Crazy, Strong & Loving It for 6/8

Today was cardio and I chose Low Impact Circuit Cardio Blast premix which I really love this workout. However, when I started the 2nd step segment I slipped off my step (using two risers a side) and landed hard. My ankle was screaming at me and it scared me half to death. So I rubbed out my ankle and after about 5 minutes the shock and pain went away. I stood up and was going to start again but when I put my weight on a certain part of my ankle it hurt. I decided to just stop and ended up doing the ab work from this workout. So it wasn't a total loss. I should be ok, there is no pain right now, only when I turn my foot outward. I hope that goes away soon.

Such a bummer, I really love this workout. I should have known better then to use two risers. I just think that is dangerous and I think I proved that today.

Good Morning,

I had planned on getting up today and doing the Insanity fit test but it is storming and the sound of rain made me go back to sleep, its still storming and raining suppose to do it all day so no walk again plenty of time to get the fit test done tonite, it kind of scares me.

Debbie-hope you didn't seriously hurt something alot of people have been falling off their steps no way would I use 2 risers 1 scares me.
 
Hi ladies - how is everyone today. I'm almost ashamed to admit I stayed in bed this AM in favor of a PM workout today since I was just harassing Melissa about those AM workouts and all! But in my defense, I was exhausted and drained (more on this in a sec0 and knew my run would be "piddly" if I tried to give it a go this morning so I'm all ready to rock and roll after work tonight.

I'm totally drained because my sister is going through a rough time with one of her cats - they are like her children, much like mine are like my two kids. She is very sick and they aren't sure what's wrong with her, she's trying so hard to be strong but I know she's aching inside, and that makes ME ache inside for her too. So needless to say, its weighing on me which lead to a restless night's sleep...and hence more rest was in order this AM. I'm saying a prayer and hoping everything works out.

Roxie - good luck with the Insanity fit test tonight! Tell me what its all about when you're done, I'm curious.

Debbie - OUCH on your ankle!! I hope you are ok - and don't feel badly about the "piddly" cardio factor, you did your best right?? And you did abs which I'm always avoiding for some reason!

With much reluctancy, I got up at 6:30 and got my cardio in. CCV2 c1&2 and CCV3 c3. I wasn't too happy trecking down the stairs to the basement that early, but man did it feel good coming back up!! I feel great. Shout-out to Jessica for "challenging" me to give it a whirl...:cool:

Debbie - yikes! Glad to hear your ankle is feeling better, but that could have been serious. I agree with you on using two risers. I think it's dangerous if your not used to it. I've tried it a couple of times with LIC and LowMax and it just doesn't feel right.

Roxie - good luck with the Insanity fit test...

Jessica - I feel so bad for your sis (and you). Glad you listened to your body and stayed in bed today. No doubt that you'll rock your workout tonight!

WOOO! I'm so glad you gave it a shot! And that you felt it was worthwhile even though it SUCKED in the first few moments of awakeness ;)

Well, my ankle kept getting worse during the morning. I ended up going to the emergency room because it was just hurting so bad. I really thought I fractured something. They x-rayed it and said it was a sprain. I have a splint on it and after icing it at the hospital it feels much better. Said to not work out with my legs for about a week, maybe longer. Didn't want to hear that. Not sure what I'm going to do. Take it one day at a time I guess. Probably about $1,000 later, I'm back at work.

Sorry again for not being able to do personals. I feel really bad. I have so much work to catch up on here. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.

OH NO!!! I'm SO glad it wasn't more than a sprain but still, I would hate to be told not to work my legs for a week. Ugh. Hang in there!
