cxt 10-10-10

ok-- I did this for the first time today.. I have been doing Cathe vids for a while, consider myself familiar with her style,intensity,etc.. I have made it thru Body max, Intervalmax, Cardio Kix, and all the other tough ones.. I also have done the Kickbox/bicep tape, yet this one (10-10-10) just about killed me.. How can I get thru IM without batting an eyelash (after many months of workoing up to that point where I am not Dying from IM!) and yet, this 10-10-10 thing comes along and annihilates me?? How can this be? Anyone else besides me think this is one hard workout?

I agree, it's tough!!!!!

In my opinion, it's the toughest cardio of the CTX series. Power Circuit is also pretty tough, but in my mind is in a different "category" cuz of using the barbell and being a circuit-workout. But for pure cardio, 10-10-10 really whups me!!

I think it's cuz of the hi/lo...and for that matter, the kickbox is pretty "jumpy" as well.......there is NO WAY to do all that jumping and "hi-knees" and plyoing etc. without getting your heartrate REALLY up there!!!!!!! It is always such a relief when we get to finally do the STEP portion, it feels so easy after all that hi intensity stuff!

RE: I agree, it's tough!!!!!

I just did this one this morning (cardio only) and I think it's my favorite of the 6 pack. I think the tempo is VERY fast, especially the hi-lo with the mambo/pivot/jog, but it is SO much fun! Plus the intensity from the double ricochets and power 15's.
This was my fourth run through it, though, so it felt tough but fun, not annihilating...I bet you will find the same thing by your second or third time.

Have fun! I'm planning to switch to a non-CTX rotation halfway through November, but I know I will keep keep sneaking the cardio portion of this one in!

We are Women - We are Invincible!

Sophie - I'm not quite at your level of mastery of 10-10-10 but I agree it is fun - and, I feel very proud (okay...and a teeny bit smug ;-)) of myself when I finish (same feeling from IMax).

I have the 8 new videos but after hearing how convenient the DVD's are, I've beeing flirting with the idea of ordering those - of course I'd have to buy a DVD player - but hey - can't put a price on my health, or my sanity. Now that the DVD's have been released, I'm going to have to get serious.

Also, I wanted to say "thanks so much" for your detailed and very helpful response to my yoga question that you gave on the open discussion forum. It's the best advice I've had yet and funny too (the "woo-woo" factor :)).

Thanks for taking the time and I'd be interested in knowing what your new rotation will be.
