Crazy strong & loving it for Feb 4, 2011

I would say Happy Friday. But mine started off with my car being stolen from my driveway. It's freezing out and snowing now. Sigh...

Last night I hit the gym and got my training run done.

5 miles, 4 x 1:30 hill intervals, 6 pickups for a total of 7 miles.

Today is a much needed rest day for me.

Roxie - good job with that workout last night - we're getting snow here right now...

Nora - hope you get some rest tonight (maybe a nap today)

Belinda - Hope it was a good workout!

Debbie - how's the knee today?

Chris - how are you today? How's your son doing?

Jessica - are you rested up today for CF???
 
Today I decided to do Karen Voight's Yoga Stretch from the Yoga Focus DVD. Man I love that stretch workout. It's only 25 minutes long but I feel so good right now. I can really see how tight I've become, each pose was very difficult to do. My upper body especially. I was shocked at how tight my shoulder and neck muscles are.

It's really hard doing a serious stretch workout when you have three cats circling you like vultures. Good lord! After about 10 minutes they finally got bored and went and played with toys. Yeesh... Little buggers.

Heather - I have NO knee pain today! :D

Today I changed things up a bit because it doesn't look like i'll have time to work out tomorrow, so i did weights AND cardio. First, Intensity: Lo HiiT & Bootcamp Premix. First time for the Bootcamp segment. It was alright! i liked it! Very bootcamp-ish!. Afterwards, I did High Reps: Upper Body Premix. Burns the crap out of ALL my upper body muscles. Not so much chest AND , there was NO BACK on this premix. I checked lower premix, it's not there either! Abs was there , though, so those got done 2x this week! YAY ME!

Belinda: So today is your last weight day of Meso 1??? Holy cow, that went fast! Nice going!! SM is always a treat!

Heather: What?????!!!! your car got stolen? That's craziness! What kind of car was it? That's so horrible. I have nightmares about my car getting stolen. I don't know why, but it's recurrent nightmare, and I HATE that feeling. ((hugs)). You do deserve a 'rest' day!

Debbie: NICE job on the stretch! I have Karen Voights newer stretch DVD, it's set in Montana, outside. It's very nice. Good job this week getting that in! You will be accountable to us for at LEAST one LONG stretch a week!!!! Just because your leg feels better, doesn't mean the problem is gone, right? :)

Oh, my son is doing a LOT better. No more vomiting, which is a HUGE thing. Huge. He just feels lousy, but he's taking fluids. Blood sugars are "ok". Thanks for asking, Heather :)

Tonite is some kind of cardio and BM2 Upper Body. I have just not been motivated lately to workout don't know what my deal is.

Heather-that is awful I always fear that but mine is kept in a garage.

Debbie-sounds like stretching is just what you needed.

Chris-glad to hear your son is doing better and good job on the abs.

Belinda-good job with your workout.

I'm checking in quickly in between meetings - in sort of a crummy mood, not sure why. I think I'm just overtired for some reason, can't really explain it or put my finger on it. Just pooped.

But yes, Heather - that rest day was totally needed, I was SO sore (still am) yesterday, crazy! I did another CF workout today, Core Fusion Pilates Abs, wicked hard stuff, love it.

Chris - I think it was you who asked (or maybe Belinda)? But you can get the workouts at Amazon for like 15 bucks each, totally worth it!

I did workout today on my new spin bike.

Here's today's workout=

I did a preprogrammed workout for weight loss= 38 min
Met Value= 9.50
calories burned= 493
Avg. HR range= 112-144
Distance= 9.08 Miles

Oh and I ordered both Paul Katami's kettlebell workouts and his 4X4 Bootcamp. They looked too good to wait on so I caved. I don't know if I'll follow a rotation starting next week or not. I'm sort of having fun with kettlebells and my bike and missing GS and TF. Not sure if kettlebells are more of a strength workout or a cardio, not sure what category they fall in. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.

Heather- OMG, on your car being stolen!!! That is horrible, I hope the police can be of help. Its too damn cold there to be stealing cars and rather brazen to do it from someone's drive way. I hope there is good news soon on your car, extra (Hugs)). The workout you got in last night sounds seriously awesome, you are doing some amazing workouts in training for this half marathon, you go girl!!!;):cool:

Debbie- Nice stretch workout for you today, sounds like it was just what the doctor ordered for tight muscles. Yes, I know what you mean when my former cat always liked to be right smack dab in the middle of whatever I was doing. Later, my former other germanshepherd, Vader, he'd always like to come in my workout room and keep me company when I was workingout. I'd have to shoo him away when I did step because I don't have a lot of floor space in my workout room and didn't want to step on him. He loved to come and lay beside me when I did abs though. I called Vader my workout buddy.

Chris- Sorry to hear that your son was sick, but I hope he starts feeling better soon. Its always a good sign when they can start back on foods and liquids and keep it down. Especially, its concerning when there is a need to keep blood sugars in check. It seems like he's on the road to recovery now:)
I see you got to try out some of the premixes on Cathe's new dvd's. I have to say I have only done the Low HiiT and bootcamp premix and really liked it. I haven't checked out the other premixes yet on that or the other dvds. I hope you can get some rest and relax a bit now that you know your son is doing much better. I know as a mom its a worry when one of my kids are sick. Hang in there and keep up the great job on your workouts, have fun playing with the premixes.:)

Roxie- No worries everyone sort falls into an exercise funk every now and then. It could be its your bodies way of saying I need a rest week. Definitely something to think about. Good luck on today's workout and have fun.;)

Melissa- Where are you girl? We miss you. Hugs!

Jessica- Sorry your feeling a bit over tired. Get some rest maybe sleep in tomorrow if you can. Nice job on the Core Fusion. I did see on amazon there was one that was like three of them in one dvd for about $20.00, not bad at all very good workouts from what I've seen of clips definitely DOMS worthy. Take it easy and get some rest.;)
