Cottage Cheese

Where can I find low-sodium cottage cheese? I have looked all over my city and can't find it anywhere.

I am on a sodium restricted diet due to an ear disease and really miss the cottage cheese. It's funny because I hated it as a kid.

I live in the DFW area and have access to Whole Foods Market, several health food stores and regular grocery stores that seem to be carrying a lot more "natural" products. Do you think one of the stores would be willing to carry it if I requested it?

I buy mine at Safeway. It's made by Lucerne, no salt added, 1% milkfat (green & white plastic container). It does have 45 mg. of sodium, but much less than regular cottage cheese. Whenever I taste the regular kind, I notice how incredibly salty it is. Why, oh why, do they need to put extra salt in everything?

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I don't have a Safeway around me but now that I know the brand, perhaps a local store can special order it.
