CTX Upper Body pushups

I just did the CTX Upper Body workout this morning - is that a superb workout, or what? It really "gets in there!" as Cathe says. Does anyone else find the pushup sequence to be her most challenging of all? In every other workout I can do all of her pushups with straight legs, but for this one, I always have to finish the last few reps on my knees.

I used to think this one was the most challenging one, but have you tried the one on Timesaver??? I can't finish that one with a straight leg, and it may be awhile before I can!
 
Funny that you bring this up. I just got this dvd and tried the upper body split for the first time this past week. I thought the same thing about the pushups and I was on my knees when I have never had to do that beforex( I also had trouble with the tricep pushups and bench press but I'm hoping this will pass once I get adjusted to the workout. I've been doing more strength workouts lately so when I switch it up to endurance based workouts, I really get fatigued quickly but that's the great thing about variety and muscle confusion.

Yes, I did this once a long while back when I tried all the TimeSaver weights as an upper body routine. I remember that I managed to struggle through with straight legs, but still found it to be quite a challenge. I wonder if it's all the bench presses in CTX that just wear me out for the push ups? Regardless, I'm still mystified that Cathe loves pushups so much.

CTX was my first Cathe strength training workout I ever tried, and it wasn't until I gradually purchased all the rest of her strength workouts that I realized just how intense this workout is, relatively speaking. When I first did the bench presses, I could only use my bar - no weights attached! I'm pleased to report that I've progressed to using 30 - 35 lbs for the bench presses now, but those push ups still stymie me. One day, one day......:)

CTX UPPER BODY IS AWESOME. I HOPE CATHE USE THE PREMIXES IN THE HARDCORE SERIES.I THINK THE SAME THING ABOUT THE PUSHUPS BUT I AM A NEWBIE HERE. I HAVE USED THE FIRM DURING A YEAR WITH WITH LIGHT WEIGHTS BECAUSE I WAS MORE INTERESTED IN CARDIO BECAUSE I WANT TO LOOSE WEIGHT.
 
I had SUCH a hard time doing push-ups in BodyMax...Wow. Cathe is sooo tough!! :) But then, I'm not good at push-ups at all. Have to do them on my knees still. Oh well. Getting better I guess.

Good attitude, Dana! When I am in the middle of something that feels extremely tough, I always tell myself that it won't get easier by not doing it at all - the only way it gets easier is by "doing it anyway".

My favourite Cathe quote is her IMAX2 exclamation: "I know you're tired, but jump HIGHER!"
