Good morning,

My plan today is, work my shoulders/traps plus Insanity " Cardio Recovery" 40 min:)

I will be back to report my workouts!

Have a wonderful day and workout, everyone!

Today I worked my Legs in superset fashion.

WARMUP:
1 minute rest between sets.
Squats - 65#/12 reps - 2 sets

QUADS/HAMSTRINGS/CALVES

1 min. 30 sec. rest between each set.

SS #1
Squats - 90#/8 reps - 3 sets
ss w/
Elevated SLDL's - 85#/10 reps - 3 sets
***Good superset, really felt the deadlifts today.

SS #2
Static Barbell Lunges - 75#/10 reps - 3 sets
ss w/
Hamstring Curls - 45#/12 reps - 3 sets
***Wow, really felt this one as well. Leg were rubbery by the end of this superset.

SS #3
Leg Press Station - 190#/12 reps - 4 sets
ss w/
[bLeg Press Station Calf Raises[/b] - 190#/25 reps - 4 sets
***Instead of doing barbell calf raises I just stayed at my Leg Press station and did them there. Last time when I did this superset I kept getting head rushes going from the leg press station to standing barbell calf raises.

Then I did the Standing Core work from Rapid Fire. I used an 8# med ball and really felt it more in my forearms then anywhere else. Shoulders too. But it was fun and it got my HR up really good. Only about 7 minutes though.

Hi ladies! Happy almost Friday ;-) Well first off, I'm having a fat day so don't mind me, I hate when it happens though. Really bums me out. Boo. BUT on a good note, I did a really good STS workout for back and biceps - which involved more of those dbl wave loads, killer!! Tonight I'm going to Kick so that'll be a fun cardio workout, really looking forward to it! I think I may have just a wee bit of aggression to work out the way this week has been going!

Nora - OMG you crack me up!!! I am just reading your comments to me from last night, you kill me!! Don't worry ladies, I did NOT give in to stay until mid-Jan...but I *did* sorta give in and told them I'd stay till Dec 29 vs. Dec 23 as originally planned. That gives them three weeks total and they best get over it because I'm not budging!! This is their problem now, not mine. Six years of hard work and dedication and now all I get is grief. Nice. But anyway, THANK you for that awesome note last night, Nora, you're the best!! And wowza on that workout!! I AM DYING to try LBB!!!! And now I really can't wait after reading your recap!

Debbie - such a bummer that the standing ab work wasn't really working the abs as much as you'd hoped. I hate when that happens!

Belinda - how was that "recovery" workout??

Not sure what I'm going to do today. If I don't end up making it a rest day, I know I'll do triceps and abs. I refuse to go to the gym today though. Been there 3 days in a row and the thought of going back today makes me one unhappy camper.

Jessica - girl, I can't believe you are staying 3 weeks!!! Hope you knock out some aggression this evening. And NO FAT TALK!

Debbie - another nice weight workout. I know I'm on repeat saying that.

Nora - no apologies for being busy! Tis the season right?

Chris
- sorry your son's teen antics are bringing you down. Hugs to you.

Roxie - hope you're having a good one today!

Melissa - where are you????

Belinda - I have no doubt you had a kick butt workout as usual ;)

I know, I KNOW - but three weeks is still WAY less time than they were trying to get me to stay for so I feel better that I didn't fully give in - plus, if you think about how many actual work days that is with holidays, it's only 12 work days during the SLOWEST time of the year. ;-)

And the fat talk, I dunno - maybe it's from lack of sunshine/warmth to boost the spirits but I'm totally feeling gooshy in the midsection...gooshy is a horrible word, I know.

LOL - gooshy is kind of a horrible word. I prefer to say fluffy. ;)

Hi Girls!

Good workouts so far!

Belinda, I have a feeling "Insanity Recovery" isn't so easy. Just like in turbo fire, the EZ workouts are FAR from easy!

Debbie, Nice weight work for the legs today!! Like you , my ab work didn't seem to work or "hurt" my abs so much as my hip flexors. I had to modify because my flexors were KILLING me during some of the exercises (leg thrusts and thrusts side to side for example)

Jessica, I'm having a "fat ass" day so I can relate to how you feel. Got a glimpse of my ass in the mirror. it's gooshy and large (from my view). As long as you're happy with your decision for work, that's all that counts. Nice double workout today!

Heather, I've never worked out in a gym, and have no desire! LOL!. I bet you get something in today. Thanks for the hugs, I appreciate them. things were better yesterday. Someone reminded me that the brain grows the most second to toddlerhood at his age PLUS he has raging hormones. I should have realized it was the hormone/moodiness flaring, because he was my sweet ol' kid yesterday. Craziness!

Oh , as for me, I did Turbo Fire 45 today. O. M. G. spit AND puke status! I guess I haven't done a TF in a while, it kicked my butt!! But made it seem like fun!! Somehow doing a "firedrill" (interval) to Tina Turner and LIKE Tina Turner makes it feel funner!!! ... And the ab work I took from STS Total Body. As I said, KILLED my hip flexors, which disappointed me. But what can I do. So, for STS TB, is there just one guy in it? Seems awkward, no?

Well at least I'm not alone in my feeling fat day! I feel sorta "normal" now ;-)

Sounds like an awesome workout for you!! I cannot wait to try STS total body this weekend!!! Tho, the ab part sounds kinda disappointing??

I am back from lunch workout - a fantastic 2.5 mile in the cold. The wind chill was below 40, but to be able to run with zero pain for 2.5 miles totally offset the cold factor. I felt like I could have run all day, but made myself stop earlier rather than potentially hurt myself.

I am planning on doing triceps and abs after work now, but totally don't want to do any weights.

Wow. That's awesome! Just be careful! I know how excited you must be to be able to run, just don't want ya to overdo it too early ;-)

Thanks girl. I probably should have stopped at 2 miles to be super honest with myself. But, I'm trying to learn moderation. It's hard ;) I definitely don't want to get over-confident though.

Ok, so confession time. I know I need to do triceps and abs today and take tomorrow off. But ladies, I just can't. I do not have it in me today for weights. Is it just horrible to do tri/abs tomorrow and not take a true rest day????? I mean, it's just triceps, nothing as taxing as back or chest or legs even. I can do that during lunch or maybe in the morning taking less than 30 minutes and not breaking a sweat.

Thoughts? (and Jessica, I already know what you're going to say)

I'm going to surprise you. I think it's ok to save your weights for tomorrow. And not take a "true" rest day - ONLY BECAUSE you've been really patient with your injury and are listening - or trying to - to your body and going slow as you recover. That's the ONLY reason though. You know I'm big on the rest days even though I hate to take them too. As you well know ;-)

PLUS - if you aren't doing weights tonight, don't do them just to do them, it won't be a good workout and then you'll be even more annoyed with yourself, right?

Hi girls!;)

I planned to workout today and do KPC but I went to bed at 2:30 am and got up at 6:30 am after a less than restful sleep worrying and nervous for my DH and his surgery this morning. I was at the hospital since about 9:30 am and left about 3:30 pm. I'm so tired my eyes hurt. I got out my KPC dvd and said I don't think I have even enough energy to do much more than to look at the dvd and say I'm on empty Cathe, I got nothing for this workout. So, I decided I'd rest tonight and either do a double workout with Cardio Coach Vol.3 on the TM. Then rest for an hour and do KPC. I'll either do KPC like that or just do it Sunday as a make up workout. I hate to do it Sunday because I like to reserve Sunday for relaxing and watching Football. I'll probably do the double workout thing tomorrow.

In summary no workout today because of no sleep and DH's hernia surgery, so please excuse the very sad lack of workout for me today. I wish ya all well and I hope everyone kicked butt on your workouts today. I read Jessica's post today, LOL!! I'm glad your not staying on into January no matter how much they beg. Your are right its there problem not yours now since you gave notice. There loss but your gain!:)^^^5's.

Chris- Ugh on the teen crap, eh? I so feel your pain. My oldest is 15 and he's what I joke about as my freaking ray of sunshine. He is a pain, doesn't like to talk to me or his dad and prefers to act pissed off at us all the time and just act aloof and entilted all the time, Grrr! I had boys, now I think dealing with a girls PMS would be a piece of cake at least they are only in a rotten mood for a few days or so. Teen boys, they tend to wear the PMS attitude like a shirt refusing to give it up to clean it up. I feel your teen angst problems with your son. I always joke about what's the hospital's return policy again? LOL!! I gotta laugh just to keep sane. Hang in there with him. Nice workout to on the Turbo Fire Class 45. I loved TF it was lots of fun I'm glad I got it.

Belinda- You go girl with the weights! Bravo!! And insane too! Its tough even brutal but fun at the same time as strange as it sounds. Since your doing Insane you know what I mean. Keep up the excellent hard work!

Debbie- You always rock the weights girlfriend and inspire us all to keep lifting. Thanks for the Inspiration, and way to rock the workouts!;)

Jessica- Enjoy crossing off the days on the calendar and let the countdown to a better place begin. Excellent work with your workouts too! You Rock!;)

Roxie- You are doing so well with working out routinely, its ok if you have a misstep occasionally, but cudo's for working out. I love how you motivate us and remind us to get out ab work in. Its always good to have that mental shove. WTG Roxie!;)

Heather- Congrats on a fab 2.5 mile run in the brisk chilly temps. I'm so happy for you there was no pain in running today. Good call on not running to far so as to avoid any injury and undo the awesome progress that allowed you to run today. Congrats and ^^^5's.:)

If I forgot anyone please know its not intentional purpose but just shear bleary eyed exhaustion. Have a great evening and sleep well. I'll see everyone at tomorrow's check in.

Hugs to everyone!;):)

Nora
