CRAZY, STRONG & LOVING IT FOR AUG 18, 2011

The knot in my shoulder is almost gone, finally. I probably shouldn't have rode my motorcycle in this morning because it got all tight again, but now that I'm sitting at my desk it seems to be ok. I'll ice it again later, that seems to be the trick with this injury. And Aleve. Both made a huge difference.

So today I did a workout a friend of mine did yesterday. It was 11 - quarter mile runs with 1 min. 30 sec. rest between each quarter mile. I did all 11 of them! I did them at 4.5 mph and the rest at 3.0 mph. Each quarter mile took me 3 min. 20 seconds to run it. I had two of my Pampered Chef timers helping me with the times. Love my PC timers!

This was really fun. The first 3 quarter miles were tough, but that is how it always is for me. The first 20 minutes of any of my treadmill workouts are tough. After that, my energy kicked in and I did well. Last 2 quarter miles were very tough, though. My HR was at 160 most of the time during the last two quarter mile runs. But I did it! HR maxed out at 165 bpm which is high for me. Highest I've ever seen it was 171 bpm. AND... my HR monitor worked perfectly throughout the entire workout! :D

Love intervals like this. I'm going to keep my eye on her workouts and if she does anymore like this I'll probably copy her again.

I've never burned 561 calories. I was estatic when I seen that! :eek:

Belinda - No particular workout to buy. A friend of mine on a different forum posted her workout from yesterday and thats what she did. 11 - quarter mile runs with 1:30 rest in between. It was a blast.
 
Chris - So sorry to hear about your brother! And I hope you feel better soon.

I just noticed I had 6/27 for yesterday's date. Yeesh, I must have been sleeping when I created the thread. WTH?

Happy Thursday everyone! I just finished today's workout and just stopping by to check in.

Here's today's workout:


KCM- 30 MTF TLC-Workout #2 w/abs= 32 Min
Met Value= 7.50
Calories burned= 328
Used #1 lb each weighted gloves on each hand. I love doing boxing workouts they are so much fun.

Chalean Extreme- Recharge= 21 Min
Met Value= 2.0
Calories burned= 57
This a a great stretching workout which my right side really needs with the tight hamstring muscles etc on that side.

Total calories= 385 ;)

The goal with today's workout obviously was not to burn a lot of calories but just enough of a cardio to loosen up and warm the muscles so I could move and then I could do the stretching workout. My motivation was to do a little cardio and then stretch, which for me is easing off a lot but my body needs a lighter workout thrown in there to help.
