~~~~Coolers in September~~~
Cathlete
So this morning I tried out another ExerciseTV On Demand. One on One Abs with Jackie Warner. Not bad, but her trainers must not have been happy to do this workout. :eek: To me it looked like there was only one or two of them that where into doing the wokrout. The 20 min went fast, and most of the ab exercises where ones that Jillian incorporates in her workouts. But it was like taking all of the ab workouts in one combo, so you really do work your core, with a little cardio thrown in.
Patricia, I have been trying to get the weight ticker to work, and it hasn't worked. Maybe they fixed something on there so I will try again. Oh have fun with KM, that is one of her toughest as far as cardio! :eek: We have the sun, but dang it is still not very warm! :D I LOVE it! Just the best weather.
Well Duh! It's September. I even helped DS flip the calendar this a.m. Thanks for starting a new thread Laurie.
Laurie - for the Ticker, I just went into Cathe Fun and updated it there. I think I have to update it manually though as I've not imported the rotation into the w/o mgr.
The kids are sure enjoying the last week of holidays. Out for lunch with my mom and now they're at my sister's for a sleepover and then to hang out at their pool all day tomorrow. It's supposed to be 29 Celsius here tomorrow. We had no kids so DH and I went to the Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner. Came home and I sure didn't feel like working out, but I did! These shorter CLX workouts are so much less intimidating than Cathe's
I was reading some of Cathe's posts last night and was starting to think how I missed her workouts and maybe I would skip to the Sept rotation instead of the last month of CLX. Then I looked at the Sept rotation and quickly changed my mind:p, it looked like way too much work.
LOL Kim on the too much work! Well, I sure did not get much of a w/o at BB last night but was too depressed from losing to want to w/o when I got home. Had 2 bowls of Black Cherry ice cream instead:rolleyes::rolleyes::confused: Oh well, today is another day. We lost against a team that we demolished 3x during season play and they got back at us during play-offs! So BB is now officially over:(
My car is still in the shop. I so hope I get it back today. Sooo not looking forward to the bill now.
Popping out of work for a little while this a.m. Taking DS to meet his new JK teacher today.
I think I'll do Imax2 tonight. I'm missing step.
Morning All,
This morning my workout was Prevention Kick Start Your Metabolism with Chris Freytag. I really liked it, and will use weighted gloves the next time. I am planning on using this workout for the recovery weeks in STS. ;)
Patricia, :D:D Yes September has snuck up on us hasn't it. :D Sorry to hear that your team lost. :( And totally understand the need to drown your sorrow with some good ice cream. :)
Kim, We are having the cold weather also. This morning I needed a jacket and sweatshirt when walking the dog! :confused: But apparently this summer doesn't even make the top ten for being the coldest since they started recording temps. :eek: LOL about the not wanting to do the Sept rotation, now you make me curious as to what workouts she has on it. :D
Both my DD's where on the bus for school, and they looked way to cute! Oldest looked like she just stepped of the runway or fashion mag! :rolleyes: She had on what I would call sailer shorts, a white t-shirt, scarf and boots. :cool: She found a dress for $50 last night, and we got 10% off of that. Then she found shoes that matched, so it was buy on get one half off. With the coupon I had she ended up getting the shoes for free! :eek: Youngest had her hair straight, and because her hair is so curly I didn't realize how long her hair actually is. :eek:
Oh, how was everyone's first day of school?? We have another week off yet! We still have a little vacation this weekend before summer holidays are over. By the way we still have summer, hot and sunny all week. It's the hottest it's been all season:cool::cool:
I can't spend much time as I have to figure out how to get the gum out of the dryer. It is so stuck on from the heat:mad::mad:
Eh, gross with the gum. Have no suggestions though Kim:eek:
I did Imax2 tonight. Up to and including blast 7. That is one tough w/o. I just couldn't finish it. Still no car. They ended up replacing a bearing in the transmission. So I think the part is cheap, but the labour is going to kill me:eek:
Do either of you read the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon? I just saw she has another one coming out Sept. 22nd. I can't wait. Her books are worth it in hard cover.
Kim - DS's teacher seemed really nice. She just needs to learn how to talk to adults differently then children! DS goes next Fri. for a 1/2 day then the following Mon he starts up full days. I'm so stressing about what to pack for his 2 nutrition breaks.
Morning All,
Workout this morning was Ilaria's Bodystrikes, which focused on the lower body and abs. Good workout, that I will use for recovery week in STS. ;)
DD's both had a great start to their school year, they both have teachers that they don't like. :rolleyes: Oh well!
Kim, Sorry to hear about the gum. The only thing I can recommend is peanut butter (used this to get it out of hair), or goo-be gone. ;) Both are oil based, but one smells much better than the other. :eek:
Patricia, I have read the first book in the Outlander series, but have never been able to get through the second book. I get to the part where he is in prision and the book goes bad for me. :( My DH tells me to just skip that part, but I'm one of these that needs to know the details. Because I'm sure they reference things and I don't want to be WHAT! :rolleyes: Horrible I know. What do they not let you take for their snacks? I used to send apples, or granola bars. ;) Dried fruit is always good, if your DS likes that kind of thing. Dried apples, and bananas.
Have a great day!
Laurie
Well, off to p/u my car. I'm poor for the next few months (well good thing I got my annual raise yesterday:))
We're having a corn roast on site here for the entire site, so I helped shuck corn for 1.5hrs this a.m. Just ate some and boy was it good:D
Kim - good ideas on the snacks. I gave DS baby carrots and sliced cucumbers last night for dinner and told him to start eating them now as he had better get used to seeing them at school:p I pre-ordered the book. I guess I'm not that poor to pay $20 but my sister wants to read it too!
Off to find someone to drive me to the mechanics.
Got my car back and it seems to be running just fine now, thankfully.:cool:
Tonight I did Charlene Prickett - 1/2hr low impact from her t.v. show which with editing the commercials was closer to 20min. I wanted some ab work so did SSEX Cardio Core for another 1/2hr.
All packed for the weekend. I'm expecting to be off work early afternoon. DH is already at the cottage to get a full day of work in tomorrow. I've got it soooo good.
DS seems a bit under the weather this evening so hopefully something he just sleeps off.
Oh, I was at Walmart tonight and saw Season 3 of Heros and couldn't resist. Anyone else watch that series?
I'm off to do CLX which will be the end of week 5 out of 12. :D
Then we're off on our trip. I'm very excited! We're going to Regina ( my hometown) which is about a 5.5 hr drive. Saturday is my cousin's wedding (mom's side). He's marrying a girl he met while working in Japan so haven't met her yet. Then Sunday we're going to the football game with 59 family members from both sides of the family. This is a big event as the cities are big rivals. Then Sunday night, my dad's family is having a family reunion. Then driving home Monday. It's going to be a very busy, very fun weekend.
patricia Glad you got the car back! Have a great weekend at the cottage, hope you have great weather!
Laurie A patient of mine suggest peanut butter as well but seemed so busy. I got it off with ice and a butter knife. That's too bad the girls don't like their teachers, is it really going to be a issue?
Have a great weekend! Kim
Morning All,
No workout for me, I didn't sleep very well and woke up with a sinus headache. DH took the dog for her morning walk. :eek:
After work I'm going to DD's cross country meet, it is very near where I work. ;) Then I have to drive both girls to my sisters trailer, they are heading up to my brothers cabin for the weekend.
Patricia, Glad you have your car back, and that you where able to get your book too. ;) I still have to get the new Sandra Brown book. Have a great time at your cabin. :)
Kim, Have a great weekend, sounds like a great time will be had. My hometown doesn't have football anymore, just to expensive. :( I'm hoping that the teachers will not be an issue, my oldest sometimes has a hard time with teachers when she thinks the teacher has it in for her. :rolleyes: Oh ya, that teacher is just out to get you! With all the students she deals with during the day, she just picks on you! :rolleyes:
Have a great weekend, and talk to you all on Tuesday.
Good Labour Day Evening Coolers
Just completed Disc 25 - B/C - Had DH help me with the chest presses. He saw what Cathe lifted and goes "Holy Sh**t how much is she lifting":p Whenever he came into spot for me instead of watching me he watched the t.v.!
Could not have asked for a better weekend weather wise. Even took delivery of my kayak. I got out in it about 2x, even took DS for a spin. Not sure if I'll get him back in as he likes to go fast. I keep telling him I'm the motor and I can only go so fast:rolleyes:
Kim - hope you're not too fed up being around family:D Wow, did all 59 of you sit together at the game?
Laurie - was it just your and DH for the weekend? I guess it's back to chaufeering (sp?) the kids around to their extra curricular sports activities again eh?
Morning All,
We are done with faire, and I'm so happy my weekends are free again. ;)
Oldest DD didn't do well in her run on Friday. I asked her what she ate all day. "Chicken Nuggets" was the response. :eek: No wonder you didn't have any energy to run 2.5 miles. :rolleyes: She wasn't eating breakfast, and I thought she was. So this morning I put together a strawberry banana protien smoothie. Her doctor said she needed to gain some weight anyway. :D She was drinking that while she was getting herself ready for school. You see making your hair and face pretty is more important than putting nutrition in your body! :eek: Now I am going to show my DH how to make the smoothies so that she gets breakfast in the morning. :D
Patricia, Yes it was just DH and I this weekend. I am back to the chauffer mom again. At least dance doesn't start up until October. :) I had to LOL about your DS wanting the kayak to go fast. :D He would have had fun with my DD's this weekend, they went water skying. ;)
Kim, Hope your weekend was fun.
Have a great day!
Oh my goodness, what a whirlwind of a weekend. It was a blast! We got going by noon on Friday and drove 5.5 hrs staight except for a coffee/potty/gas break:D We hit the outskirts of Regina and there was a Chuck' Cheesy's (?sp) which we don't have at home. So stopped there for supper and the kids had so much fun. Then on to the hotel where we had to hit the waterpark where we found some other family members. Then ds babysat the younger kids while the adults had a drink in the lounge.
Saturday was a quick tour of the city to show the kids, swimming and then we got ready for the wedding. The wedding was at a beautiful outdoor farm but it was so hot. 34 Celsius sitting outside on the open prairie with no shade :confused: There was about 120 people at the wedding (and some spoke only Japanese) and 57 were the groom's extended family and we got a picture of everyone:D in one big group picture. My grandparents descendents, the first time in many years that we were all together.
The hotel was quite the party hotel for the football game so airhorns started to go off sunday morning at 7:30. We were able to fit in a quick swim, then a visit to the Science museum before the game. The city is huge into their football and we're the main rivals. We got so much attention walking around in our blue jersersy, ds just had a blast. Yes, all 59 of us sat together, only a handful in blue, most were part of the green sea. This game has a reputation of being very rowdy but we had no problems. Our team lost:( which was no surprise. Then off to my cousin's for a famly reunion for my dad's side of the family. Which was fun everythough it was decorated in green:rolleyes: football stuff. We're talking about making the football game an annual event.
Tonight we met the teachers and tomorrow is the first day of school. My relatives couldn't believe the kids hadn't gone back yet. We're so much later than everyone else.
Laurie Did your dd's have some hot weather for the weekend?? I love waterskiing! I've read that fruit shakes are one of the healthiest things for breakfast!
Patricia The kayak sounds like fun. My mom has often talked about getting one for the cottage. Was your DH impressed with the weight that you were lifting?
Kim
Evening Coolers
Just finished DM - the timesaver premix#1 thats just the blast - hard hard hard:eek: But I did it. Then did Ab Circuit - med ball premix. I think that's about the 1st time I've worked the abs in a while. I couldn't use my 8# ball like I used to:rolleyes:
I went to the chiropractor to loosen up my neck and shoulder and booked a massage for tomorrow night. So looking forward to that.
Laurie - I would just LOVE LOVE a fruit smoothie every morning delivered to my bedside table when I wake up:) Just how many calories can there be in one of those? I often buy them at the mall.
Kim - Loved reading your post and how much fun you had this weekend. Don't you wonder why there isn't more fun like that sometimes? It would be great to start an annual tradition. A good way to end summer and celebrate the start of school. 34c - the highest I've seen this summer might be 25! I'm waiting for DH to comment on my "guns". If he doesn't by the end of M3 then I give up!:eek:
I'm tuckered, so off to bed for this Cathlete.
I have a little extra time this morning as I'm going in a little late so I can see the kids off to school. Have to take those first day pictures:D Actually, I thought the kids were fine on their own this year but dd decided she needed me to take her the first day. I think she is a little nervous as she has a male teacher even though ds had him before and he's very nice.
I'm still plugging away on CLX, worked out Monday night after we got home, and yesterday. Doing week 6 out of 12. I don't love these workots and don't dislike them. I'm sure I'll finish off the rotation but probably wouldn't do another one. Have you started STS Laurie??
Morning Coolers
Since I have a massage appt tonight and didn't want to ruin the benefits of it by working out right after I HAULED myself out of bed at 5am and did Disc 26 - plyo legs. What a puke in a bucket w/o that is:eek: I couldn't finish the last 4 drills but proud of myself for getting as far as I did, especially due to the time of day. I laid there in bed after the alarm went off and had to guilt myself into getting out of bed:rolleyes:
I must say I do feel good though, but starving. A couple years ago I got up at 5am for 2 months to w/o and each night I was in bed by 9pm and falling asleep driving to work:confused:
Kim - I somewhat agree with you on your feelings for CLX. I think I'll do another round since I'm more familiar with it now and then decide whether to keep it or not. I think my legs were really taking shape with it. I take DS for 1/2 day JK on Fri. and pick him up, then Mon. he gets the school bus at his day-care so I guess picture taking for me will be this Friday! I'm soooo nervous about him getting on the school bus at the end of the day and knowing to get off at the day-care. Tell your DD that the male teachers are better than the females. I always enjoyed them more.
Waving hi to Laurie.
Morning All,
This morning my workout was Barry's Bootcamp Lower Body, and more 1RM's. Will need to get more in tonight if I plan on starting up on the 14th. ;)
Kim, Loved hearing about your trip, you sure packed in a lot of activities. Sounds like a great time though. :D My youngest DD had a male teacher last year, and really did well in his class. Yes the girls had some great weather up north. I think this was probably the best weather they had when at the cabin. :D Nope I have not started STS yet, that will be my adventure on Monday. :cool:
Patricia, I know it is hard not to feel nervous, but the day-care people will make sure that you DS gets off the bus. They usually have a checklist. :D A massage sounds wonderful. ;) The smoothies I make are around 300 cal. I put in 3-4 ice cubes, 1 scoop of protein powder, 1/2 c fruit, 1/2 banana and 1/2c skim milk. Somtimes I will put in two different 1/2c's of fruit, and nix the banana. I am going to the store tonight to get chocolate whey protein, so that I can mix that with strawberries. Bet she will like that combo. She wants me to make something with kiwi.
Have a great day!
