Crazy Strong and Loving It for Dec 10, 2009

Good morning ladies,

I will go to the gym today:p

BTW, I almost forgot, my niece is getting married this Friday. DH and I are leaving in the morning; I be will be back on Saturday. My plan is to get up early Friday morning and get a full body workout in. I think I will do Push/Pull?

I will be back later. Have a great day and wokout, everyone!

Today was X-Stretch and I loved it. One hour of stretching. My body is so tight it isn't even funny. I had a hell of a time with some of the stretches. Felt better about half way into it, but still very tight. I really wish I had time to do this workout about twice a week. It would benefit me so much.

Good morning everyone! It's 23 degrees this morning. Needless to say, it felt like I had snot frozen to my face trying to get from parking lot to office. I do NOT do well in cold weather.

Last night was spin and it was a goody. I think I'm liking the Wed instructor much better. Calorie burn was 572 whereas it was something like 456 or so on Monday. I also ran on the treadmill first just shy of 20 mins to loosen up. That was 192 calories. Apparently there is no need to do that on Wed classes. Holy crap that was a lot of calorie burn. I promptly stuffed my face when I got home though!

I've started using the assisted pullup machine at the gym on Mon/Wed after my run/before spin. I really want more definition in my back and I think the only way to achieve is by adding pullups/chinups (which I can't do at home). I'm not feeling any soreness, but I'm not doing that many yet either. Monday I did 5, took a quick break and eeked out 3 more. Yesterday I did 5, break, 4 more. I think I'll try to keep adding until I hit 12 then start increasing intensity? We'll see how it goes.

Happy Thursday!

Good Morning,

Well its back to work I go and I am not looking forward to it. I enjoyed my time at home with DH, so much so I didn't get my workout in last night. This morning I did 30 pushups 15 on my toes and 225 crunches of different varieties. Tonite is Cardio Fusion Step only oh joy more BM2.

Pushup Stats:
1 min
1 min in the zone
147 min hr
156 max hr
10 cals burned. Now if I could just figure out how to log these in workout manager.

Crunches Stats:
10 min
9 in the zone
133 min hr
150 max hr
61 cals burned.

Heather-lol about the snot thing I imagine that is how I am going to look when I get to work.

Hey Girls!

I feel hungover today for some reason. It's probably because once again, DH was home for Zach's blood sugar checks, so I got to sleep more. Oh, plus we lost power last night at 9:30 (pissed! I missed Nip/Tuck!!!), so i went to bed and read under the covers with a flashlight.

My glutes are sore, but I'm able to walk today. It's a good sore, not the one where I'm grimacing when I sit to pee! YAY! LOL!.

My plan for today (in a few minutes) is to do LIC, Cardio Blast Premix, and one of the Abs Circuits. (Or some sort of abs, depends what I feel like when I get there). ... I wanted to do low impact, I've been feeling this weird soreness in my left knee. It's not constant, it's just occasional. And I think with the high impact of running this week and then Plyo yesterday, I should take it easy.

I also REALLY WANT to get my Christmas cards started today!!!!!! Maybe some online shopping...

Belinda: Sounds like a fun weekend in store for you! You're awesome for getting in your workout first! Go, Belinda, go!!! :)

Debbie: I know , isn't stretching the best? I always feel sooooo good doing it and I should do it more. I did the Extended stretch yesterday after Plyo, so relaxed and stretch-y afterwards!

Heather: Have you run in the cold yet? It really is quite exhilirating, even though it SUCKS for the first 15 minutes or so. By mid-run, I could definitely be in shorts! ... Good going on Spin Class!!!! very cool. Do they play music or is it just the instructor giving directions?

Roxie
: I miss the alone time with my DH too. After kids, that goes out the window! LOL!. You did 225 crunches????? get OUT!!! Your tummy is going to be talking to YOU tomorrow, girl!!!!

Chris - odd you mentioned the hungover feeling this morning. I felt the same way and the strongest thing I had was iced green tea! Maybe I should have had that glass of wine after all! LOL. Good job with the good DOMS. Take care of the knee!

I haven't run in the cold this season yet. Well, take that back, it was 42 degrees the day of the Race for the Cure. I do have lots of warmies though that DH bought me last year for Christmas. You're right, once you get going, it's fine. My only issue is my asthma. The cold REALLY bothers my lungs. I need some sort of mouth cover.

As for spin, it's the music that keeps me going. It's loud, upbeat, exhilarating.

The Bosses just called an told me to take the day off because it is sold cold so I guess I can catch up on my workouts.

Hallo ladies,

I just finsihed CCV? I was in such a hurry, didn't even looked:( I traveled over 4 miles and burned 820 cal. My legs are so tight today, need to get a good strech in! I will be back with personals!

Nora - Nice workouts yesterday so I really hate to say this, but I think you are overtraining and in a big way. You do too many workouts in one day, eventually your body is going to revolt against you. The body needs about one hour of exercise per day. Anything over that is defeating anything you are trying to do. Just my 2 cents. I just hate to see you get injured or not see any progress. {{{hugs}}}

Belinda - Nice calorie burn today! Wow! You had to have done #7 or #8 for that kind of calorie burn. Nice job!

Roxie - Lucky you! Wish I could have stayed home today. Nice going with the pushups and crunches! And I'm glad you got to spend time with dh yesterday!

Heather - We have you beat in the temp department. It was 19 when I came in today and our winds are about 60 mph right now. So that makes the temps about -41! Now that's cold. Nice job with the spin class! I'm glad you are enjoying those!

Chris - I hate when I feel like that. I hope your head clears up soon. Bummer on no electric. We had power outages around us too, but luckily ours stayed on.

Debbie - holy cow on the wind chill!!! It was super windy here yesterday, but just a wee bit warmer. Glad it's not windy today.

Ok, just need to vent for a second. Can I just say how much I want to knock the crap out of people who look at me and assume I'm thin b/c I don't eat??? Some jackass asked me last night at spin if I ever ate. When I said yes (and DH backed me up) he said well then you must just workout 8 hours a day. I'm 5'2" and weigh typically between 105-108. You all obviously know I workout. I also try to eat pretty healthy. That's why I'm thin (that and good genes). If I was freaking anorexic, then I wouldn't be able to make it through spin class, or any other workout session. I also wouldn't have a lick of muscle tone on me! GRRRRR. Sorry, just had to let it out to people who might understand.

I totally understand and I think a lot of us who are fit and healthy get asked these same stupid questions. It is annoying!

Wow, lots going on!
Belinda - great workout! And have a simply wonderful time this weekend. I think push/pull would be a great choice to try to squeeze in before your trip.
Debbie - nice work on stretching. Our bodies SO need that. And I'm finding with STS I'm not stretching or doing abs enough probably.
Heather - you're rocking it at spin! Way to go! And good thinking on utilizing their assisted pullup machine. Keep up the good work!
Roxie - really!?! A free day off!!?!? Cool. And yes, definitely take advantage of catching up on your workouts.
Chris - too funny. I did LIC timesaver premix this morning - isn't that the one you were thinking of doing? I did LIC abs and stretch also.
Nora - what've you got planned today?
And to continue the "rant" from earlier....it drives me cuckoo when someone says (as I'm making a healthy food choice) hey, if I looked like you I wouldn't eat that. I always say: it's because I eat this that I look this way (stoooopid!).
Anyhoo...off to the grocery store this morning. I've got to get home before noon - the Dish Network guy is coming sometime this afternoon - arrgghh!
I'm still plugged up and not interested in going out in the cold, but, hey...we need food!
Enjoy your day....

Ok I just finished BM2 Upper Body and Stretch didn't do the abs due to all the crunches I did earlier so this afternoon after I go do some shopping I will do Cardio Fusion and add the abs on then.

Wendy - hope you get unplugged soon! My DH has had a sinus infection for ages now. On his 2nd round of antibiotics right now.

I think what almost made it worse last night was that the guy was working out next to me. You'd think that someone who also exercised would get it. But I guess not! That's ok, I think my biceps are more toned than his  tee hee!!!

I did do LIC Cardio premix. I did it on 8 inches, instead of my usual 6. I 'm not sure if that's what did it, or that I wasn't feeling so well rested either, but it was harder for me, and my HR got up there a LOT. I felt completely challenged, and kept thinking I shouldn't have been!!! I ended up doing Abs Circuit Yoga Abs. (minus the levetations, forgettabout that move!). The last yoga sequence (done 3 times!!!) was hard, but I did it! Going back into downward dog had a big sticky point in my buttocks though. WOW! Almost painful!

Roxie
: WAY cool on getting to stay home today! Nice workout , too! I'm still in awe of 235 crunches!

Debbie
: Ok, YOU win the wind chill contest!!!:eek:

Wendy: AH! LIC premix was fun! (even though it was challenging to me today). I enjoy the musick (Girls just want to have fun, and Whip it!!!) Are you into recovery week now? HATE colds, hope yours goes away soon. I find that VIT C helps (in big doses, like 1000mg a day).

Heather: What a rude jerk at the gym! That is just beyond rudeness to comment on ANYONE's weight. It's like asking someone with a bigger belly when they're due! I've had people make comments about my eating too, but they're usually at work, and they usually admire me :) or want my ideas. ...

Nora: Looking forward to hearing about your workout today!!!

Doing some christmas cards and listeing to christmas music, and drinking Christmas Eve tea... but the fun is soon over, I need to start supper...

My boys come home and OUT THE DOOR they go! It's SOOO cold out, but they NEED to go sledding, STAT!!!! I hope they don't get frostbite! Tonight , we're supposed to get single digit wind chills. More tea and blankets!!!

Chris - stay warm!! I sure miss sledding as a kid. We USED to get snow here and actually owned sleds. Now it's just ice. Ick.

That guy seems like one of those loud obnoxious yahoos anyway. Probably very insecure. It's just annoying to me b/c I have spent the majority of my life trying to not look so skinny. Trying to prove that I do indeed eat. I am thin, but I am also muscular. So when people say that, it's like, man, all this work lifting weights, can't they even see???? Then of course I start doubting myself. Silly I know. It did actually make me push harder though. I just need to use that negative stuff as motivation is all.

I am suppose to do Cardio Fusion tonite and I have no desire to do it 1.because most of it is BM2 and 2.It just doesn't do anything for me. What should I substitute for it or should I just do it?

Roxie - I may be too late, but just find a cardio that you enjoy that's about the same time frame.

Hi girls!;)

I read everyone's post today. I see you all have had some great workouts today, great job!

Debbie- I do appreciate your two cents. I was wondering if I had taken on workout schedule that is a bit overly ambitious. I just wanted to do Cathe's December 2009 workout since its a timesaver one and thought it would be a good one to match up with P90X. I'm finding I don't care for the YogaX part so far its too long and boring, plus it kills my wrist and the twisting poses etc... need to have modifications. I fell six times and that's not good. this yoga one doesn't really show modifications as much as it should. I prefer yoga taught by yoga instructors like: Rodney Yee, Brian Kest, Baron Baptiste, and Sara Ivanhoe. I have their DVD's and think they are very good at showing modifications which I need because of my MS impaired balance. I still want to do P90X and Cathe's rotation for this month. I think I might have to modify Cathe's rotation to work with doing two different rotations at once. I'm just anxious to lose weight and burn calories. Thanks for your always helpful and insightful fitness advice and expertise, I really do appreciate the input. Thanks!:)

Here's today's workout:

Gym Style Legs …Premix #2….Timesaver 2 (49 min)= 49 Min
Calories burned= 401 Love this workout, It is so much fun!:)

P90X YogaX= 48 min
Calories burned= 197
My wrists hate P90X Yoga and my balance is not so good anymore due to MS. I used to have balance like a dancer. I fell a half dozen times during this and I think I will opt for Bryan Kest, Rodney Yee, or Baron Baptiste DVD's in place of P90X YogaX.
Total calories burned in today's workout= 598

That's it for me today, I think I'll go look at my workout Calendar for this week and see where I can modify it. Thanks for the sound advice Debbie;):)
Have a good evening girls, and I'll see ya at tomorrow's check in.;)

Hugs!:);)
