Crazy, strong & loving it for September!!

Today I did STS Total Body but did the Upper Body only premix. Had an ok workout. On some of the exercises I did 12/12 reps instead of 16/12 rep in the triset. Went light with the weights.

Boring, I know. Trying to get back into this. I'm not feeling it right now.

Roxie - Hope that toe heals soon! Ouch! That must hurt!!!

Belinda - Hope all went will with your doctor's appointment yesterday. Sorry to hear your kids are sick.

Chris - Good hearing from you! Sorry you are struggling with your boys. Hope things get better.

Nora - Nice workout girl! You ROCK!!!! :eek:
 
Good morning,

Yesterday I went to the doc for my heal spur/PF, I got another cortisone shot in my foot You can't get more shots than 3 a year, it will weaken you tissue in your foot. The next step is, he want's me to go to physical therapy. My IT bands and ankle is so tightThe doc was surprised the shot didn't lasted for longer than a few weeks Him and me both I could't sleep last night, I have shooting pain in my foot. This heal spur/PF is the worst I have ever had. I hope getting 3 cortisone shot will do the trick If the physical therapy and the shot doesn't work, I need surgery on my foot. I hope not

I will continue with STS, but will modify as needed. As far as cardio, I will keep it low impact.

Today's workout is: Jessica Smith " Floor Barre" = 31 min.

Belinda: Does the doctor recommend no impact? Or low impact is ok? Surgery seems so extreme!! Hope it gets better!

I pulled my hamstring last night wasn't sure if it was good to go for any glute type work so I skipped the ball and chair part of Xtrain Legs. The right hamstring got pulled yesterday I think it was a mild pull because I could massage it out a bit and gently stretches helped but I thought it best to play it safe today with my workout. My ankle is still swollen (I injured it about 10 days or so ago) and has a bump on it. The injury is where the tongue of your workout shoes laced and tied touches the front. I'm not sure if its badly sprained, torn ligament or fractured. Its a weird part of the ankle to injure. It doesn't hurt unless something bumps it and I can walk and workout on it, its just a weird injury. Oh well, I don't want to go to the doctor because he'll probably want to Xray it and I don't need more bills. I know taking it easy and not doing anything that makes it hurt is key which I have been doing. I did get a workout in and its was pretty good considering.

Chris- HI:D How are you? Nice workout there with HiiT30/30 that will get the blood circulating that's for sure. Great job on your workout. Glad to hear things are better for you with the kids back in school. I see you mentioned the boys had their B-day's. I hope things are improving and the kids are in better moods and not grouchy. It seems raising boys can really be challenging and a test of wills and patients even in the best of us. I guess we just have to hang in there and pray for this teenage angst phase to pass. I'm in the trenches with ya there girlfriend, Take care!;)

Belinda- Wow, I'm sorry to hear that your in so much pain with your heal spur/PF that its tough to sleep. Yes on the cortisone shots I knew they like to limit those for a good reason they are a steriod based drug and can only be used very short term. I know doctors don't like to prescribe it in pill form or shot form. How steriods like cortizone work is it helps to reduce swelling and encourages healing building tissues and after it does that it starts breaking it down thats why doctors closely monitor the use of cortizone and don't like to prescribe it frequently. Yikes on surgery, I hate surgery and try to avoid it. I wish you all the best with your Heal and PF situation and sending you healing wishes and prayers. I would see if working out is ok with doctor even low impact stuff. Its good you are staying away from high impact cardio that's smart please be careful. Oh do you have a stationary bike that would be no impact cardio, just a thought. Take care and be careful.;):)

Just feeling tired and sort of out of it today. Oh well, that happens to everyone. Nice workout today even though you weren't as into it as you'd like. Roxie- Ugh, you broke your baby toe that is so not fun. I've done that a few times just rest and try not to do anything that causes pain or puts stress on it. Hang in there girlfriend and be well ASAP!;)

I haven't worked out yet plan on doing Xtrain legs but not the whole thing. Its hot here again up in the 90's the last two days.

Nora-not the little one the one right next to it I have it taped to another toe. Good job with your workout.

Belinda-I think you should try a night splint I think it would help.

Chris-good job with your workout.

Debbie-sounds like you need another wt workout.
 
No workout today. Just didn't feel like getting up. These sinus night tabs are killing me.

Belinda - You should really start doing some yoga or stretch workouts for a while. If your body is that tight, it won't get better unless you stretch. It might not help your PF but it should help your IT Band, etc. Think about it. I think you need to lay off the high impact for a while and take care of your body.

Nora - Sorry about that hamstring. Take it easy and let it heal. That could turn into something bad. Hamstrings are hard to heal if you end up tearing them.

Chris - Yes, I may have to start doing something different. Getting bored again.

Roxie - Hope you are doing well!!! :)

I did Xtrain Bis and Tris and since the toe is hurting worse today I did KCM's Start Here Cardio but it still aggravated it so I might just have to cut out the cardio for a while which sucks because my DD told me she noticed I had put on alot of wt lately I guess due to stress.

Debbie-I know how you feel I am not really in the workout mood anymore I really have to push myself and if its a leg day its probably not going to happen I just don't like working legs.

Debbie: Do you still have weight lifting routines you had put together that you did freestyle? I know you wouldn't lift near the heaviness like you did then, due to the injuries you ended up with, but maybe you could either modify them, or make up new ones. Just to keep it fresh and fun?! Or maybe find a few of Cathe's you could do too.

Nora: thanks. yes , there really are no words or warnings for teenagers. People would say stuff, but you just don't know until you experience it. And it sucks! :eek: ... I'm with you on holding off on the doctor. The bills are outrageous lately. Our oldest son got into a fist fight the end of last year at school, and we were advised to bring him to the ER and he ended up with xrays AND a CT scan. the bills were freakin through the roof. And he was fine in the end. Nothing wrong, nothing broken. (he had a black eye). I swear, I have been putting off an eye exam for the same reason too. I know Iprobably need glasses.For now , I'm getting by on reading glasses. *sigh*

Belinda: The brace I use at night really does help with the PF pain. Here's the link, in case you wanted to check it out. I know you are under doctor's care, so I would go with what he advises more than me, and your foot is worse than mine, but this really helps me not get the "zing" in the morning .

Chris- Great job on GS Chest and Triceps and abs from HS Challenge, sounds like a killer workout to me girlfriend, WTG!!!!:D I do think I'll hold off on going to the doctor I really can't afford doctor bills, Xrays etc... I'd just like to be able to afford food comfortably and not have to ration or dole it out like that. Oh well, right do what we can with what we have and pray like crazy for a positive change. I've been doing a lot of praying lately especially about getting a lab back that was positive for elevated levels of HPV. I have to go back in February for re-exam and pap test, oh yeah. I have been so scared about this and this result doesn't even make sense given my situation. So, I'm praying I'll get a clean bill of health in February and appreciate all the positive vibes and prayers I can on that. Yes, teenage boys are tough to raise. Anyone who tells you otherwise doesn't have teenage boys, ugh!!! I'm so right there in the trenches with ya girlfriend. Hang in there, we'll make it through this. ((Hugs));)

Roxie- So sorry the toe is still hurting and making things difficult for you. Please be careful and avoid any exercises that irritate or hurt the injured toe. Great job on the Xtrain Bi's and Tri's!!! At least the weight work doesn't bother it. I'd opt for resting the toe as much as possible.

Debbie- Sorry your still having sinus issues and the night time sinus meds leave you feeling so out of it the next morning. I know what that is like, so not fun. Good for you taking a rest day it is probably just what your body needs so rest and enjoy. Thanks for your words about the hamstring injury. I've been taking it easy and skipping any moves that make it feel tight or hurt or looks like it will. I do not like pain at all. Take care and savor the resting part. ;):)

Belinda- I read what Debbie said and I agree with her maybe some yoga stretches or pilates would be a welcomed relief for heal spur/PF. Please take care and feel better.;):)

I did the standing cardio of AOLIH and 30 minutes on the TM toe allowed me to walk but didn't like the other cardio. I am not feeling very well but not exactly sure what is wrong.

Sorry for not checkin in since Friday. I did finish up this weeks STS workouts and Jessica's Smith Fall Challenge. I did modify a lot. For D22 legs, I had to skip the calve raises. As you all know, I had another Cortisone shot for my PF/heal spur Thursday. My achilles/IT bands are killing me, no matter how much I stretch, rest and ice it I did bought the PF brace from CVS yesterday. I tried the brace last night and it was too painful to use it. I haven't had a good night sleep since last week. I don't know how to position my leg without hurting it, I am in tears. And it's driving me crazy.If it doesn't stop I have my husband take me to the hospital here in town. I also been taking Ibuprofen and muscle relaxer, nothing is helping the pain/cramping in my heal spur/achilles/IT bands. Thanks for all your recommendations:D

Belinda - You need to give your body a break. You never take rest weeks and YOU NEED TO! Your body is telling you it can't do anymore. Do some yoga, stretching and heat/ice. It will take more than one stretch workout to loosen those muscles. Take care of yourself. I suggest you take at least two weeks off. Do nothing but stretching. You have to get your muscles back to a relaxed, flexible state. Praying for you girlfriend!

I did Xtrain Legs today which I usually try not to do and then I walked on the TM for 30 minutes and then Total Body Stretching Basic Stretch #1. My toe hurts a little I overdid it.

Belinda- Don't worry about workouts right now, you need to really take care of your body right now and not cause any pain to your heal or PF situations. That needs to be a priority right now. You got to let that heal and rest and avoid pain altogether, so please be careful with you right now. Rest girlfriend you can worry about workouts when you feel better and don't have this nasty pain and doctor says its ok. Now having said that you do realize we still want to hear from you at check ins even if there is no workout to report we just want to hear from you. I'll be sending you healing hugs and prayers for your foot. Take care girlfriend.;):)

After sitting on my butt and resting my foot all day, I finally did yoga with Jill Miller Yoga Tune Up Athletic stretch = 20 min (really like that one) and Jessica Smith Shape Pink Power Flat Abs " Abs REHAB" = 10 min.


Nora and Debbie - thanks you.I will follow your advice:D I had a lot of cramping in my right foot last night:eek: My foot is hurting mostly at night when I sleep:eek: My foot is numb since I had the shot :eek: Called the doc, but he never got back with me:eek: If he doesn't call by tomorrow I will see my family doctor this week.

Today I did Push/Pull. Had an ok workout. I like this workout. I did total body today because I have to be at work by 7 a.m. Thursday so I'll miss one of my lifting sessions. Thought I'd just do it all today.

Belinda - Please take a few weeks off. I promise it will not hurt you. You need to take care of your body. I hope your doctor calls you back today. {{{HUGS}}}

Belinda- If your doctor hasn't called you back maybe you should call him and ask that he please return your call. Please do not workout just rest and focus on reducing pain. That needs to be your focus right now is healing getting well and no pain. The workouts will be there for you when you are well and able to do them without any pain, so just wait until then. Take care girlfriend and be well. I'll send your way some healing prayers and wishes. Take care;):cool:

Good afternoon,

This morning I did Yoga Tune Up with Jill Miller "Feet and Ankles" = 17 min. This afternoon I did Yoga Tune Up Quick Fix "Knee Hab" 1 (13 min) and 2 (15 min). Love these workouts, my foot feels great afterwards. I have a doc appointment for my foot tomorrow morning:D

Nora - you are so sweet:D The doc called this morning. I have a appointment tomorrow morning. Can't wait what he has to say:confused: No worries, I been good....no workouts until my foot is better. I could do some UB workout as long as I stay off my foot? I will not do any weight workouts for my lower body until my foot is better. I agree with you and Debbie:D My body needs the rest! Fantastic job this afternoon. I agree with Debbie, please take a week off. It will not hurt you.
