I had one full-term pregnancy and there were two cravings. One was for Calmyrna figs. I would jump out of bed and eat a 12 oz bag! Later I found out that they are an excellent source of calcium. This lasted for a long time. I didn't always give in, due to all the sugar and calories, but I craved them.
The second was chicken salad. I was a vegetarian, but a couple of times I went to a particular restaurant in Virginia Beach and got a chicken salad pita sandwich. The chicken salad had apples, raisins, celery and onion and light mayo. I would eat it like a lunatic.
My daughter is almost 19, so the memories are pretty weak of the pregnancy, but I remember those cravings! Remarkable!
