CRAZY, STRONG & LOVING IT FOR AUGUST 3, 2011

Today was Week 6, Day 2 of C25K. Got it done and did ok. Today was 2 - 1 mile jogs with 1/4 mile inbetween. This time I covered up the time again and got my Pampered Chef timer. I set it for 15 minutes (because I am doing 15 minute miles) and jogged until it went off. I put it on the side of my treadmill where I couldn't see it. I was amazed at how quickly the time passed doing this. The last 1/4 mile of the 2nd mile jog was a bit tough, not because of my breathing or HR, but because my legs are so sore from yesterdays workout. My ankles were bothering me as well, not sure what that is all about?

Wore my HR monitor and it worked for most of the workout. I think it lost my HR only twice.

Highest my HR got was 147 bpm so I know I can either go faster or longer. Right now I will stay at 4.0 mph until this 9 weeks is over. If I decide to do it over again I will try to give it a bit more speed.

Today for me was Peak Fit Cardio Strength 2! It is challenging, and I did take a few water/breather breaks, but it was fun TOO! Sweat was flyin' everywhere!! This one has 10 segments that start with functional/compound strength moves, and then cardio and then "peaks" (plyo).

Belinda: You're going strong on STS!! How are you feeling? getting DOMS everyday?

Debbie: You are ROCKING it on the C25K!! I can't believe you're in week 6. I would have a hard time looking at a timer and counting the minutes too. Do you ever listen to music when you run? that makes the time fly for me.

Roxie: Good to hear the cool down is coming! Nice workout last night, tonight's workout sounds like a fun one!!

Nora: Hope you got to read my post from yesterday! Nice going on Pure Cardio! Seems like an easier one (but NOT easy) compared to the ones with the Peaks. Though I swear, some of the climbs ARE just as challenging as peaks, don't ya think? Especially towards the end..
 
Belinda - Nu Uh! No way will I ever do a race. I'm not even sure I can run outside on pavement. My treadmill is all I've ever ran on. Oh, I take that back, I use to jog when I lived alone, me and my best friend would jog up to DQ - which was probably a good 3 miles from where we lived - we'd eat sundae's or whatever and then walk back home. LOL! I was in my 20's back then so I could afford to do that. But even when I did that I couldn't run the full 3 miles without stopping. I have just never been an endurance runner.

Chris - I can't believe I'm on week 6 either. Where does the time go? I do listen to music. Good God, if I didn't I'd be bored to death. Yes, I jam when I run, I have too. And I'm always downloading new stuff so I don't get sick of the songs I have. Nice job on your workout! Sounds like a lot of fun!

Roxie - We're suppose to be cooling down too, but I've heard that before. I'll believe it when I see it! LOL!!

I struggled and cried through what I could get done today for a workout. Trust me, it wasn't what I planned so the results sort of suck for today's workout.


Cardio Coach Vol.1= w.up & Challenge 2 + Steady State=15 Min
met value= 8.5

Distance= 1.10 Miles

PeakFit Challenge- Cardio Strength 1= 60 Min. I was in a lot of pain so I could only do 30 min of the 60 Min today.
Met Value= 8.0
30 Min worth Calories burned= 328

Total calories burned= 502:(

Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel better. I think I'll just relax on the couch and curl up with a nice breed novel.
