Good morning,

I never got to the gym yesterday:mad: I will have to play catch up this week:rolleyes: Not sure what I will do today?

Have a great Monday and workout. BBL with personals.

Morning,

I just did ME "Express workout" minus the abs! I still have to do my core/back workout!

Have a great one, everyone! BBL!

Hi ladies. Well yesterday wasn't nearly as productive as I'd hoped. No sauce. I did get 3 different cookie doughs made, some laundry washed, and errands run (to include finishing up a few more Christmas gifts). Oh, and the workout of course LOL.

Today will likely be spin unless I get super detained trying to pick up our dogs from the groomer. The weather is crazy. Supposed to be in the 60's then drop and only 40 tomorrow.

Good Morning,

Sometime during the night my front door blew open which caused the furnace to run so my upstairs was hot and it woke me up, I couldn't get comfortable so when my alarm went off I was ready to get up and get my workout down. The room was incredibly hot and I was pretty red faced when I was done. I did LIS Lower Body Cardio Blast premix if you have never done this one I would totally recommend it I am now glad I didn't do B&Gs yesterday.

Stats:
50 min
46 in the zone
158 min hr
181 max hr
403 cals burned.

Heather-hope you make it to spin class. I wish we were in the 60's its suppose to be in the 20's here all week.

Belinda-its a busy time of year and hard to get your workouts in.

Wendy-thank you for your support but I didn't have to worry DH booked a non-smoking room so I guess he is really taking this whole thing seriously I just don't want him to blow it when he has almost reached 2 months and I know thats the longest he has ever gone without one.

Off to do some christmas shopping before work.

Today started Phase 2 of P90X. Today was Chest, Shoulders & Triceps. Had a great workout. Some of the exercises bothered my right shoulder but not too much where I couldn't do them. Still, I have to be careful with a couple of the exercises.

This is how it went:

Slow-Motion 3-in-1 Pushups - Wide - 4 sets 4/4 count; Standard - 4 sets 4/4 count; Close - 4 sets 4/4 count. Took a few seconds rest and then did 10 fast standard pushups.

In & Out Shoulder Flyes - 8's/16 reps
***This is a front raise and a lateral raise.

Bench Dips - 30 reps

Plange Pushup - 10/5 on toes
***These are like tricep pushups but your fingers are turned out instead of in.

Pyke Presses - 10/6 reps
***I did these with my toes up on my weight bench and I was in a pyke position doing shoulder presses. Cathe does these in the Push/Pull series. They burn.

Side-Tri Raises - 15 w/left arm; 10 with right arm
***This bothered my right shoulder. I hate this exercise.

Floor Flyes - 4 sets/4 reps each side
***This is a pushup using a paper plate. You slide your arm to the left, do a pushup and slide it back in. Do this 4 times and then switch sides. These burned.

Scarecrows - 5's/12 reps
***This is a rotator cuff exercise. This bothered my right shoulder a bit. Hold weights with elbows up like you are doing an upright row. Hold it and turn the hands up and down. These burned like crazy. Felt it in my traps.

Overhead Tricep Extensions - 15's/12 reps
***Used two weights behind my head.

Two-Twitch Speed Pushups - 3 sets
***Did 4 fast pushups, then 3 slow count pushups. These were cool, I liked this exercise.

Y-Presses - 15's/12 reps
***These are overhead presses only you press out to the front more then just straight up and down.

Lying Tricep Extensions - 15's/15 reps
***Should have gone heavier.

One minute rest

Side-to-side Pushups - 11 reps
***Basically you "hop" one leg and one arm out to one side, do a push-up, and then return to center briefly before going out to the other side and doing the same thing. I liked this exercise too. Should have done 1 more rep to even out my sides. Duh!

Pour Flyes - 8's/10 reps
***This hurt my right shoulder a bit as well. You do a lateral raise and then turn your hands down like you are pouring something out of a jug. Got a great burn.

Side-Leaning Tricep Extension - 15's/10 reps each side
***Just like it says, you sit on a bench or chair and lean over to one side and do extensions. Makes it a little harder due to the gravity thing.

One-Arm Pushups - 10 on knees
***Sloppy as all get out. I just can't do one-arm pushups.

Weighted Circles - 3's/38 reps
***These were for the shoulders and it burned like hell. Did 10 reps forward, 10 reverse, 10 forward and 8 reverse.

Throw the Bomb - 10#/12 reps
***This is a cool twist on a standard overhead triceps extension. You do one arm at a time, and with the other arm, you point forward as if you were pointing to a receiver down the field that you were about to throw a football to. Press the dumbbell straight up in the air and be sure to stop when you get to the top! You aren't actually throwing the dumbbell, but rather modifying the move so that you can put a slight hip twist into it. I liked this one.

Clap or Plyo Pushups - 10 reps, no clap
***I just pushed myself up off the ground but did not clap. That is just disaster waiting to happen.

Slow-Mo Throws - 10's/4 reps; 8's/3 reps
***This is very similar to the Scarecrow exercise, only this time you raise your arms straight out in front of you. From the up position, you then rotate at the elbow to bring the dumbbells back to your ears, then rotate forward to the straight arm position. Drop your arms briefly to your sides, and then repeat. Really felt this one. Had to drop weight for the last three reps.

Front-to-Back Tricep Extensions - 10#/12 reps each side
***This is a one-arem tricep extension only you alternate pressing to the front and back.

One-Arm Balance Pushups - 10 reps
***Do a pushup and then stack your feet and bring one arm up. Repeat to the other side. I love this exercise.

Fly-Row Presses - 10's/28-10 reps
***This combines 4 different exercises: the Dumbbell Fly, the Upright Row, the Overhead Dumbbell Press, and the Reverse Curl. You do the fly first, then drop your arms back to your sides before doing the upright row. Without coming out of the up position of the row, drop your elbows and push the dumbbells up overhead, then bring them down and do a reverse curl, ending the movement in the starting position for the next repetition.

Dumbbell Cross-Body Blows - 10's/28-10 reps
***I loved this one, it's basically an alternate chest press. I did it laying on the floor. Need to use heavier weights next time. Great burn with this one.

Nora - I'm glad you decided to just stick with one workout. Your body will thank you for it! And great idea on adding B&G floorwork to the leg routine. I do like P90X legs, but I'm thinking of possibly doing L&G once in a while to break up the boredom factor. I really wish he would have two leg workouts in this series, not just one.

Chris - What is the fixit scratch thingie your ordered from an infomercial? What does it do? I'm an infomercial-aholic and I don't ever recall seeing this one. And I cannot believe how much you had to pay in the end. I ordered those stupid hanger things that fold down to save room in your closet. I did it on the phone and it did the same thing with offer after offer. What a pain! I ordered these stupid things back in June and still haven't received them. They never did charge me for them so I'm not worried about it. And now I see them at stores like Walgreens. So stupid!!!

Wendy - Have you been able to ride lately? I haven't. It's very cold here now. I guess my bike will be in storage now until it gets warm again. :(

Belinda - Nice workout today! Have fun working your core!

Heather - I need to make some cookies for Christmas Eve. I love to make the peanut butter ones where you put a Hersey's kiss on top of it. Those are yummy!!!

Roxie - I'm glad you dh hasn't been smoking, I'm very glad to hear he finally did quit. I hope he sticks to it. I hear this is the hardest habit in the world to break. I wish my dh would quit. :( Nice workout, girl! I wish I would have sweat this morning. Even with all that I did, I didn't sweat at all. My room is really cold!

Debbie - I love your commentary on your workout breakdowns! Peanut butter cookies are my favorite! I started adding in those chocolate and peanut butter swirled chips. YUM.

I really need to try to make them healthier - like using some applesauce. But I didn't want to make that attempt on gifts. Need to practice first and search for new recipes. Cookies are a HUGE weakness for me.

I'm glad you read it, Heather. I figure once people see how long my workout explanations are they wouldn't read it. So thanks for reading all that.

Yum, your cookies sound good and cookies are a HUGE weakness of mine too. I can't have any kind in the house or they will be gone in one sitting. I only buy them on the weekends once in a while when I want to indulge.

Hallo girls,

DH wanted to go to the gym after work, so we did. I ended up doing CCV5, traveled 3.70 miles.

Heather, I leave the baking up to DD, she likes to bake. Those cookies sound really yummy. Need to look them up on foodtv.com. Have fun with your workout today.

Roxie, nice job getting your workout in this morning.

Debbie, awesome job with your upper body workout this morning. How is your mom and back doing? I am getting lots of spasm in my back lately. I am using a Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation Device; I should use it 3 times a day. I need my DH to put those electrodes on my back, can’t reach back there! LOL!

I will try to be back for more personals!

Debbie - I get a kick out of reading those! You crack me up b/c sometimes it's what I know I was thinking during a particular exercise. It'd make a fabulous blog! I don't even buy cookies. Period. I get those darn cookie magazines that taunt me at the checkouts this time of year and always pick out a ton to try. I love to bake. I just won't allow myself to do it though. It's for the best!

Belinda - good job with the workout. I really really need to buy one of the CC just to test it out. They are 40% off right now. I have listened to just the preview snipits and I am not sure if I'll find him annoying or motivating.

Roxie - glad to hear you liked that premix. I've not tried that one yet.

Belinda - My mom is doing great but now she feels the pain in her right hip. It needs replaced too. She didn't feel the pain there because her left hip was so bad. Now that it is pain free she feels the right. So she will have to get that one done in the near future. Not looking forward to it. My back is great. So far, so good! :D

I like the white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookies I could eat those in one sitting along with no-bake cookies, I have been thinking about making some of those but DH doesn't like them and I would be the only one eating them.

Roxie - those are my 2nd favorites! Really really close between the peanut butter and the white choc macadamia nuts. OH YUM. I actually make Paula Dean's White Chocolate Cherry Chunkies using cranberries. The tartness from the cranberries pairs so well with the white chocolate and macadamia nut flavors.

Debbie, sorry about your moms right hip! (((HUGS))) to your mom and you! Glad to hear your back is great! I have PT tomorrow again! I have so much to do and so little time. DD is coming on Sunday:eek:

Hey Girls!

I went to work last night, it went ok. One bout of feeling sick to my stomach, and my usual tiredness because I'm staying up all dang night! LOL!

I started Week #2 of MESO 3 today with DISC 28, Chest And Back. It was tough. Heavy. I kind of lost it with the 31# dumbbell on incline chest flies. My forearms gave out trying to lift them back, and the weight fell on my pubis area  That freakin HURT!

Belinda: Great CC today! For some reason, I just can't get into them on my outside runs. I'd rather listen to music. But they are crazy!!!

Debbie: I love reading your workouts too! Esp since I'm planning on P90X after the frist of the year. !!! Those exercises sound very cool. I like different takes on traditional stuff. ...Oh, the Fix it scratch thing. It is a tube of something that fixes scratches on your car. It looks pretty cool. Our boys do a JOB on scratching up our cars, it's insane how many scratches we have. It comes with 2 tubes, and then one more for indoor appliances, and also a vacuum thingie. I know I got ripped off , but then saw that ONE tube goes for $10 at Walgreens online. I got 2 tubes, another tube for inside, and the vacuum for $53. Still too much when I was expecting "all for $19.95"!! LOL!

Heather: Enjoy spinning today! You make me want to try a class at the Y, it sounds fun!...

OMG, cookies! Yes, lets do a recipe exchange on our FAVORITE cookies!!!

Roxie: cool premix!! 4DS has so many different options..

Hey to Nora and Wendy! Looking forward to hearing what you think of Meso 3, Wendy!!

Hey to Nora and Wendy! Looking forward to hearing what you think of Meso 3, Wendy!!

Chris-actually it was the original LIS workout.

Chris - I had the hardest time with flies and presses using dumbbells. I felt like I spent all of my energy trying to hoist them in place so by the time I started the exercise, I was already failing. I finally started getting DH to hand them to me. But 31# for flies is pretty darn good!!!! I think my max was 28#. You should give spin a try. You might really enjoy it. Especially if you're looking for some different cardio.
