Crazy Strong and Loving It for Dec 15, 2009

Cathlete
Good morning,

DH and I will go to the gym tonight! I have a PT appointment this afternoon, have to clean my house. DD is coming on Sunday. Haven't done anything yet.

I'll better get busy! BBL!

Today was Plyo X. Love this workout. Had a blast with it today and was able to give it my all. For some reason, though, I burned less calories then the last two times I did this. The last two times I broke 500 calories, this time I didn't.

HR STATS:
62 minutes total
7 minutes below zone
17 minutes in zone
39 minutes above zone
492 calories burned
150 bpm was the highest my HR got.

Good Morning!

I'm sitting here debating on what cardio to do today. Definitely have some good DOMS in the chest and back already starting.

So, what should I do... Maybe one of Cathe's step workouts, or a run?! I'll only be able to run on the sidewalks and roads at the park if I do. The weather is cloudy, but warm (40's) with melting snow everywhere.

I need to finish up shopping for my family, and then start on DH this week. Cards and wrapping.

Belinda
: Fun that you'll be going with DH to the gym! Not so fun cleaning...

Debbie: YAY for plyo! Great to hear good reviews on P90X, keep em coming!

Nora: Nice job on P90X yesterday. It must be hard to skim your workouts down when you're used to doing so much!

Still not sure what I'm going to do...

Hi ladies. My legs are oddly sore from spin last night. Not terrible, but I can definitely tell I did something!

Chris - like you I am undecided on my workout this afternoon. I guess I have all day to obsess about it! LOL. I'm trying to decide between Hardcore Extreme hi/low premix or Cardio Fusion. I have been doing both of those a lot lately and am afraid I'm about to burn out on them.

Belinda - hope PT went well and you got your house cleaned. Though, I'm sure your DD doesn't care if it's clean or not so long as she's home.

Debbie - I had the same thing happen with my HR last night. I think my monitor is going wonky though. Maybe because you've done that one a few times now you're more used to it?

Hi Wendy, Roxie, and Nora!!

Good Morning,

Didn't sleep well last night so I didn't get up early to workout and probably won't get it done tonite DH comes home. I will be able to make it up Thurs because he will be gone again. I was suppose to do MM upper body only but my shoulders and back still hurt from shovelling.

Belinda-happy to hear DD is coming home.

Debbie-great job with the workout I agree with Heather.

Chris-have fun with whatever you decide. The high here today is suppose to be 18.

Heather-have fun with whatever you decide.

Good morning!

Had an unexpected rest day yesterday. Woke up to no water! The whole town was out! A main pipe cracked and leaked out all night Sunday - yikes. So there was no school either. So me and the girls went to my mom's in a neighboring town and spent the whole day. Got home about 730p. Husband was here most of the day sleeping and doing errands and calling me periodically with updates. Got water about 6p. Have to boil it now for a day or two..anyway....
I'm still on my rest week. I got another KCM workout from Netflix to try - Step boxing or something. Hoping to get Shock Cardio soon!
For those of you that are doing/have done Meso 3 - did somene spot you for bench press? I needed a spotter in Meso 2, so I'm guessing I'll need one for Meso 3. Tough to plan workouts around the availability of my DH.
Chris - did I read that you hurt yourself now that I think of it? How is your, um, area feeling? Be careful! Enjoy your run or ?
Belinda - your DD is coming again?!? Yahoo! That'll be great!
Roxie - I hope your husbands travels have been going well.
Heather - still spinning!?!? You go! By the way, I've had those burritos 5 days in a row - my new favorite thing!! I even bought the stuff at the store yesterday and made them at my moms!
Debbie - I always enjoy Plyo X, too. Still a great calorie burn. Isn't it amazing how are bodies adapt, though?
Nora - what's up? Finally some warmer weather, eh? But rain....blessed rain!!!??!?!?
Okay, catch up later...

Hallo girls,

Debbie – nice cal burn on KempoX.

Chris – nice job on your DOMS. What ever cardio you decide on, have fun. I hate cleaning, it never stops!

Heather – I know DD doesn’t care if the house is clean or not, I like a clean house.

Roxie – I am excited DD is coming Sunday. Have fun with your workout tonight.

Wendy – sorry about the water situation yesterday, at least you got to spend the day with your mom and kids. DD is coming for x-mas. She is only staying a little over 2 weeks.

Getting ready for the gym. bbL!

Wendy - I had my DH spot me for Meso 3. It was the only way I could safely lift heavier weights and/or make any gains in that area. I wish I would have thought to have him spot me in Meso 2 b/c I think I would have seen greater gains overall. Oh, and I'm glad you're enjoying the burritos!!!

Belinda - I totally understand. I'm that way too. I just meant don't stress out too much! LOL.

Dammit! I typed out personals for everyone and then we lost our power here.

Debbie- Great workout today! That one sounded tough, I'm sure I'll have some problems with doing some of them too. P90X Legs and back is good but I wish there was more leg work or another leg workout to do in the series as well. I do love Cathe's Butts & Gutts and added just doing the floor work to the P90X Legs and Back. After reading your comments I'm thinking it would be good to alternate Legs and Back from P90X with Legs and Glutes of Cathe's workout and maybe add GS Back,Shoulders & Biceps- From chapters menu Just doing back only= 19 Minutes. I think that sounds like a good one to use with Legs and Glutes to change things up a bit from P90X Legs and Back. What do you think? I just don't feel that my back is getting worked enough. I don't have a chinup bar so I use resistance bands as shown. That's why I thought of doing GS BSB- but just the back only portion. Anyways, that's what I was thinking. So far, I like P90X I do miss Cathe though, she's got me spoiled. LOL!! I love reading your workout details, its always great to read and aspire to... I need to remember to post the workout details, but I always forget or am pressed for time and don't, I apologize.

Nora - I think that would work out ok. Just make sure you don't go over 60 minutes. Tweak L&G to where you are only doing some of the exercises, not the whole workout and then insert some back exercises from GS Back like Tony does in P90X. It might be a bit difficult because you'll have to keep swapping DVD's. There isn't much rest time in the P90X workout, that is the only thing I can see that might not work. It's too bad you can't get a pullup bar. The Perfect Pullup runs about $60 at Walmart. I love mine. Pullups and chins are the best back exercise you can do. It really tests your strength. And it's ok to get away from Cathe, the body needs change, even with the types of workouts we do. So doing a rotation from someone other then Cathe is a good thing.

Chris - I know what that thingie is you got from the infomercial, I did see it once. Looks like a good product. I want to get the brownie pan that seperates the brownies for you and they come out perfectly sliced. Fox 8 here did a test with it and it worked great. I'll be picking one of those up after the holidays, I know Walmart and Walgreens carries them. And do Step Blast! :D

Heather - That could be why my HR is so different. I am getting use to the workout, but you'd think since I could give it my all because I know it, that I would burn more. I don't know. Nice job on the leg DOMS!

Roxie - Sorry you missed your workout. :(

Wendy - I've never used a spotter but that doesn't mean I shouldn't have one. I just always make sure there is a way for me to get out from under a weight if I happen to drop it or I can't lift it back up. Just be careful if you don't have a spotter. And Yikes on the water thing. Glad you have it back now.

Debbie - I really think you're right on about changing up and even getting away from Cathe workouts. I know I really need a change right now. My problem is that I just don't know of another really high-quality workout rotation or instructor. I tried one of Gin Miller's and it was "OK", but nothing inspiring. I have this really weird fear of trying to lift completely on my own. Like what I do won't be as effective.

Lifting on your own is something you have to practice. Sometimes it's hard to push yourself, you know? It's easier when someone else is telling you how many reps and sets, etc. I love lifting on my own. I've created several rotations for myself in the past using different types of training and I really have fun with it. The best part of it is I get to listen to my own music. That really gets me going and pumps me up. I also get good rotations from the men's M&F Magazine and other magazines as well. I just like M&F Men better because it's so hardcore.

Geez now I wish I would have gotten out of bed to workout. Maybe if I grab us something quick for supper DH won't mind if I workout before we cuddle.

Debbie - the thought of using my own music makes me giddy!!! If you have any old rotations in e-form that would be easy to send or post, I'd appreciate it more than you know! I always pick up Oxygen magazine and have seen a few rotations that look interesting. Maybe I need to check out M&F.

I'll check at home when I get time. I have every rotation I've ever done documented somewhere.

Checking in -

I did KCM step & kickboxing. I did the tutorial too (glad I did). So all together it was like 90 min and I burned almost 600 calories. I really liked it!
School is closed again today because of yesterday's water situation. So my DDs are home - gotta go!
Have a great day...
Oh, and Debbie, I heard my DH running the bikes the other day - but that's all the excitement they've seen for about 2 months! You know, I think the weatherman said clear and 50 for this weekend....maybe a little spin is in order!

Hi girls!;)

I'm checking in real fast as I'm definitely soaking wet from my workout and bound for the shower.

Here's today's workout:

P90X PlyometricsX= 58 min
Calories burned= 554

Heart rate was in zone most of the time except for warm up and cool down. Heart rate was 75% at warm up. During the main workout it was 80%-85% definitely in my zone. I sweated buckets and loved every minute of it. This workout rocks!!!

Debbie- thanks for the always great advice you give me. I appreciate it!:D Have you checked out P90X Plus yet? I know they have it on qvc for cheaper than Beachbody and was kind of eyeing that. I also wanto get the new Tracey Staehle Cardio Kickbox Challenge the followup to Strikezone, that's coming out next week. If your interested in Cardio Kickbox Challenge you can order it at http://www.totalfitnessdvds.com/TRACEY-STAEHLE-CARDIO-KICKBOX-CHALLENGE-DVD-p/kickboxchallenge.html free shipping on items over $19, love that. Also here's the qvc info on P90X Plus http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/...c.P90X-Plus-Advanced-Series-Workout-4-DVD-Set.

Wendy- Hi things are definitely wet where I am in Oregon. You aren't by chance in Oregon too? Just curious because it was mentioned on the news that some schools were closed due to busted pipes or something.

Waves hello to Debbie, Belinda, Wendy, Heather Roxie, and Chris:D;):)
See all you Cathelites at tomorrow's check in have a great night everyone.

Hugs!:);)
