Good morning Cheetah babes!

Just getting us started this morning. I don't have time for personals just right now but will later. However wanted to send some serious {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{CHEETAH POWER}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} to Christine!!!!!!! Have a great ride today...I will be thinking of you today and can't wait to hear your report!

Woke up early (before alarm) and will probably try to get a little a workout in, gasp  :p. Probably gonna be something easy like the HIS/LIS cardios.

Never got to a workout yesterday. Got finished at the horse show too late and then went and had dinner (and a much needed CAB...blackberry sangria, YUM!) with DSO and then both of us promptly crashed on the couch lol! We're both lightweights when it comes to booze :p.

Quickie here. Workout is done. It's a good thing I picked an easy one ...my butt was dragging but I still had a good workout. Thank goodness I didn't pull out an Imax or I probably would have keeled over lol!

Late for work, gotta skeedaddle. Have a fantastic Sunday ladies!

Good morning to the fabulous cheetahs. I had a great afternoon yesterday after managing to escape the Philly traffic that was a maddening stop and go well outside of the city. Starting to look forward alot to going back to being a country girl! Went out on the bay with DH and his boat yesterday. (I've never been a beach person) and had a great time. BIL and his wife were there too on their boat and we had a fun time. The downside here is that DH's parents are insisting on spending today with us (sigh) Well, I'll get in a good long run first so I can be in a properly good mental mood!

Christine- Can't wait for your ride report. I bet you are having a wonderful time and we are with you 1000%.

Cathy- I loved your words y'day to Wendy. One of the reasons I agreed to relocate and shake up my life to help DH and his family was that I was becoming so obsessive and rigid with my routine and life. If things didn't go exactly as planned .... watch out! Not good!!! I've been forced to take it all in stride... either that or go totally insane and since I'm already partially insane I elected not to go the whole way and enjoy more zen moments! Thanks for your inspiration.

Wendy- Really into the kettleball madness now eh? I will continue to resist this temptation tho (sigh) as I am about to assume two mortgages (double sigh)

Jackie- Since I've got a great cool indoor fitness center available to me now I've been rediscovering the Itreads. #12 is one of my favorites... a real tusk kicker!!
Enjoying your weekend?

Posh- I'm about to head out for a long run myself and I'll be thinking of you and wishing you the very best in smoky Ca! Loved your post yesterday about thankfulness.
Sounds like a nice posh shopping trip! Enjoying your new printer/scanner??? Can't wait to see some pics!

Gloria- Congrats on getting thru a tough run yesterday!!! Great idea to end such a day with some good friends and CABs!!!! I bet Ellie enjoyed the dog company as well.

Carole- Went back to read about your encounter with the turkey from hell (LOL) Not something I can say I've ever had to deal with!! Good to hear you are having some higher humidity there even tho it means more sweat for ya.

Wendi- Okay, only a cheetah who is certifiably insane would call the HIS/LIS an easy workout!! That blackberry sangria does sound yummy!

Gotta go now before it heats up too much outside. I'm planning on 8-10 miles... we'll see.

Shelly

Good morning cheetahs

Wendi...good job getting in the workout this morning. Blackberry sangria sounds tasty..

Cathy...I am glad I could give you a great laugh!!...as it always makes me smile...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/fsc/forward%20roll.gif[/img] Hope you get your DSL working today.

Christine...I always hope the turkey gets out and one of the neighbors shoots him! Yes he is lucky I am a vegetarian..:)...Great about the bike shorts. Hope you have a wonderful ride http://fc06.deviantart.com/fs6/i/2005/108/3/e/_by_clairebearer.gif You will be in my thoughts.

Shelly...How nice you 2 got out in the boat! I am sure your 8-10 miler will put you in the perfect mood for your in-laws. He really is a turkey from hell...:)...yes the milder temps and higher humidity does aid the firefighters.

Today my sister and friend are going to do a trail run by the one lake where there is NOT any fires! We are hoping for better air quality. So could be anywhere from 6-10 miles.

Have a great day...:)

Good Morning Cheetahs!

Wendi – I love the title of the thread! Thank you!! Great job at getting in the workout this morning! I’ll bet you feel good!! Hopw things calm down soon for ya!!

Shelly – glad you’re back with DH – but sorry the in-laws are intruding on your few moments together. I love spending time boats – but I grew up on the water. I love the beach, but I get bored just sitting there. Your reasons for moving are interesting as I can absolutely understand where you’re coming from. I have a tendency to be a bear if my plans go awry, which isn’t good because I start planning the minute I hear about the possibility of something happening. I’m really trying to lighten up and go with the flow more. It’s hard. Enjoy your run! Nothing like a good run to clear the head and to put you in a proper frame of mind.

Carole – I hope you have better air quality today for your run!!! And I hope you get in a nice long run! I’m still chuckling about birdzilla.

Well, I’m pretty much ready, but I’m totally not hungry. At all! I cannot ride 50 miles with no food. Okay, they will have food there, but still… It’s funny because I haven’t done a cycling event in over 10 years, so I’m a little more nervous than I would be if I were running. Again, thanks for the support! I’m feeling all warm and fuzzy this morning. Have a great day lovely ladies! I'll be back with a reace report.

Good Morning Girls.

Had lots o' fun last night. Went out to celebrate DH's B'day with a buddy of his and the guy's GF. Nice couple. We went to eat at a great seafood place and then hit 3 bars before heading home. I enbibed at the restaraunt and bar #1. DH enbibed at bars 2 & 3 so we were both able to get our buzz on and have someone sober for the drive home. As sober as I was, I am still feelin' "off" from last night's indulgences. Not hung over but disconnected and tired feeling. Oh well. If you are gonna play you gotta pay, right? :7

Today we are headed north in the early afternoon to pick DS up from my mom's house and then to MIL's to celebrate DH's B'day yet AGAIN and his real Birthday is not even until Wednesday! :p Lucky guy, ey? ;)

So I am feelin' y'day's work out for sure. I started getting DOMS in my core LAST NIGHT! Needless to say, this morning I feelin' it big time. I haven't had ab DOMS like this since I first started the X back in Jan of 07! My arms and legs don't HURT (yet!LOL) but I feel the tightness in them for sure. I have to say that I *heart* Keith Weber. The production quality of the dvd was pretty bad but luckily I am not a stickler for that since the work out itself kicks butt!}(

Today's plan is a TM run...perhaps CC 7 or 8 since I haven't done them yet. }(

Gonna post this novel (LOL) and then come back for personals.:)

Jackie: Doing anything fun with DBF this weekend?

Gloria: I guess dogs are no different from humans in that the boys always end up annoying the girls at SOME point!:p :7 Did you have fun with your friends last night? Everyone knows DH and I are not the neatest people either but I still feel like I need to give the house a good once over before anyone comes.

Christine: I have tried TGU's. I watched the art of strength tutorial as well. I am still unsure of myself with them so I don't do them often as I am always afraid I am doing them wrong. Call it too lazy to spend time learning how to do them properly. Oh well. :p Sorry that the silly putty hammer hasn't whipped DH into shape yet. MEN!x( Should I allow myself to be enabled by the EKB work out perhaps? }(

Carole: LOL I think you and DH will be making birdzilla stew soon! I know you won't eat it but I'm sure your family might enjoy some yummy turkey stew, no? ;) A run around a lake sounds fab for today. I hope the air quality is such that you can reach your target mileage.

Cathy: Actually, I was already feeling unenthused about the race before y'day's events unfolded. Perhaps if y'day hadn't happened I would have shaken it off and gone anyway. Who knows. Not worried though. A missed race here and there is no biggie. I think this is the third one I've signed up for and didn't make it to and that's not bad. The one I regret not going to is the first once because it was my VERY FIRST race. I don't know if you remember but we were having some noreaster and I was afraid to run in the park/woods/trails in that kind of weather. I was totally bummed and thought afterwards that I should have atleast TRIED... :-(
I know you are running long today. What's the mileage now...like 13ish?? I hope the humidity holds out until you are done. I'm sure you were out there at the crack o' dawn to beat as much heat as you could though.

good morning, everyone!!! :) :) :)

still posting from the phone.

christine----thinking of ya and your racing wheels and sending tons of positive vibes and energy your way!! one light 'n fun mystery/suspense series i've enjoyed has been janet evanovich's stephanie plum books. right now i am reading rant, which is pretty far out there. all i know so far is it's about a serial killer.

wendi---great work with your crack 'o dawn workout. hope you have a good one at the office.

shelly---shore traffic is a bear. i enjoy the beach but rarely head down anymore on account of the drive. glad you had a good time on the water...lol about your insanity jokes... ty for that compliment... :) i think it's bc of the fact that the two careers i have experience in are both so unpredictable on a daily basis that i have learned to roll with pretty much anything. this is esp. true of teaching. i know many of my colleagues do this, too--- (gloria?) write up these big elaborate plans and then have a brainstorm during the morning commute only to wind up scrapping the whole thing for something else--often something even better. it's good to plan, imo, just not as good to be so locked into it that you can't see any other opportunities or possibilities...well, this is what works for me at any rate...everyone has their own way....but i think it's cool you're pushing yourself out of your comfort zone in that respect....nuff rambling... :) have a great run in preparation for the outlaws! :)

carole---you definitely do keep me in stitches!!! i hope you have a smokeless run along the lake today.

wendy---sounds like a great time last night....ia with you re keiths workout...i think it's kinda cool that you feel like you're right there on the beach with a totally crazy man....lol! enjoy the pain today.

hope no one else posted in the meantime!

i ran my 13 this morning..am ridin the high now, feeling good save for a few chafed spots (iPod armband and bra) but overall it was a good run. felt real strong for the first 9-10...the last mile was a push...sun was out in full force by then. big improvement over last time! :) :) :)

ok, the dsl tech is on the way...gotta run bbl

Morning Cheetahs!

I'll start from Sat and todays thread. Let me know if I missed anything though, ok? Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts. I really appreciate it. (((HUGS)))

First of all, cheering hard for you Christine from the Midwest!!! :)

Christine ~ I second your vote for the "best darned group of ladies..."!!! I was looking at a RW's mag and say an add for the Big Sur. Wow! That picture alone would make me sign up for one of those races! Absolutely stunning!:) It will be great seeing you, Carole, Posh, and Cathy in October. Anyone else joining us? I'll be working a little of the marathon w/TNT.

Wendy ~ Looks like you're giving the kettlebells a whirl, huh? Sounds like a fun night last night. It seems we celebrate b-days a long time around here too. ;-) Can't wait to hear reviews on CC#7&8. I haven't tried them yet either. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever got around to buying #8...that could be part of the reason. :+ Love those pony-tailed emoticons! :) I have to tell you...I DID NOT want to run in the rain and possible lightning. however I DID NOT want to run 10 miles by myself. :p Besides, TNT sets up water stations. LOL I am getting the hang of running with the water pack though.

Carole ~ Enjoy your long run today. :) Hope the air quality is better. Oh my, got a wild turkey??? lol :7 Sound like you're enjoying P90X+. I would have liked to have started that with you. I'm sticking with shorter weight work right now. I have a question for you though...what kind of leg workouts do you do when you're running longer distances? I've been using the lunge cycle in the Freestyle book about 3-4 times a week. Wow! Skunks kill ckickens!?!

Shelly ~ The beach sounds wonderful. lol'd about being in the right mindset after your run...**try** and enjoy your day. Hmmm...just looked and I don't have iTread #12.}( I've been getting alot of use out of the iTreads as well lately. :)

Wendi ~ I like the thread title. :) lol'd about your Imax comment. I pulled out CF the other day..... The step segments alone got me...I thought **why is this so hard when I'm logging some good miles?**

Gloria ~ Great job on the 7 miler and getting the house all spiffied up. Did you have fun last night? I like your quote. :) WHAT?!?! We won't have a forum...when does that start? How long? Boy, am I out of the loop or what!?!?

Posh ~ I loved what you wrote y-day. You're right things happen and put everything back into perspective. That was so nice what you did. :) Enjoy your new toy!

Jackie ~ Your house is beautiful!! It's so warm and inviting. :)I love the stenciling and what it says. Did you do that?

Cathy ~ You typed all of that on your Blackberry!!??! That's impressive. :+ Thanks for the continued prayers. Yeah, my mouth did this  when the coach said that..., but it was good to have a little humor that early and that wet! :p Hope you up and running soon with the Internet.

Hi to the rest of the Cheetahs!

Today, is the EXT, abs and stretch. My legs felt rickety this AM, but now that I've been up for awhile they feel better. Oh, Glide works wonderfully!! However, I missed a spot....OUCHIE momma! What do you ladies use after you've been chafed? LOL:+

Better get moving.

Cathy ~ Posting at the same time....Woo hoo!! WTG on your 13 miler. I hear you on the chafed thing. Mine is on the inner/back of the thigh. I got out of my car (leather seats) y-day afternoon and I think I took another layer of skin off. YEOWCH!!! lol:+ Enjoy those endorphins!!! :)

Good Morning Cheetahs!! :)

Christine: GOOD LUCK TO OUR FAB CYCLING CHEETAH!!! :) :) :) :) You are probably already racing right now. Can't wait for the report!

Carole: Yeah, porcupines are nasty too. The only predator I can think of is the black bear. They will flip them over and eat them that way. I did have a nice evening last night, thanks. Glad your workout was a good one! :) Hope the air is clear for your run!

Cathy/wt: Thanks for confirming wallowing for me. :) I am so glad to hear your run went so well. I agree on the planning thing. A lot of teachers do lesson plans for the week on Sunday. That has never worked for me, so I do them every night based on what was accomplished that day. As a teacher, you have to change plans at the drop of a hat. You can't be anything but flexible. I am a structure person, but have learned that you just have to roll with whatever comes your way. I like my job, every day is different. Hope the DSL issues are solved pronto!!

Wendi: Blackberry sangria sounds delish, I would partake. Glad you had a nice evening with DSO and a great workout this morning!

Shelly: It was a perfect end to a busy day for me. I just love these people to pieces! We hadn't had anyone over in a while, so DH and I liked it. I could tell he was excited to have people over. Nothing like a good run to clear your thoughts and mentality. I hope your day is fun and tolerable!! Ellie was having fun for a while and then just wanted to get away from the little guy. He is a handful, but oh so cute.

Wendy: Sounds like a fun night. I love seafood. Loved your comment about the boys annoying the girls! :) We had a great evening last night, thanks. Enjoy your CC today.

Last night was fun, but I was exhausted due to being non-stop yesterday. My friend was eyeing my bosu last night and asking me about it. I bet she will have one before the week is over! :) I like having a friend who likes working out too. Their little guy is one big ball of energy. Ellie can only tolerate so much so after a while we let her retreat to her bungalow. Hope all are having a fantastic Sunday! :) Not sure what I will do for a workout. BBL.

Just finished my work out. I nixxed the gym idea after all and did the following instead:

Extreme KB Cardio W/O: Slingshot and Turkish Get Up segments.
Ripped 1000: All cardio segments with 30 second recoveries between for HIIT effect.

Towards the end of the slingshot work out my back started to ache something fierce. I was using my 20# bell which is obviously too heavy for me for that segment. I tried going down to the 15# but it was too late so I walked out the last minute or 2. By the time the Turkish Get Up segment came on I was rarin' to go ahead. I just finished tellin' Christine in my previous post how I don't do TGU's very often cause I'm not sure of my form. Well Keith does quite a few and pretty slowly so he was easier to follow then some. I have it down now although I still need to watch the instructor while I do it or I get confused!:p I started doing them with 15# and upgraded to the 20# pretty quickly! The segment is comprised of 2 TGU's followed by an overhead squat and a windmill, then repeat on other side, and he did both sides 5 times each.It was TOUGH but doable. I was DRIPPING with sweat!}(

Well I'm done with my recovery drink and have 40 minutes before we are heading out the door so that means I need to hit the showers.

Be back later tonight most likely!

TaTa!

Wendy...well my DH does not think the turkey is a problem. See the conflict?..:D..It was still somewhat smoky at the lake so we only went 6...Enjoy your CC workout.

Dallas...a wild MEAN turkey!! I am enjoying P90X+. As far as legwork with long distances. Freestyle and heavy weight work have both worked for me. Right now I am concentrating on heavier as I feel I have lost some leg strength. Yes, skunks do kill chickens. I have always use Aquaphor for chafing issues. Enjoy your EXT, ab and stretch workout today.

Cathy...http://smilies.sofrayt.com/fsc/clap2.gif[/img] congrats on the 13 miles!!!!! Now get that DSL guy to work!

Gloria...I guess a black bear would be the best predator for a porcupine...yuk!! Glad you had fun last night.

Well we did still have some smoke for the lake run. I was feeling rather beat, not sure if it was due to the endless smoky conditions or just a bad day. We went 6 miles. It feels good now...:D

Hope Christine is doing well!!

I'm back up & running! http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/hapydancsmil.gif Yippee!

Carole :: http://www.millan.net/minimations/smileys/turkeydance2.gif glad you got in a good 6-miler despite the smoke. I bet having to breathe in the subpar air all this time would take a toll on the lungs, for sure. Awesome that you are still gettin' out there for your runs.

Dallas :: yeowch! I cringed in empathy with you on getting up off of that leather seat! That sounds even more painful than the shower!...I use Balmex--as a mom, you probably know it--it's for diaper rash. *lol*

Gloria :: You are absolutely right that we can't be anything BUT flexible on the job...that has been good for me to learn...and I do think that skill transfers well into regular life. I usually do plan for the week ahead, but I have to make tweaks during the week. A lot of ideas come to me "on the fly." Glad you enjoyed entertaining your friends last night.

Wendy :: I do remember you missing your first race on account of crazy weather. Glad last night's imbibing didn't do too much damage.

Can't wait to hear from Christine!

Quick note to say I'm done!!! It was nice and I had a great time!! I'm enjoying a beer and some good company. Full report later.

Cathy...so nice to see you back!! Thanks re my running in the nasty air. (love the turkey!)

Christine...congrats!! http://smilies.sofrayt.com/sae/beer.gif[/img]

So I made up for not running real far by yardwork! About 90 min of raking leaves and trimming huge bushes....I saw the Big Bomber is back here from Big Sur. Hope they can get it out on our fires now...:)

Carole: 6 miles is great in those conditions. Some days the energy just isn't there.

Cathy: Glad the Internet is back up and running! IA that the flexibility transfers into regular life too. I get ideas in the middle of a lesson too. :) I think it goes along with experience.

Christine: I bet that cold beer is tasting mighty fine. I will have one for you tonight! :) CONGRATULATIONS GIRL!!!!!! :) :) Can't wait for the full report.

I didn't work out today. It is cool and dark outside so I took a nap. Just feel like relaxing and curling up in a blanket. 5 days of working out this week is fine with me. I will have to go to the flyshop with DH tomorrow so I can go pick up my car when it's done. I will be checking in, just not sure when. My favorite show is on at 10 so I am going to try to stay up for that. Have a super evening everyone! :)
