Kim - don't feel so bad b/c I've re-read my posts and can't believe how bad my typing skills are (of course it can't be my spelling:p skills). You might remember Russell from the beginnng - he was very conniving - his team came back from almost being wiped out and only one guy (Brett) from the other team is left to defend his original team. Jaison (sp? - the black guy) and Mick - the doctor and Natalie are left. I don't know how parents manage everything with all the school activities and other extra curricular activities. I'm stressed out with just one kid, let alone multiply that work by each kid - Yikes.:eek:
 
Morning Coolers,

Today was my last day of STS Meso 3 with Disc 36 Shoulders, Biceps, Triceps! :D Will see how I am after shopping, I just might get in some cardio. Need some of that with all the eating that I have done this week.

Kim, That is a lot of stuff your DD would have had to carry. I only have to make gingerbread cookies, so not to bad for me. You have been busy with those school projects. :eek: Guess the teachers needed something to eat today! :rolleyes: Yep I'm finishing up my Christmas shopping. I have to get some things for the girls and DH. DH is probably getting a Wii game. He asked for dress shirts, but I am NOT getting him those. :D

Patricia, Yes the fun has just begun with you DS, and all the school projects. I love when the teachers say that they got too much help! :rolleyes: Like the child would accomplish some of these projects without the help of a parent! :rolleyes:

Just finished Jackie Warner's new DVD - Power Circuit Training. A very good 40min resistance workout. Will be doing this one again.

Have you seen the Travel Fit and Hiit 40/20 video clips. Look great but concerned abit about the music. I wish she had more motivating songs that push you and you can sing a long to, instead of the instrumental music that seems to be so popular now.
 
CONGRATS LAURIE!!!

I was so tempted not to workout last night after a busy week but Pinky (dd) saw me watching the video clips and started bugging me to workout because she wanted to workout. So we did a premix of B&G, and she did the whole thing with me. Patricia, she was commenting on how Cathe has much better music than Chalene or Shaun T, LOL. So you don't think the new dvds will have good music? I was paying much attention when I watched the video clips. The HITT workout looks like more fun than I was thinking it would be.

I did a premix from LIC this morning so finished the first week of the December rotation not sure if I'll finish it off or jump right into the new workouts when they get here.

Patricia, are you redoing your 1RM for another round of STS?

What game did you get DH?? A game is much more fun than shirts!

Got most of my Xmas shopping done and wrapped them all tonight. Some under the tree and others hidden for Santa to deliver Xmas a.m.:D:D I rented Terminator Salvation and it was good. The florist called and left a message to ask if I'd be home today for a delivery. Since I didn't get the message until 3ish I called back and said I was home the rest of the day and they said they would put my delivery next. Well, I did my workout and can't hear the door bell but told DS to listen for it. Anyhow, so no delivery. I'm wondering if DH sent flowers, as he maybe feeling guilty for going away this weekend???? If so, this would be VERY unusual as he thinks flowers are a waste of $$:confused:

Kim - just speculating about the music. I like words to my music as singing along is more motivating to me. Except that in Hiit I'm sure I'm going to find it difficult enough just breathing let alone talking/singing:p I haven't decided if I'm going to retest my 1rpms. I was thinking just maybe adding 1-2#s and see how it goes. Oh, I got DH the new PS3 game Avatar. Have no idea what it is about other than based on a movie:eek: He wants a stationary bike so I got a pamphlete and wrapped it and said we'd go shopping together for it after Xmas. Purchases like this I prefer the person to be there to pick it out as I know I'm particular when I want something specific. Jump into STS Cardio - I know that's what I'm going to do.:D

I already know DH got me a Cathe gift certifcate for Xmas. He spent way too much $$ but I won't turn it away. Let's just say that I'm all set for Cathe's next pre-order and probably her next Road Trip:D
 
Did you ever get the flowers, Patricia?

I'm thinking of not doing the 1RM, just because it's lots of work. It does self adjust so if I find I adjust a weight then if I enter it, the other workouts will get adjusted. So if I print out one workout at a time and tweak them as I go, it should be okay right?

Hopefully, Cathe gives you something to spend your certificates on! If she did a road trip to Minneapolis would you be interested?? That I would go too as it wouldn't cost a fortune. I priced out airfare to New Jersey before and that was insane. She mentioned Minneapolis as an option so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Did the leg blast premix from LIS which I never would have done if it wasn't on the rotation, that's a good part about rotations. It was a good little workout.

Got all my Christmas baking done yesterday:D:D so hope to get some house cleaning done today as I work right till Thursday at 4 and I'm hosting Christmas. This evening is dd's piano recital, she is playing My Favourite Things from Sound of Music and then ds has another hockey game.
 
I happened to see the Las Vegas weather on CNN, it's cold there! It was 40F this afternoon. Did you DH pack a winter jacket, LOL?

What a busy weekend! I managed to get most of my cookie baking finished, the only ones that are left would be the cut outs. :D First time making Ginterbread Cookies, and they where really good. Youngest DD's teacher gave her the recipe, and it must have come from the McCormick web page. Couldn't miss the McCormick on the ingredient list. :D They where very tasty.

Thanks for the Congrats on finishing STS, and am looking forward to getting my Shock Cardio. Would like to try out the MMA workouts.

Saturday I did Drill Max Leg Blast Premix, and Ab Circuit Med Ball Abs. Sunday was outdoors with Week 3, Day 1 of GW28K, and this morning was 4DS Bootcamp (cardio only), 30MTF Kickboxing #2 & Core/Abs. Still want to get in stretching when I get home. ;) Feeling a bit stiff this morning.

Patricia, I asked for that DVD for Christmas, hope I get it. I checked it out from OnDemand, so I know I will like the background people. I will have to check out the clips. I'm sure that you can find something to spend that gift cert. on. :D Did you get those flowers?

Kim, Good job on getting that baking done. Minneapolis is about a 6 hour drive for me. :D I would rather go to MN, that to Chicago! :rolleyes: How did your DD do at her recital?

Oh man, I was sooo sore from Jackie's w/o from Fri. I took Sun off. Did Michelle Dozois's Rockin Body cardio on Sat. but didn't seem to cure the DOMS. Today I did Jari's Slim & Lean.

Kim - I got the flowers on Sun. They were actually from some friends who we did a favour for recently so they sent this in appreciation. It was a nice gesture. I'm watching more of the STS Cardio DVD's and might have to rescind my speculation on not liking the music. I'm loving what I see of the Step ones:D Hey, I'm all for visiting Minneapolis. It will be easier to travel once we move next year back to T.O. and only a 1/2hr drive to the airport instead of 3.5hours (or an extra flight from here). Last year I flew on my Airmiles - used my M/C for all the cottage building material purchases:D and I've started putting groceries on my m/c as I figured I might as well earn some points if I have to spend the $$. Not re-do your 1RPM - is the sky falling:D finally you're relaxing. I'm with you on the tweaking:p I forgot to ask DH about the weather. (this is the guy who wears shorts all year round) He got home at 12:30am last night and today we haven't talked too much. He came home with the same $$ he went with so did good at the tables. They guys rented sports cars at a race track. Not sure if they go around by themselves as I don't think they would be allowed to race side by side.

Laurie - Gingerbread - my favourite. Do you know how to make ginger snaps - yum yum. Hey, we could have a "Cooler" table at a road trip. I think you will really like the DVD. I'm going to try and fit it in everyweek for the next little while.

Sounds like everyone is getting ready for Xmas. My last day is Wed. and not back until Jan. 4th. Really looking forward to a long break and family visiting.

Well my Shock Cardio was at my door yesterday when I got home! I have not tried a workout yet, but plan on starting with MMA Boxing tomorrow morning. This morning I got in W3D2 GW28K run on the treadmill. I am not brave enough to attempt running in the snow yet! :D We had a couple of inches on the ground, and the plow had not been through yet. I know big wimp! :rolleyes: I also was able to do Basic Stretch from TBS, that made the leg muscles feel really good.

Patricia, Sounds like a good workout from Jackie, so I'm hoping that my SIL gets it for me. :D I have not made gingersnaps, but my girls LOVE molasses cookies. This particular recipe had a 1/2c molasses in it. ;) That would be fun to get together and have a cooler table. :D How much are they charging for these trips?

My last workday is today, and I will also be off until Jan 4th. So will be enjoying the time off too. :D

Just finished BM2 - cardio timesaver and I am tuckered. One more day of work and that's it for this year:p:D My parents show up sometime tomorrow so tided up the house tonight. I just have a couple errands to do Xmas Eve and I'm all set to relax and enjoy the holidays.

Did I tell you the boss has catered a turkey lunch tomorrow? I love turkey - could eat it every day!

Well I am in LOVE with MMA Boxing. The workout reminds me of the KPC punching sections, with cardio after each segment. I really enjoyed the upper body blast and lower body blast. I used my weighted gloves, and I can feel it in my shoulders as I'm typing. :D The type of music really doesn't bother me, but I would say that this is techno. I listen to that type of music when I am running, so for me it was fine. I really liked the 2nd lower body blast segment (fast feet switch), and each of them really got the HR up. Your HR lowered during the punching segments, but the weighted gloves made this an overall calorie burner.

Patricia, You made me LOL when I read the first lines of your post! :D Sounds like a great lunch, I love turkey and stuffing. :D That has to be the best combo. Have a great time with your parents.

Yeah, I'm on VACATION:D:D and just finished up doing Jackie's new DVD. Still feeling the love but the WU and stretch is a joke. What I like there is enough energy left over to get in 20min cardio - I would have but my parents are here so that's my excuse!

Laurie - over at VF there was a Jillian thread that posted her 30 day rotation using all 3 DVDs so here is the link. I can barely take her once in a while let alone 30days in a row (hmm, but they said it gives results) How heavy of weight are your gloves? The reviews for MMA are sounding good. Love that there is a mix of intensity in this whole series.

Laurie, dd did great at her recital! It always amazes me that she is so shy to speak with people, but she is never nervous to get up and play the piano in front of a crowd.
YOU'RE already doing Shock Cardio!!! Keep the reviews coming! The first review sounds promising!

Patricia I haven't promised that I won't do the 1RM, I'll have to see how much my obsessive compulsive little voice in my head bugs me to do it but logically I know I don't really need to do it, right? That's great that DH came home even from Las Vegas. I didn't think Jackie's workouts would be that tough, hmm. Did you find her workouts in a store or off the internet?

So you're both on holidays, eh? I had my Disney vacation so now I'm stuck at the hospital. It's been very busy this week trying to get everyone in before the holidays. I've been there late most days this week! Monday night was our 19th wedding anniversary:D:D and so we went out for dinner (with kids:cool:) and then I came home and did Muscle Max upper body workout. Last night was another Christmas coworker get together so no workout just lots of treats. We've had so many candies/baking brough in my patients that we are just on sugar overload!

Not sure when everyone will be back online. I work a full day tomorrow and then head to my mom's for a Christmas dinner. Christmas day is lunch at my sister's and then I'm cooking Christmas dinner for DH's family (12 people).

Morning Coolers,

I'm getting ready to head downstairs to run on the treadmill. It is way to slippery outdoors today. Our driveway was glare ice, and on top of the snow was ice. :rolleyes: I'm sure it will be better as the day goes on, but I know if I don't get my run done now I will put it off and not do it. :eek:

The four of us will be opening presents tonight, and then tomorrow we go to DH's parents. We don't leave until Sunday morning to visit with my parents, and we should be back from there on Tuesday. Just hope the weather holds for us.

Patricia, Thanks for the link, I will check out what they are saying. That is the rotation that I had on my schedule, so I will make sure to check out the thread to see how they did. I'm not sure how I will feel about the step workout, because the step and I don't usually play well together. :D Have a great time with your parents.

Kim, To bad that you have to work, but just remember the fun times you had at Disney. ;) I've been indulging in the goodies way to much myself. :( But then again Christmas only comes around once a year! :D

Kim I guess it was your turn this year to work the holidays:( Wow, 19 years. My Mom was saying about my brother being married 20 years next summer and I can't believe has fast time has gone. Makes sense since their oldest is 18 though. I'm not feeling as much DOMS today from Jackies dvd but I think I went a bit lighter on the legs so that it wouldn't affect today's cardio workout. I'm using 8 to 15#s so it is more of a moderate weight w/o. I think it is a keeper. Amazing how are kids surprise us with what they can do. Sounds like you will have a busy next few days.

Laurie - I'm trying to decide when I can get my w/o in as I'm not a morning person AT ALL. Probably mid-afternoon. My parents have a sweet tooth, so they came with lots of goodies. Sooo tempting but I'm being good (for now...)

Anyhow, have a Merry Xmas. I think it might be a rest day for me:):p

Cute Patricia. Hope everyone had a GREAT MERRY CHRISTMAS!

We had a busy day with two different family get togethers. Ate lots, had fun but so looking forward to a relaxing day at home tomorrow. Trying to decide what workout to do.
 
I was so lazy all of boxing day with no workout. Today I will do something. My sisters and I are taking my mom out for a birthday lunch but that is our only plan for today.
