Good morning,

Browler my dog is getting surgery this morning:( I will do cardio this evening!

Today was cardio. I have come to the conclusion that HIIT workouts just aren't my thing anymore. I chose IMAX 2 and even though I should have stopped and put something else in, I just stuck with it and did the best I could. My HR was fine, but my breathing was aweful. Not sure why? I tried to have a good workout and enjoy it, but it was truly hard to do that today.

Worked up a good sweat, though, and got the entire workout in.

That's another thing that bothers me about IMAX 2 - the lower calorie burns. I can do an hour of KB or on my treadmill and mostly always get to 500 calories. IMAX 2 is just a hard workout and the calorie burn doesn't justify that imo.

Use to love this workout, use to do it with energy and hardly any heavy breathing. Today that was impossible.

I said I wouldn't complain about doing cardio and even though this sounds like a complaint, it's really not. It's just something I realized - that I just don't like HIIT anymore.

Belinda - Whats wrong with Browler? :(

Hi Everyone..

Hanging in there here. Even though it's frigid cold, snowed a few inches this morning, and we're getting a BIGGER storm tomorrow night. But at least they had full day of school (except my oldest, who had finals, and was let out a 9am).

Yesterday I did STS Total Body Upper Body premix for the first time. I had WICKED DOMS today! Holy moly, my shoulders and upper back especially. AND forearms. Yowza! And , like everyone else has said, the triceps were nonexistant on this one! ONE exercise, which was dips. Really? that's IT? I do have High Reps on tap for later this week, and THAT one has mega tricep work, so I guess I'll make up for it.

Today I did cardio, which was Turbo Fire 60 Class. Another YOWZA! Craziness, sweatfest, funfest! I have missed the FIYAH! I added on Abs 10 too. I'm getting better at that one!

Belinda: Oh no! Sorry to hear about your poochie! hope he's ok, let us know! And have a fun cardio tonight.

Debbie: Hmmm. I'm sorry IMAX 2 was a disappointment. I do know, though, that interval cardio is a bigger calorie burn than what it says on your HRM. With the intervals, it keeps your body revved up for more of the day, and you burn more than usual. That's what I've read and heard anyways. So if there's any consolation to your "crappy" workout. I know I've said it before to ALL of you, but I bet ANYTHING you'd love Turbo Fire for cardio! Too bad you couldn't give it a try, because I know you'd have new excited feelings about cardio if you did! :)

Roxie: 200 crunches!! Ouch! I bet you're feeling it today.. Have a great KPC and lower body workout tonight!

Nora: thanks for commiserating on the teenage drama. Of course, the "come to Jesus" talk happened today. We've done this before. He apologizes and says he wants to try harder, and it slowly (or quickly) fizzles out. Tough years, seriously. I think more for moms/sons, ya know? Lots of tension. Lots. Great job on Intensity yesterday! Again! You've been doing that one alot!

Today has NOT been a good day. First I got up with NO URGE to workout, was so tired, SO tired. BUT you'll be proud - I got 'er done anyway. I did another interval/speed workout on the treadmill. Ended up being a REALLY good workout so I'm glad I sucked it up afterall. But THEN, it took me TWO AND A HALF HOURS to get to the office today. Why? Because we got hit with a measly inch of snow during the morning commute. REALLY??? I was SO pissed. I left my house at 7:20 and didn't get to work until 10. I mean C'MON that is ridic!! So we're expecting more snow tomorrow nite/Wed AM and I am NOT dealing with it. I'll just have to work from home on days like that, or come into work late, working from home in the AM next time. I am still so angry just thinking about that commute! I cringe at having to get back into the car tonight. wahh. :(

Sorry..had to rant!

Belinda - I hope your pup is ok!

Roxie - good luck with your workout!

Debbie - booo on the frustrating cardio workout. BUT at least now you KNOW what you DON'T like cardio-wise and can steer clear of those HiiT style workouts? A silver lining at least.

Nora - nice workout last night! You are right, Core Fusion Boot Camp is intense but its AWESOME, and a nice change of pace. I was dying - which is funny to say since it's not your typical cardio workout that we're used to doing, ya know? Let me know what you think of it!

Chris - are you HATING this snow as much as me?? I'm with you on STS Totaly Body - LOVE that workout but wish they had more tri work in there. High reps is KILLER! Can't wait to do both of those again!!

Thanks for the thoughts & prayers today:D The surgery went well today. Browler had a hard time waking up. He was so confused, I guess:confused: I felt so sorry for him. Even my other dog got scard, he ran away from Browler:eek:I couldn't calm him down after we got home from the vet, so I layed down with him, which helped. Didn't get much done today, had to watch him so he doesn't hurt or bite the stiches. He is such a good dog:) He wasn't allowed to eat for 24 hours, he was bagging me for food:confused: I ended up giving him a little, he kept it down.

I did ended up doing a short workout this evening, I did CTX KB! I was working out in my living room, so I can keep in eye on Browler.

Debbie - sorry, about IMAX 2 today! Maybe you need new workouts/ideas for cardio? Browler had 3 cysts (?) which need to get removed plus since he was out, we had his teeth cleaned too:eek: The stitches will come out in 10 days. Brolwer had 2 cysts on his neck (not a good place) and one huge one on the side of his chest. I was afraid he had cancer, but the vet said it was fatty tissue. Happy for that!

Chris - Nice job on those DOMS! Glad you enjoyed STS TB. Still haven't done that one yet! Nice job, with your cardio wo today.

Roxie - wtg, on your workout this evening.

Nora - awesome job on 4DS KB + LBB!

I'm back for personals.

Belinda- I hope Browler is recovering nicely from his surgery, thank goodness there was no cancer. Give Browler a hug for me, the poor guy went through a lot today. I'm sure he appreciates your being a good dog mom and watching over him and the extra TLC. Great job on squeezing in a workout with CTX Kickbox while keeping an eye on Browler in the living room. I hope he is in better spirits tomorrow and back to his old self. Hugs!;)

Debbie- No worries with Imax 2 or HiiT not feeling like your thing right now. Just change up your workout for cardio with a different dvd. I like to do that alot then when I go back to those workouts after a long break it feels like a new fresh workout and its more fun then. Not to mention there are lots of enablers here me included maybe try Ilaria Montagnani kickboxing stuff she's great and its low impact which is nice on the knees. You always rock your workouts so stop being so hard on yourself, not every cardio day has to be calorie burning home run. I keep reminding myself of that with my obsession with big calorie burn workouts, as I'm sure you've noticed. Nice workout today!;)

Roxie- I hope you had a great workout with SS Lower body, and don't worry about missing KPC day everyone has stuff come up and has to put off a workout every now and then. Just have fun with your workouts and do what you can do.;)

Chris- Yay for the FIYAH! Awesome job and tons of fun with Turbo Fire 60 and Abs 10, WTG!!! I'm gonna have to do some TF Next week, I miss it! I hope that things get better with your son. I know what you mean about the talk and how things improve for a little bit then go back to how it was. I agree with you the mom and son thing with regards to the teen years seem tough, hang in there. I guess we have to think of it as a marathon and just get through each little bit at a time and eventually all of the yucky parts will be behind us as we move on and things get easier. That's what I keep telling myself anyways. Keep the faith and hang in there. Hugs!;):)

Jessica- Yikes, that is a ridiculous amount of time for your commute today because of the snow/ice. I don't blame you for being disgusted about that, grr that would make anyone grumpy. Its good though that you can work from home if this happens again, either way please drive carefully. Bravo on getting in a workout today doing Interval/Speed work on the TM today, WTG girl!;):)
