Morning! I got up early and did Tracey Staehle's Step Sweatfest- love love that workout.

Belinda: Good workout! Glad you are getting through STS- I know you'll make it this time! I have a hard time with the plates section too- I need to do it more often I guess.

Contemplating a whole body weight workout for tomorrow- MIS? Or maybe Tracey Staehle's Parts Series? I am giving myself permission to screw around with whatever for the next week or so and am kind of enjoying it. Kids are still asleep- what is up with THAT?

I was sooo tired last night, but I felt better thinking that today would be a rest day. HOWEVER, I wanted to double check the rotation and discovered today was not going to be a rest day - Gym Style Legs was on the agenda instead! Augh!

So, with that being said. I pulled my butt out of bed this morning and kicked out GSL. Great workout. To the point, no nonsense. phew! Glad its over though!

BBL!

Hi ladies. Looks like everyone is off and running already! I woke up to pouring rain, thunder, and lightening and one scared dog. I have a 3-block walk from my parking lot to my office (today it was a hobble and slosh). Not the best way to start a hump day. I go to the doctor at 10:30 central time and will post back with what he has to say about my ankle. It's not gotten better unfortunately. I did manage the weights part of Weights & Plates abs and just stretched last night.

Nora – great job on your cardio yesterday. Take care of that knee. We may end up having to change the name of this thread to “Crazy & Injured” LOL

Roxie – Glad to hear that your workout last night went more smoothly. It always helps when things start clicking into place.

Belinda – Good job with your cardio coach workout. Sounds like you worked your tail off! I love the weights & plates abs. That one is one of my favs. My plates are starting to get worn though. Need to dig out some more. I want to learn Italian too! My dad’s side is Italian, and I would LOVE to go over to Italy and try to see where my great-grandparents grew up. Have fun with it!

Karen – high 5’s to you for being able to do legs first thing in the morning!!! I can do cardio in the AM, but not weights. I just don’t feel awake enough or strong enough – especially legs.

Patti – sounds like you’re off to a good start too. I have never tried any of Tracey Staehle’s workouts. I have her latest step one on my Netflix rotation to try. It just has a short wait on it.

Happy Wednesday!
Heather

Hey Everyone!!!

Quickie for now:

I'm heading down to start PH, and then continuing our packing adventure for the beach. Our hotel check in isn't until 3p, so we have a few hours, but I'm WIRED from my 1 cup of coffee and a bad night's sleep....

BBL!

Today was Legs. I did Meso 1, Disc 3, Legs. Had an ok workout. Legs are my least favorite to train and this workout didn't make it any easier. Lots of different exercises that I kind of thought were stupid, but they did feel effective. I'll see if I get sore later on or tomorrow. Worked up a good sweat.

Walking Lunges & Plie Squats (body weight) - Lots of sets/Body weight
One Leg Touch Down Squats - 15 reps each leg **I liked this exercise
Firewalkers (band) - Green band - Lots of reps
One Leg Elevated Lunges (1 dumbell) - 6 reps each leg - 15's
Deadlifts Wide Stance (dumbbell) - 25's - 15 reps
One Leg Slide Back Lunges with Paper Plate (dumbbell) - started with 15#, went down to 12#, should have used 8#! This was hard on my back. - 16 reps each leg.
Side Slide Lunges with Paper Plate - Started with 12's then just did it with my bw. This was hard on my back as well.
Wall Squat with Ball and Leg Extension (body weight) - 10 reps per leg. This is a stupid exercise.
Wide stance Squats (dumbbell) - 25's - 16 reps
Calf Raises (dumbbell) - 25's - 40 reps
Front Lunge Same Leg (dumbbell) - 15's - 15 reps
Stiff Legged Deadlift on Platform (dumbell) - 25's - 15 reps
Wall Squats Double Leg (dumbbells) - This was a weird exercise. Tried using 15's but they were too heavy so I just stopped using them. It was hard for me to get all the way down towards the floor to pick them up. - 8 reps, but long rep counts.
Lateral Step Ups (1 dumbbell) - 12# - 15 reps each leg.
Drop Side Lunges & Stand with Leg Lift (1 dumbbell) - 12# - 15 reps each leg.
Sequential Lunge Into Front Kick Combo - 15 reps each leg.
Squats Narrow Stance (dumbbell) - 25's - 15 reps
Calf Raises (dumbbell) - 25's - 40 reps
Deadlifts Wide Stance (dumbbell) - 25's - 15 reps

BONUS:
These were all body weight exercises and burned like crazy!
Pulse leg to side strait leg 24 reps (R & L)
Bent Leg Pulse to Side balance paper plate
Front/Back fan Kicks 12 reps (f & B = 1 rep)
Calf Raises (body weight)
Tibialis Press and Pulls with Stability ball

Debbie - I had to giggle when you said "that I kind of thought were stupid". The first time I did those 1-leg slide backs with plates, I started with 12's and got down there and seriously questioned what to do next. Could I stand, do I just fall over...what to do what to do! My rear end had never been sooooo sore after Meso 1 legs though. I loved the bonus work on those DVDs too.

Good job!

Chris - have fun with PH. That's one of my all time favs! I'm jealous about your beach trip. I absolutely adore going to the beach. It's always our first vacation of the year!

Heather

Hi ladies,

Patti I am glad I am not the only one! I skipped a few! LOL! I should have done the abs first(I usually do) than UB wo! My arms were fried afterwards.

Bev. Nice job with Tracey Staehle's Step Sweatfest. I always wanted to get that one, I am to lazy to learn new steps, I am glad I have Cathe’s down.

Karen, good for you getting up and getting GS legs in this morning.

Heather, can’t say, that Weights & Plates abs are my favorite! Good luck at the doctor today.

Chris, enjoy PH! Hope the coffee wears off!

Debbie, the wall spats double leg with the dumbbells, I keep my DB in my hands! LOL! I can’t get up! :rolleyes:Glad you enjoyed your workout!

Off to do some more work! BBL!

Good morning, girls -

I begged off this vacation with the family, so I'm HOME ALONE! I don't know what to do first! Or NOT do!
Good job, Debbie on STS. How many days are you doing cardio with that?
Heather, I hope your injury is not serious. Let us know.
Karen, I don't like GS Legs on a good day - way to go!
Patti, hope you are enjoying your morning while your little ones sleep. I'll put your workout on my Netflix. I liked that other Tracey one I got - I already forgot the name. But I did NOT care for the last Amy Kickbox Extreme. Of COURSE you "like this song", Amy - it's your video!
Chris - yeah for you for your beach trip - have a blast!
Belinda - very cool on your language course. Great job on your workout!
Hi Bev and Nora!
I'll do PH later and check back....

Belinda - I meant to comment on you learning Italian. I think that is so cool and would love to do that myself. I was born in Italy but can't speak the language except a few words here and there. My mom use to try to teach me but I never wanted to learn as a child. Now I can kick myself. So have fun with that!!!

Wendy - I'm doing 2 days of cardio and 1 day of yoga along with STS.

Heather - LMAO on your description of that one exercise. I did the same thing. Do I pick up the weight? Should I leave it on the floor? LMAO! You know, I can surely see how injuries can happen with this series. You really have to be careful with it.

Hey all...

DH is still packing the car as I sit in the nice AC'd house! *ahhh*

Belinda: WTG on DISC 8, looks like a good one! I always liked the upper body STS the best. Very cool about learning Italian. My son is taking Spanish this coming year in school and I'm looking forward to getting refreshed in it. I can speak just "un poco".

Patti
: I love cardio days! That step fest sounds fun!... MIS was tough, and actually PH was tough today too. I'm sure you'll pick a good one...

Karen: OMG on thinking you had a rest day, and then having to crank out GS Legs!! You're good!

Debbie
: Good job on STS today. I know, legs is not my fave either. I bet you'll feel it tomorrow doing all those "weird" moves! I loved the bonus moves at the end. I wished she'd done them through the whole series, but there's maybe just one week of them? Or 2?

Heather
: At least it wasn't nice out and you'd be craving a run, right? Good opportunity to get in some good stretches. You can make this your rest 'week' before you start your big rotation. HOPE you hear good news today!!... yes, I love love love the beach. I get all stressed up getting ready, but once I smell the salt air and hear the waves....ahhhhh... the stress leaves like magic. Can't wait!

Wendy
: have fun ALONE! Sounds like a nice break for you. Enjoy PH!!! and all those static lunges!! UGH!

Nora: good job on the run yesterday!! hope you're feeling better and the weather is cooler there.

*WAVE* to Bev!!

okay, MUST go get my *#&% together!

Have fun Chris!

Am I the only sick one that loves static lunges? I do!

Wendy: LMAO at your Amy remark- I always think that too. Well DUH you love the song, you picked it! But I try not to get too worked up about it or I won't want to do the wo. The Tracey step wo is great but footwork is a bit tricky at first. It's fun, though.

Debbie: For the record, I think the STS leg workouts in Meso 1 were just OK- nothing too earth shattering. But the trisets in Meso 2 really kicked my butt in a major way- DOMS so bad I hobbled. It was great. :D

Good Morning,

Tonite is Si6 Start it UP and six pack abs. I woke up with a migraine again today and everything at work is crazy. I had DH take before pictures but we haven't posted them yet and then after the 6 weeks I will take after pictures.

Patti - I'm sick too. I have no problems with static lunges - my favorites are those in PH for some crazy reason. On the other hand I HATE step ups, especially with the band. Oh, sit n' stand kind of suck too LOL.

Heather

Have fun Chris!

Am I the only sick one that loves static lunges? I do!

Well, as I suspected, the x-rays showed nothing. That's good news really. I just spent 2 hours there to hear that I should just be taking advil...

Guess I'll just have to wait it out and see.

Heather

Well, I guess that is good news. Better then you tore a ligament or something. Just rest it up, ice it and I'm sure you'll be good to go in a few days.

Heather: Glad it isn't something terrible, but annoying to not know, either. Debbie's advice is of course the best thing, but I get how hard that is too. Rest up girl, you got a big rotation starting soon! :D Hmm, step ups aren't my favorite either- ME about sends me over the edge that way.

PH is done! Good workout. I like the warm up in this one. I don't think she warms up with a BB in anything else...?? At least the ones I have.
Roxie - sorry you have a migrain and work is hectic.
Heather - I know it probably feels like a waste of time being at the dr, but now you know, right?
I need to get some shirts ironed for work. That was the deal: I stay home by myself and get in a few extra days $$ of work.
Debbie - we got bikes about a month ago. I told him I was getting one and that was that. Of course he got one, too - and I'm trying to work extra to pay for them. We each got a Honda CBR600RR. I LOVE IT!! Mine is black and green and his is red/white/blue. Sweet! I'll try to get a ride in later!
Enjoy your day everyone....

HOLY CRAP! You got a sport bike!? That is SAWEET! I really like it. I bet that thing moves. My dh has a Ninja, I can't ride on those kinds of bikes, they hurt my back. I love my Yamaha Vstar but my next bike will be a Yamaha Silverado. Those are sweet bikes too!!! Wow, I'm so happy to hear you got bikes, that is just too damn cool!!!!
