Cute Kid/Cathe Story

I thought some of you might enjoy this. . .

My husband, kids (ages 8 & 10) and I were at a local waterpark the other day hiking up to the top of a waterslide carrying our 2 person rafts. My husband and daughter were carrying 1 raft; my son and I were carrying a different raft. I didn't hear the actual conversation but here's what my husband told me later.

Daughter: "Dad, no offense but I wish I was going on this ride with Mom instead."

Husband: "Oh, why's that?"

Daughter: "Because she works out!"

Me: :)
Husband: x(

Luckily, my husband has a good sense of humor about these things and didn't mind basically being called a wuss by his own daughter! BTW, hubby does workout - just not as regularly as I do and a broken toe has had him sidelined for a couple weeks.

That's priceless. Good thing he has a sense of humor. Some men would not like that at all!:7 Well that is a great compliment from your daughter. All that hard work is paying off!

I love the story--thanks for sharing.

I have a very thin husband who doesn't work out. It's maddening that he doesn't exercise but is still in fairly good shape. But I'll admit an evil sense of satisfaction when I can best him at something. And I was very flattered when my 10-year-old son told me the other day that he thought I was really strong.

I really want my kids to appreciate the many benefits of exercise. Hopefully we're setting a good example for the next generation.;)

That's awesome! Maybe you will inspire your daughter to be a Catheite when she grows up! It's never too early for Bootcamp! :)

Well, she can already do the levitation holds in CoreMax AND swing her little butt back and forth so maybe she is on her way! ;-)

It's funny you should mention Boot Camp because one day last winter I was trying to get my kids to exercise a little bit indoors since it was too cold to go outside. I figured they would like BC with all the kickboxing since both have taken Tae Kwon Do before. They were a little frustrated with the choreography until I told them to do their own thing. Then of course they were HI-YAing all over the place!

They pooped out on me around cycle 3 or 4 and left me alone - kind of like Cathe at the end of BodyMax when everyone has abandoned her and she's left doing abs by herself!

:) I love it! That is so cute! Kids say the darndest things!
You are setting a great example for her! And even now, your husband may catch on!
