Hi good morning, today is Yoga X.I will add a segment of Stretch Max too.I start today the first recovery week of the P90X.I will substitute one of the two yoga workouts of this week with the Basic step of the BS/BF dvd and Stretch Max. Have a great Saturday everybody.

Good Morning Fit Women,

Yesterday was Tri's/Bi's, SS Shoulder Segment and Shoulders from Legs and Shoulders. I stuck with 10#'s for shoulder and 8# doing rotissiere stick thingy. I did bicep curls with 25#'s dumbbells for one set only. First time I made it thru an entire set with these and then I did curls with a 45lb bar for 2 sets. My arms hurt!!!!

Today will be chest/back and ab work and some cardio.

Mariangeles - enjoy your recovery week. As hard as you've been working, I'm sure you are ready for it!

Cathy - what is progressive overload? I hope this doesn't sound dumb but I am still learning all this fitness lingo. I have exercised consistently for over two years now but I have learned more on this forum in the last month and a half than in all those two year.

Charlotte - 45 lbs curls. Wow, I am impressed. I am hoping my strength will improve now that I am eating the "sarah way" as Elaine put it in one of the other threads. (I like that title Elaine.

Yesterday was The Viper. I really like that w/o. I was having so much fun with those cardio segments from Cardio & Weights and IMAX2, the time just flew by.

Today is a rest day for me. Monday is usually rest day but I am trying something different. I am stealing Wendy's idea of using a generic rotation. I start back tomorrow with an anaerobic w/o.

Jane-I love the Viper or any workout on the Terminator!! Makes me feel very accomplished.

Hi Jane,
Progressive overload is a method in which with each weight workout you increase the workload on your muscle. It is a great method to build muscle. You typically only work 1-2 bodyparts/day otherwise you will be too tired to work to your full capacity by the time you come to your second or third muscle group. For biceps for ex., you would do several exercise such as is in GymStyle and so 3 sets of each of the exercises and take a full minute -two break between each set. Once you can complete a set using one weight, you must start the second set with a higher weight and do as many reps with good form at that weight and then stop and progress to the third set with the higher weight and do as many reps as you can and then stop. The next time you do the workout, the first set must be started using the higher weight. Once you complete all reps at that weight you add weight. The goal is to continue to add reps at the higher weight and once you complete one set at that weight, you immediately move to a higher weight and don't look back. I have gained so much strength and lean muscle mass using this method that I don't use other training styles very frequently.

Jane, have a good rest day. Yes the Viper was quite fun yesterday!! For the Chipotle mashed potatoes I just add 2 diced chipotles (without the seeds) to my mashed potato recipe. If you haven't tried chipotles you might want to try one 1st...:)

Carla..yoga sounds nice and relaxing. Enjoy..:)

Kali..Stepblast is quite fun, I did it last week after not doing it for awhile...

I am doing my Freestyle legwork, abs, shoulder and biceps, and for cardio Kickboxing I think..

Great work outs as usual ladies! I keep thinking of the roadtrippers. I'll bet they are having an awesome time! :)

Today is my rest day. It's also my DH's Birthday. :+

Joey is at his grandma's house. He slept there last night. What a quiet night I had. ;) I miss him though. x(

We will be picking him up this afternoon and then heading to DH's mom's for dinner before we go out for some dancing.

Hi Kali,
I have GymStyle Legs. I personally like it better than L&G and I rotate it with S&H Legs and PLB. I do throw in L&G and Leaner Legs occasionally. I really like the floor work of GymStyle Legs...its a toughie.

Carole,
I typically only work out one to two body parts per day and if I am working two I try to take a break in bewteen. Each part only gets strength trained oncer per 7-8 days unless I am doing circuits during that particualr week.

Carole I have those peppers in my frig because of a recipe I tried.... chicken with roasted red pepper sauce and it used these pepper in the adobe sauce. I went by the recipe and boy was that hot!!! DH loves hot/spicy food, the hotter/spicer the better... even he had tears in his eyes!! LOL....}( The next time I made it, I cut the pepper amount in half!!! It was good then.

Hello ladies. Today is my rest day, but I may do some ab work later. Tommorrow I have BC on schedule. Woo Hoo. My daughter is spending the night with Grandma and Grandpa tonight, so I can do my workout tomorrow morning without having to worry about waking her up. I love that because I can crank the music up and get really pumped!

Alright. I went for a walk because DH & DS's are controlling the TV's. I completely forgot I have BC scheduled.
So if DH would leave already x( I can go do HSCI.
I skipped ME last night and don't feel like doing BC after walking so I think HSC will be a nice in between. Nice and easy.;-) HEE HEE.

Good Morning Everyone!

I'm later than usual, but then a lot of times I don't find the time to workout at all on weekends, so this is a bonus for me!

I just finished doing VIPER . OMG! What a KILLER~! What a SWEATFEST!!!!!!! I loved it (and hated it at the same time??) !!! But I can already tell I'm gonna be starved all day! Does this kind of killer workout do that to anyone else?? How do you balance that? Because what's the point of such a great workout if you blow it with your diet??? But it makes sense to have a larger than normal appetite after burning all those calories... Any ideas anyone?? I'm thinking about having a protein shake now. I had cheerios and fresh blackberries before I worked out, but am really gonna need something after.....

Anyway, I have to say 5 GOLD STARS FOR VIPER!!!!!!
 
Happy Saturday All!! I had a great workout today AllStep step and shoulders then GS Back Shoulders and Biceps finished off with MM core and stretch. I looooooove long workouts on the weekend. Last time I did AllStep I crashed doing a 'grapevine down the board, go over' and twisted my ankle pretty good. Today all went well and I remembered how much I love this step workout.

We're off to the country side today for a Birthday BBQ at a horse farm, like Carole said it's going to be a scorcher. I bought a really cute outfit for it but I'm dragging out the lightest cotton dress I have for comfort's sake, that's okay I can show off my legs more}( ;) :7 .
