Crosstrainer series

Hi! I was wondering if any of you guys (including Cathe!) would mind sharing how you use the Crosstrainer series. Do you do the videos straight through, all six each week, or do you break them up. I am (very seriously) considering purchasing the CTX DVD and it seems there will be endless possiblities for mixing things up. I was thinking you could do each workout once a week all the way through or do only the cardios/abs and then do Leaner Legs and the Upper Body Split (DVD option only) each once a week (or twice if you want). I was just wondering how others have done it.

Also, I have the Power Hour/MIS/BodyMax DVD, Step Heat, Cardio Kicks, MIC, and Circuit Max. I do not have any problems with these videos, but some of Cathe's more intricate moves (especially on tapes where she does not re-teach the move) trip me up. (Plus, I work out in the mornings, when my reflexes are the best, so I can flub around a little at first.) Is the cheorography in the CTX series really hard?

Thanks,
April

Hi April,

It's Emily, Christian's wife! I don't have the DVDs, but I really wish I did. I am currently doing an all CTX rotation using all six videos, and it's been working out pretty well. I have so little time to workout with the baby and everything, so this has been great. I have used just the weight portions tacked on to other cardio and weight segments, and I think it would have been really wonderful to have them on DVD for that. One day, we will catch up with technology and buy a DVD player, but for now, we'll remain in the Dark Ages :) Anyway, I think you should buy the series. The choreography, in my opinion, isn't that difficult to learn if you are familiar with Cathe's other tapes. Most of it is stuff she has used before, I think. Good luck!

Emily

P.S. We need to get together soon!

Hi April,

I just wanted to plug the CTX series, I just bought the CTX DVD - I'm pretty new to Cathe, before this I'd only done Power Hour and Cardio Kicks (LOVE THEM) but my sister has sworn by her for years and suggested I try the CTX series. Anyway I did the 10-10-10 one for the first time the other night and I LOVED it - I also watched the cardio parts of the other dvds. The choreography is fun but not too difficult, I've never been much of a stepper so that part was a bit harder but nothing crazy, and I used to watch my sister do some of the step tapes you mentioned, if you can do those you can do these. There is one section I think on Power Circuit that is kickboxing on the step which looked so cool!! I'm an avid kickboxer and take martial arts classes and these DVDs are a nice change of pace for me! I really recommend the CTX DVDs, worth every penny!
