CRAZY STRONG & LOVING IT FOR NOV 23, 2010

Good morning ladies,

I will do some yoga/stretching today! I should take it easy this week:p

Have a great workout and day, everyone! BBL!

Well, I can still move my arms today. I thought I'd be more sore. I remember not being able to move after my first STS workout. Of course, the day is still young! I am hoping to do the shoulders from D1 at lunch. Here's my dilemma, I want to run this week, but it's supposed to rain Thurs. I was going to workout Thurs though, wanted to maybe do legs tonight and rest tomorrow, but tomorrow it might clear up enough for a run. I've got to schedule in a rest day, just not sure where. Can't the weather just cooperate at all times???

Belinda - enjoy actually taking it easy today!

Roxie - I love the abs from that disc. Such a good one.

Nora - hope your ankle is ok. Very jealous you got your package already. I got a notice that mine shipped yesterday.

Waves to everyone that follows!!!

Well - I'm ridiculously sore today. M2 kicked my butt yesterday!! I LOVE IT!! Tho - I will say, probably not the best move to do Kick this morning. Those hooks were KILLING my chest muscles (they are the most sore) but it actually did do its job in loosening me up a bit. But still. Holy DOMS!

AND I got my new Cathe workouts last night!! DYING to try them but not sure how or where I'll fit them into my STS rotation. Hmmm. I was tempted to try Intensity this morning but figured it would wreak havoc on my legs and I want them to be as fresh as possible for the 5-miler I'm running on Turkey day.

How are you guys gonna work the new workouts into your rotation? Seems a lot of us are doing STS too so I'm interested in your plans for the new stuff :)

Belinda - enjoy that yoga! and the relaxing recovery week :)

Heather -hmm, if it's going to rain Thurs, maybe make it your rest day and run on Wed instead?? I hear you on the DOMS stuff, I swear, now that I'm in M2, I am WAY more sore than I remember being in M2 vs. M1! Maybe we're just stronger than we think this time around??

Today was cardio and I received my new Cathe workouts yesterday. Thought I'd give Intensity a try so I chose the Step/Hiit Lo premix. Didn't like it. Too much jumping, plyos, etc. I should have known this workout would be like this. I did about 20 minutes of it and then said screw it. My right knee started to bother me and I figured it wasn't worth it.

Pulled out a workout I have never done before. It's Cathe's Low Impact Step - the one where she has the really small step instead of the regular long one. It was a pretty basic step workout but I got my HR up pretty well by making some of the moves power moves. It was a fun workout.

Then I did the Ab work from High Reps. That was a real burner and one to work up too. I had a hard time getting all the way through it, especially because the tops of my legs were burning so bad. I'll be doing this one again and again. Loved it.

CARDIO STATS:
53 minutes total
2 minutes below zone
12 minutes in zone
38 minutes above zone
432 calories burned

Not too bad. I'll probably do Intensity again, but not sure it will be a favorite.

Good Morning,

Tonite for me is suppose to be TF 45EZ and Stretch 10 but I will have to wait and see if my head feels better might just have to do another low impact one.

Belinda-it is cold and cloudy here with snowflakes thrown in.

Debbie-I love LIS it really gets you good ecspecially if you do the lower body blast. Good Job with the ABS. Let me know how you like High Reps.

Heather-Thursday is Turkey Day take a rest day run today.

Jess-sounds like you had an awesome workout today.

Nora-forgot to tell you last night take care of that ankle.

Hi everyone. Sorry to be MIA for the past few days!

I'm taking a yoga class tonight. Feeling like I need to incorporate something different into my routine, which is getting way too "routine".:p I'll give it a whirl...

Belinda - are you enjoying your rest week so far?

Heather - I thought of you last night. DD and I went to the mall and had dinner at Ruby Tuesday's. I was literally giddy on the ride there in anticipation of the salad bar. Not ashamed to say that I went up twice... Good luck working around the weather!

Jessica - totally awesome that you are doing a 5-miler on T-day. Are you running in a race or just on your own?

Nora - I haven't read any previous posts, but I gather something happened to your ankle. I hope you are okay!

Debbie - no-go on Intensity, huh?!?! That's a bummer. I didn't order any of the new ones. Nothing really jumped out at me. I still haven't gotten through all of the STS Cardio workouts yet...

Hi Roxie & Chris.

Roxie - I forgot to mention, I worked my abs again today too ;-)

Debbie -total bummer to hear that about Intensity! I don't LOVE plyo moves either so I wonder if I won't love it either...the weight workouts look awesome tho, dying to try them!

Melissa - I'm running a 5-miler in Salem, the Wild Turkey Run. It's my third year running it, its a ton of fun!! And PS. Don't feel bad about not having all the STS Cardio workouts, I honestly didn't love most of them...which is sad because there are basically NO Cathe workouts I haven't loved, except some of those. Weird right?

Melissa - You can always count on me going back to the salad bar twice (maybe even a 3rd time)!!!

Hi Roxie & Chris.

Hi Girls..

Sorry I didn't get back yesterday... Just not enough time in the day and I get distracted!

I was VERY excited to get Cathe's new DVDs yesterday!!!! How quick was that? Kind of like magic since they JUST shipped them out Saturday, rigth? :eek
I could not resist doing Intensity today!!! In contrast to Debbie, I did love it! I have to say , of all 3 segments (Step, HiiT and Lo Hiit), the STep was the hardest in Intensity for me! Crazy , right? There was a lot of jumping and not much "dancy" stuff. I liked it though. And then the HiiT was a variety of different moves, that I LOVED! Some were different. Loved the frog jump! I'd say the HiiT in this one is not as intense as the STS Intervals. The Lo Hiit was a NICE ending though! Intensity went way down with these, but it was good, because it was the last segment. ...

I also did the Abs from High Reps!!!. I said the exact same thing, Debbie. GREAT workout, but definitely going to have to work my way up to getting in all those reps. I had to keep one foot on the floor for the split leg crunches!

Belinda: "Enjoy" your rest week. Maybe some yoga? I saw that you mentioned it snowed there! YIKES! I'm just not ready (will I ever be??) this year...

Debbie: Sorry you didn't like Intensity. Was it the Step that was too high impact? The Lo HiiT is VERY low impact. Cool moves, I thought.

Roxie: Sounds like a good workout plan for tonight!

Jessica: It's funny, after the first few workouts from Meso 1 and THEN Meso 2, I'm DYING with DOMS! Kind of cool it does that to you, right? ... I guess I'm going to stick with STS for now, and throw in Intensity. I'm going to save High Reps and Lower Body Blast for after STS is done, which will bring me to January, I think. ALthough I may sub in Lower Body Blast for a Meso 3 lower body workout!

Heather: Yes, weather is a PIA when it comes to running, isn't it? I'd say take the rest day on Thursday. And have a GOOD long run on Wednesday! . I'm excited you started STS again!!! That's cool how you have worked it out to work with YOUR schedule. I am in love with STS, all over again!

Melissa: I know, I really should do more yoga too! That's awesome you took a class! .. So Ruby tuesday has an awesome salad bar? What makes it so good?

Nora: Sorry to hear about your ankle!!! Take care of it. I hate injuries that sideline me from my workouts. I hope it was just a minor twist. :( ... YAY for the new DVDs and Power Tower! I Love using my Power Tower (got it a few weeks ago myself). The pull ups are AWESOMEly harder! and I like it a lot for a weight rack since I couldn't use my work bench the way it is in my workout room (crunched in the corner). And it looks like the tower will come in handy for the new workouts too!!!

Ohhh good idea about subbing in LBB for a leg workout in M3. I may have to try that when I get there!

I'm glad you liked Intensity, I'll have to give it a whirl soon and let you all know what I thought. So cool how fast they arrived!

Back from my lunch workout. Did shoulders from M1D1. Had a pretty good workout. Forgot what my lighter weights looked like but man am I feeling it. Funny how that can work!

Alternating Seated Overhead Shoulder Press (dumbbell) - 15's
Seated Rear Delts (dumbbell) - 10's
Bonus Band Pulls
Incline Front Raise on Stability Ball (dumbbell) - 10's
Seated Lateral Raise Both Arms High Ends (dumbbell) - 8's (tried 10's LOL)
Side Leaning Lateral Raise (dumbbell) - 5's
Seated Overhead Press (dumbbell) - 15's
Seated Front Press Double Arms 1.5\'s (barbell) - 13's (dumbbells)
Incline Rear Raise on Stability Ball (dumbbell) - 8's

Goes to show you that heavy weights aren't always what gives you a burn - or takes you down! Ouch.

Ok - so jealous of you guys who've gotten you DVDs, mine are due to arrive until the 30th!

Also, in response to when to run it's also about fitting in legs. I remember hardly being able to walk from M1 legs....Maybe I'm being dramatic in my memory

YES! Don't attempt legs the day before a run, you'll regret it. Those M1 legs are killer! Well...all the STS leg workouts leave me wimpering after, not gonna lie ;)

Jessica - that's why the big debate I have going on as when to try to run and when to take the rest day darn it. I would love to do the legs after work and rest tomorrow b/c I don't know if I'll have time to do legs tomorrow and rest Thursday. But if I rest tomorrow, chances are the weather won't allow for a run on Thursday. See the problem.

Yes, I see the problem, you crack me up.

How about: run tomorrow, legs thursday?? Or did we already discuss this option - can you take Fri as your rest day instead?

Jessica - You can laugh but I KNOW you understand!! Friday is supposed to be nice weather so I know I'll want to get out for a run - especially after Thursday ;)

I think we might get out early tomorrow, but it's one of those things that you just don't bank on. If I knew for sure, I'd run at lunch then do legs after work and take Thursday as a crippled recovery day. I should have done legs yesterday and recovered today. Bad planning.

HA! I love it "crippled" rest day. Too funny.

Meanwhile, I'm contemplating getting my back/bi's done tonight since the hubs won't be home until later than expected and I'd rather get it done today vs. tomorrow after work (we get out at noon so was going to hit Ride in the AM and get back/bi's done in the afternoon). I'm so sore from Monday but sort of feel like I might as well get it done today and deal with full upper body DOMS tomorrow??

yes. we're crazy.

Hi girls;)

I just finished my workout. I didn't dare add-on to it like I usually do because my right ankle still sore and a bit swollen.

Here's today's workout:

CTX-LL= 49 Min
Calories burned= 509
Met Value= 7.0

So, nothing wow to report on the workout today or calories burned. I lifted the same as Cathe on LL. LL is a tough workout on the legs but really excellently thorough. Loved it~:D

Have a great day girls and excellent job on today's workouts, and if it was a rest day I hope you rested and had fun today. See ya at tomorrows workout.

Hugs~:);)
