Crazy Strong and Loving It for Aug 15, 2009

Good Morning,

Headed up to do Ramp it Up since I have to spend the next 2 days in a swimsuit want to look good.

Today I felt like kicking myself in the butt, so I chose to do Mindy Mylreas Interval Express! Wow! What a workout. I was really pushing it. My HR monitor was always in the 170s by the end of the interval blasts. The last one with the power lunges actually pushed it to 180! I thought I was going to pass out. :p I burned 553 calories by the time it was all through and then because I was still "up there" - I took my dog for a short walk to cool down. Total calories burned 618! Boy do I feel great!

Anyway, its off to starbucks :p Then to the bookstore and random shopping. I hope everyone has a great workout today!

Went to Amish country with my cousins and a friend yesterday so I didn't have time to post. I did get up early and workout. I did Meso 1, Disc 7, Chest, Shoulders & Biceps. Had an excellent workout. I can't believe all the pushups this crazy woman does!

Crossover Pushups - 16 (I liked these)

Dropsets:
Standing Overhead Press Both Arms (dumbbell) - 20's/10 reps
Standing Overhead Press Both Arms (dumbbell) - 17's/10 reps
Standing Overhead Press Both Arms (dumbbell) - 15's/8 reps (was suppose to be 10)

Barbell Curl- 45#/10 reps different rep counts
Pushups on Stability Ball Elmo Style - 15 reps (I cannot do these. I have no balance and when I can do a few of them I don't feel anything.)
Standing Front Raise (barbell) - 20#/15 reps
Seated Incline Hammer Curls Both Arms - 17's/16 reps
Chest Flys (Flat Bench) (dumbbell) - 25's/15 reps (good weight for this)
Seated Overhead Press (dumbbell) - 15's/15 reps
One Arm Preacher Curl Stability Ball (dumbbell) - 20#/15 reps each arm (I like these)
Push Ups - Standard - 8 reps
Push Up Wide - 8 reps
Push Ups - Standard - 30 reps (did 10 on my toes and 20 on my knees)
Alternating Seated Overhead Shoulder Press (dumbbell) - 12's/15 reps
Seated Barbell Isolation Curls - 30#/15 reps (I liked this too. Could have gone heavier)
Chest Flys on Stability Ball (dumbbell) - 25's/15 reps
Lateral Side to Front Combo (dumbbell) - Started with 8's, way too heavy, dropped to 5's/8 reps different counts
Incline Band Hammer Curl - Green band (this exercise was cool)
Straddle Pushups - 18 reps (these are easy for me)
Side Leaning Lateral Raise (dumbbell) - 6#/15 reps
Seated Curls Alternating + Both Arms (dumbbell) - 15's - 16 reps then 4 reps with both arms
Staggered Pushups - 16 reps (I really like these too)
Bow and Arrow w/ Band - Green Band (Love these!)
Barbell Curl Wide Grip - 40#/21 (7 low, 7 high, 7 full)

Drop Sets, 10 second rest between each set:

Standing Barbell Front Press - 25#/21 (7 high end, 7 low end, 7 full)
Barbell Curl Narrow Grip - 40#/21 (7 low, 7 high, 7 full)

Love the 21 exercises. Those really give me a great burn. And I really liked all the pushups in this workout except for the Elmo style ones on the Stability Ball.

Had a great time in Amish country but ate way too much. Will really try to eat well this weekend.

Karen - That sounds like a really good workout. I don't care much for Mindy, but I only had one of her ab workout DVD's. Maybe her cardio stuff is better?
 
Ok, so today I did cardio and chose Tracey's Strikezone. This is the 2nd time I did this workout and I really loved it this time. Very fun sections. I skipped the spiderweb's, though, I just can't do them. One of these days I'll practice those and then I'll start doing that section.

HR got up there, I used my 1# hand weights too. That always helps get my HR up. Had a blast. I cannot wait for Strikezone II!

Debbie - I don't care for some of Mindy's newer stuff. I bought her bootcamp workout a while back and the queuing was kind of bad. I recently just bought her two newest workouts but haven't tried them yet (they did look challenging though) However, I have quite a few of her older cardio workouts and I love them. They aren't very dancy - just straight to business. She is a bit of a character and makes some interesting comments - but she is a welcome change sometimes after doing Cathe workouts for so long.
 
Hey Everyone!

Today was scheduled to be 45 Interval Run. I wish I could have, but my boys are all home , and I couldn't take off for a run. So instead I did Turbo Jam's Fat Blaster (intervals) and then, instead of a segment from Abs Circuit, I did the Abs Mix Premix from COREMAX..it had a bit of everything in it, SB, Med Ball and floorwork. Cool!

I've been having this nagging ache in my right flank and back area, it's not horrible, but enough to make me know its there continuously! And I'm not sure if I got it after the coremax segment too..maybe I pulled something?

other than that, a little bit of cleaning today and then work tonight..

Did you guys see Cathe on Fox Business show? She did awesome!! I'm excited she's doing so well, and thought it was so cool that one of the hosts does her workouts all the time, and was excited about meeting her! LOL!

Belinda: We had similiar workouts today! I wonder what you ended up doing...

: Great STS workout yesterday!! I can't hardly remember what the heck those Elmo push ups were and if I could do them (probably not). you're rocking on the weights!! ... That's one thing we didn't do when we were in PA that I wanted to, visit Amish country. But my boys are too young and I'm sure we wouldn't ahve been able to see it the way we should ("Can we GOOO yet, MOmmyyyy??") Do you live in PA?.... I think I have that Strikezone, because I have one with those spiderman thingies. Couldn't get them either, but I bet one day I (we) will!

Karen: Oh i love that Mindy workout! It kicked my butt too! Did you do the Step AND the Hi/Lo or just the step? The step is an awesome workout, and her energy is catchy and makes ya want to do it. My HR got up there with FB intervals today too... low 170's during the intervals!

Nora: I was thinking of you yesterday doing GS, LEGS. I was thinking about how you LIKE lower body work and trying to enjoy it too! As I said, the weight work is ok, but the Ball stuff...forgetaboutit! Good job on gettting through that yesterday!!!

So my DH's work schedule is changing, and he asked me to get P90X for him ...he wants to start working out(it's been forever for him, since we were first married ... 21 yrs ago..maybe??). I found it on Ebay and ordered it Thursday. I'm excited about it, maybe I'll give it a shot! Do you guys have it and have you done it and what do you think of it? ... I did try to talk him into doing STS, but he's very put off by the Stability Ball work, and the plates, etc. he just wants weights...

Today was a cardio day, but I felt like incorporating upper body. So I chose BM2 Bootcamp premix. It was really good. 80min/ 573 calories or something like that.

Hi girls,

Sorry I didn't post my workout this morning. DH and I went for a 45min.run this morning, we also took the dogs for a 30 min. walk. It finally stopped rainingl, it was so nice outside today.

DH and I just came back from visiting my sister's in Nuenberg. We had a fantastic time, we ate way to much:confused:

I am to tired for personals, but I have lot's of time tomorrow.

Looks like everyone is having a great workout.

Wow, sounds like everyone is getting in some really good workouts this Saturday. I did back and chest (GS). After S&H last week, GS almost felt like muscle endurance, flying through the sets. I kept yelling at Cathe to hold up a sec. LOL. Let a woman rest between sets for crying out loud. Still not feeling like I'm getting a good chest workout. I don't know if my form is wrong or what's going on. I know you don't have to be sore to be getting a good workout, but I feel like I should be feeling something...

Chris-I haven't done Turbo Jam in ages, food for you! I know its alot of fun. Great job on Core Max today, I love ab work even though its tough. I'm just sort of crazy that way:p

Debbie-I love Strikezone, I understand there will be a strikezone 2!!!! I can't wait for that. I haven't heard yet as to when that will be available to buy.
