurance again. I am training for Drill Max! I want to be ready for the new workouts when they are ready for me!

I am going to do Legs/glutes today and core max 1. I might add some cardio but I don't know. I am hoping to make it through all of legs and glutes.

Hopefully I will win the rhythmic step dvd today on ebay. That will be my first Cathe dvd purchase. It might be become an addiction I will have to watch out.

Other than that I might clean bathroom. x(

Good morning to all.

I have both cardio and weights on tap today but I'm not sure what work out(s) I'll do yet. I probably won't hit the gym though.

Last night was my running class. It was HOT and HUMID...BLECH! I was still happy to be there though. I can't wait for the 5K! :+ I just hope it's a bit cooler on race day...:eek:

Jenn, you will LOVE RS. I didn't purchase it for a long time cause I thought it would be too complicated, but I was wrong! It's great, and you get IMAX 1 and MIC ( an evil wo!) too.

Tammy, I did chest and cardio today too. I didGS pushups, PUB chest, CTX chest and Lomax int 1-4. I should have some DOMS tomorrow!
Where did you find your fireworks cartoon? It's great!

Wendy, it's how and humid here too. I was trying to get back into running, but this weather is not agreeable to that idea.

Morning ladies. I did not get my butt out of bed to exercise this morning, so I will workout when my daughter takes her nap this afternoon. Today on tap is GS Legs followed by intervals 1-5 of IMAX. Or I might just go over to the gym. We'll see, but I WILL get a workout in today.

Heather - happy spiritual birthday! It sounds like you are out of your funk and on your way to great things!!

I did a 3M walk/run today. There is no way I can run the whole thing, the hills kill me. But I felt great all the way through - no twinges of knee or hip pain.

Tomorrow will be a rest day. My hips normally bother me when I workout the day after running. I'm going to see if resting the day immediately after helps keep them healthy.

Today we have lots of running around and a picnic. Personally, I need a quiet day at home, but not that's not to be. Maybe over the weekend.

Hi everyone!

I guess today is another unscheduled rest day for me. Just very hot and humid outside, with rain off and on and lots going on.....a parade and cookout and this morning we ran errands and did some work in the house.

Guess I'll get back to it tomorrow. I need to choose a rotation. What's everyone else doing in July???

I am going to run 3 miles and do Gs Ba,sh,and Biceps. I am sure it will be an eat fest today. I am going to a friends house for a barbecue. Have a great one girls!

Hi everybody and Happy 4th of July! I don't think that I checked in yesterday, but I did KPC. I like that workout more and more each time I do it. Today I did a local 4 mile run. There were about 500 people there and it was so much fun. My goal was to finish in 44 min, but I actually finished in 42 min 15 sec. Woohoo!! Running is finally getting a little easier after doing it for 6 months.

I hope you all enjoy your holidays.

Late check-in with my actual work out tonight....

I created another kickbox circuit mish-mosh:

KPC: w/u and intermediate intensity drills.

L&G: leg press-1 set, hover squats, rear lunge right, plie squats-1 set, rear lunge left, 1 legged dead lifts, sculpting drill, explosive lunges and glute & ham tucks.

KM: Blasts only.

ME upper body: db rows, biceps curls, chest flys, triceps kickbacks, front/side shoulder raises, side lateral raises.

ME abs + Stretch.

I cut the abs short because I was running out of time...from beginning to end the work out ran 71 mins. Not nearly as creative as the last one I made up but it was still good! }(
 
I am checking in for everything from Saturday on as I was out of town this weekend.

Saturday: 45 min run, 5 min of sprints, some jumping jacks
Sunday: 6 miles run/walk with DH
Monday: rest...but did play some lawn jarts
today: 25 min run in the AM and then Step Heat when I got home from the airport

I had fun this weekend but it is good to be home!
 
Hi, sounds like fun Wendy!
I just did some freestyle stuff, working every muscle including 50 calf raises! I went heavier then usual on weights too. It was fun!
