Crazy Strong and Loving It for October 28, 2009

Hi ladies. It's actually NOT raining this morning. It was nice not wearing rain boots and trudging in trying to keep an umbrella from flipping inside out. It's the little things in life...LOL.

Last night I ended up doing Cardio Fusion then soaked in epsom salt. This morning sweet DH got up to go swim at 5am and was about as quiet as a freaking train. I was ready to shoot him. He had every light on and was talking to the dogs at normal voice. Grrr. So, wide awake, I decided to go ahead and workout. I did LIC. I was really disappointed with the calorie burn on that. It's been forever since I've done the weights as well - usually just do the step premix - but expected more than 517 calories for over an hour of exercise. Oh well. I sure felt like I was working hard. Of course, it was early and I am NOT a morning person.

Today was Meso 3, Week 2, Disc 30, Shoulders, Biceps & Triceps. Had a really good workout but should have gone heavier on most exercises.

Warmup:
Standing Barbell Front Press - 35#/12 reps
Standing Barbell Front Press - 40#/10 reps

Workout:
Standing Barbell Front Press - 52#/7 reps
Barbell Curl - 57#/7 reps
Flat Bench Dumbbell Triceps Extensions - 22's/7 reps
Did 4 sets of these. Cathe rested 1 minute between each exercise which I thought was extreme. I should have gone heavier with the Front Press.

Seated Lateral Raise - 13's/7 reps
Incline Curls on Stablity Ball - 22's/7 reps
Seated Overhead Extensions One Arm - 16#/7 reps
***Did 4 sets of these. Jumped to 17# for Overhead Extensions with sets 2-4. Still too light. 30 seconds rest between each exercise, 1 minute rest between each set.

Seated Rear Delts - 22's/7 reps
Seated Concentration Curls - 27#/7 reps
Cross Body Extensions - 17#/7 reps
***Did 4 sets, 30 second rest between each exercise and 1 minute rest between each set. I'm happy with my concentration curls. I'm hoping to hit 30# next week. Cross Body Extensions just kill my right shoulder. Next week I think I'll do Overhead Tricep Extensions instead. I just can't risk any more injury in my shoulder.

Didn't do a workout last nite DH switched to a movie and it was really cute so tonite I want to do Slo-Robics with Ellen Barrett. I need to set up a rotation but not quite sure what I have all the new KCMs and her KB and Bootcamp but can't figure out how to work them together.

Roxie - Thanks girl! Wish I could train you!! I have a question and it's a bit personal so if you don't want to answer it, you don't have too. But if you have your tubes tied, why are you taking birth control pills? Just curious, I've never heard that before. Hope you are feeling better!

I've been thinking about putting together sort of an STS rotation using Cathe's older workouts but some of it isn't coming together like it should. I really wanted to get one done for November but it doesn't look like it's possible. I'll keep trying, it's pretty cool so far because I've mixed up various workouts to get the type of workout STS has with each Meso cycle. Meso 3 is the hardest to do without actually using the STS workouts.
 
Debbie - I will admit I am glad to have the workout done at the very least. I would be VERY interested in your rotation. I just realized that I finished the 4-week rotation I had set up for myself. Need to come up with some pretty quick. I was thinking about maybe using Cathe's October rotation.

Debbie-I have endomitriosis which means every month my periods are incredibly painful and my uterus sloughs off so I have clotting I say its like having a baby every month the dr. said that when some women get they're tubes tied this can happen. The only way to treat it is to either have a hysterectomy or take birth control pills. If I had known this I never would have had my tubes tied he didn't tell me it was a possibility.

Roxie - Wow, that sucks! Sorry to hear that! I've never heard that before either.

Debbie-its ok since going back on the pill its under control again. If you get the chance to check out KCMs workouts can you give me and idea about how to use them, the ones that have me stump are Muscle Definition which I know is wts., but Body Training is the one that has me really stumped its using your own body wt and I think it is all lower body there is a standing workout and a floor workout.

Debbie, awesome job with disc 30 today. I wished I had you as my personal trainer too! I am not following a rotation, I trying to do 3 Full Body workouts and 3 Cardio workouts a week. See how that works? Do you think doing 3 full body workouts a week, is too much? For cardio I use the TreadClimber(since I do get a nice cal. burn:p), for the full body workouts, I plug in Cathe’s FB workouts. BTW, the rotation you putting together, sounds awesome. I probably have to wait awhile to do that one.

No, I don't think 3 full bodies is too much in one week. See how you respond to it. I am trying with the rotation. Not sure if it will work or not.
 
Hey Girls...

Feeling a little better today, less depressed, more anxious. Joy joy.

At least I FELT like working out. It's "Recovery Week" for me, so I thought I'd pull out something different today. I did one of my first STEP workouts that I used to LOVE, it's in VHS form, REEBOK STEP with Gin Miller. It's a MTV-ish setting with a steel drum band playing in the background. I haven't done it in YEARS , literally. It was odd, because I still knew the moves and even what Gin says! The workout is SOOOOO basic though. Just up downs, and lunges. But it got my HR up there a few times. Stayed in the 150's mostly, not bad. I did SEG #1 of Stretchmax afterwards.

And then my supervisor called and reminded me of the whole work thing. And of course, I'm sitting home all day, it's raining cats and dogs, and it's all I can think about. *sigh*

Belinda: PH is tough! I remember that one! Good job doing it! Your back is ok? Is your daughter still there with you too?

The rain is here today and I have NO motivation to go out in it. The kids' school has a Halloween Party and Haunted House tonight and I have even LESS motivation to get them all dressed in their costumes and go out in the rain. I feel bad, but ....NO! don't make me!.... Sorry LIC wasn't the calorie burn you wanted it to be. Husbands have no clue sometimes! This morning it was my cats that woke me up! Little poops!

Debbie: Awesome job on Disc 30 today! Your weights look heavy to me! The rotation sounds cool you're working on. I bet lots of people would love it that can't get STS. MESO 3 *IS* superhard to duplicate. Maybe modifying GS somehow? Or S&H?

LOL! Chris, isn't it funny how that happens. I did a Cher step workout and a Kelli Roberts one a while ago and it had been years - literally - since I've done them. I remembered each step and what they said during the workouts. Too funny how we remember such things.

That's what I was thinking about Meso 3 - Using S&H and GS. We'll see. November is coming fast, I'm not sure I'll get it posted by Sunday. :(

No, I don't think 3 full bodies is too much in one week. See how you respond to it. I am trying with the rotation. Not sure if it will work or not.

Debbie-I like her KB one there are two workouts I am still working on learning the moves in workout 1 and its only 27 mins so when you want a quick one this is it. I haven't tried any of the ab workouts yet though.
 
Chris - I know how you feel about no motivation with rain. It sometimes just sucks the fun and desire out of everything. There are times when it just pisses me off period. I know I'm going to be wet, have a bad hair day, just one big old pain in the rear. It's supposed to move back in tonight for us and last through Sat morning. You don't want to get out to go to the gym, but then even working out at home is dreary and blah. I don't know how people live in areas where it rains more than it's sunny!

Debbie - any chance you could give us just an inside peek at what you're thinking? I would like to start something new on Sat. I'm so close to just starting STS again though.

OH!! One of my FIRST step workouts was Cher Fitness! Is that the one? OMG, I loved that! And Cher was in that black freakin negligee type of outfit! But she made me laugh and made me like the workout. I also had Kathy Kaehler Fitness , she did Step with 3 or 4 different celebrities, OMG, I loved that one too

Calories burned= 580
I had to opt for one riser= 6 inch step because of my knees. Great step workout! Lots of fun!!

STS Ab Circuits-Med Ball Abs= 10 Min
Calories burned= 58
This is my hands down favorite fast abs workout. Love it!!!

Chris – OMG! I have that one too! Well, I own all the Reebox Step Videos. Still got those. And yes, I do have Cher step workout with Kelli Roberts. That is funny, that we still have those. I almost tossed them while I was in Texas a few weeks ago, but couldn’t. My DD thought they are to old.LOL! I never heard of Cher Fitness? Reebox was very popular in Europa.
