Morning All

Are you excited Jeanette that all the hoopla is almost over? I know I will be just b/c I want normal t.v. to come back on!

Busy week for me. It's our year-end so lots of stuff to finish processing and reports to do. DH at the lawyers today to discuss this whole access road business at our cottage and to decide whether we just ignore the whole business and get in on the fight:( Donating blood on Wed and have a dermatologist appt Fri along with my chiro so may have to reschedule the chiro. Furniture being delivered on Fri. afternoon so I might be smart just to take the day off - haven't decided yet. Have to get our cat to the vet as she is past due for her shots and want them up-to-date b/4 we bring another cat into the house. Life is just grand these days.:p:p

Jeanette - I'd heard it was like the Spanish Inquisition for adopting cats and I can appreciate why. I know they frown on declawing but I told the truth and said I'd be declawing the front paws, especially since our other cat is declawed too. We put down our other cat last fall and its just taken us this long to feel it was right to get another one. I've been trying to get Abbey to lose weight for the past year with no success and with another cat in the house I might as well just give up now:D I think its exciting that Lance will be back and I hardly following racing. Did I ever mention that I used to do the books for a bicycle store and I thought it strange that they sold videos of the Tour du France but once I started watching it live I could see why - its very exciting. Luv pancakes too. I'm trying to come up with different things to feed DS in the mornings and finding that it doesn't take that long to actually make something cooked so maybe pancakes will be on the menu this week. I really don't know how you find the energy to w/o and then go and do physical labour. Your my new hero.

Okay, got to get to work.

Morning Coolers,

Sorry I was mia on my time off, but I have such a hard time sitting at my computer at home. Must be the fact that I have to sit at one all day long at work! LOL! :D

Todays workout was a 2m run, P90X chest and back halfsies plus Ab Ripper 200.

Patricia, I am very excited about all the hoopla being over with after tomorrow! Or maybe it won't, because we have some crazy people in this country! But at least I won't have to listen to way to many political adds! Hope you DH gets some good news about the access road! I have to reschedule my DD's hair appointment, because we have to go to the X country banquet on the same night. Which I have to make a main dish for! Sloppy Joes here I come! :D

Laurie

Well, we're now the proud owner of a new cat, Morgan, who has been hiding underneath the couch since we got home! Furnace is all repaired now, just in time as it stopped working today.

Completed Leaner Legs + Coremax #3 tonight too.

Spoke to the lawyer and I don't think we really have a strong case for winning and it could get expensive so we're going to remove ourselves from this whole action that we didn't want to be apart of anyway.

Laurie - love Sloppy Joes. I have to agree with you about being on the computer. When you work on one all day sometimes that's the last thing you want to see at home.

Anyhow, off to see if I can encourage Morgan to come out of hiding.:D

Good evening,
No workout for me this morning. I think I forgot to post that yes, I did work out yesterday. I did S&H Biceps, Triceps and abs, thus finishing the October Rotation. Will start the November Rotation tomorrow with GS BB&S. I

Patricia, congrats on the new addition to the family! Hopefully you can coax him out soon and get some pictures. Would love to see him. A little more difficult to transplant a cat than bring home a kitten I've found. What does DS think? I remember having pancakes for dinner some Friday nights when I was a kid. There were 5 kids in our family and we all thought pancakes for dinner, with beans and eggs was A-OK.

Laurie, I'm terrible. I'm on a computer a lot for my job, but I don't seem to mind being on it at home either. What did you do for fun/relaxation on your days off?

Kim, what's up today?

See y'all in the a.m.

Haven't decided whether to go to work or not. Going to wake ds up in a few minutes and see if he's still sick. DH stayed home with him yesterday. He has an ortho appt this afternoon (hopefully with get the half cast off!!) so I have the afternoon booked off anyways, but wondering if I should take the morning off and take him to his pediatrician. He's been sick since Thursday, vomiting, coughing and fever.

Jeanette Good for you for sticking to the October rotation! I got lost halfway through that one. I'm starting the Nov rotation today and even started a checkin for peeps doing that rotation. :D Everyone seem to enjoy the symphony..

Patricia, A new kitten what fun!! Sounds like you made a good decision with the lawsuit! What new furniture are you getting?? We did get swimming on Sunday. DD has swimming lessons on Sat but has been in level 5, 4 times due to her front crawl so I've been taking her to practice/play on Sunday. She loves swimming. I used to be a swim instructor but it's always different teaching your own kids. The pool we go to is very warm, some pools here are warmer than others.

Laurie I think we're all glad to send the end of the political ads! I'm glad you enjoyed your days off!

Kim

Good morning!
Today was the first day of the November Rotation. I did a timesaver premix of GS BBS. Still a burner for me. Of course, I did biceps on Sunday so I think they were still weak from that. Tonite is voting. No bike ride yesterday as it was nasty when I got off work.

Kim, that's too bad that DS is still sick. Poor guy. Hope you can get something to help his discomfort. Bet he'll be happy to get that cast off today!

Patricia, how's the kitty cat? Did he come out from under the chair yet?

Morning Coolers,

No workout yet for me, because I got in line to vote this morning. I was #44.

Oldest DD and I are going to check out a health club at 5pm, because she wants to stay in shape until track season starts. Yesterday I told her that we would be having a tour of the Princeton Club, and all she did was say thank you thank you! LOL! They have an indoor track and a lap pool that she really wants to use. Of course that means that we will need to get a new swim suit for her, she is not wearing a bikini! LOL! :D And the suits she had when she was doing competative swimming do not fit her anymore! I of course have to be a member, because she isn't 18, and will need adult supervision. Oh what a trial for me to HAVE to use all this nice equipment that I don't have at home! :p) So after all of this I will try to get in a plyo workout, I'm thinking of Interval X+.

Patricia, Congratulations on getting your new kitty! I'm sure it will take a little while for your new kitty to get acclimated to the new home. Sorry to hear about the cost of the access road. What a bummer! Good workout! Love Leaner Legs!

Jeanette, Oh I love pancakes for dinner also. We used to have them all the time when I was a kid. And don't laught, but my Mom would fry up a slice of SPAM, and then put the pancake batter over the slice. It was actually very good! LOL! ;)

Kim, Sorry to hear that you DS is not feeling well.

Laurie

Laurie, the health club sounds like fun! It might be a nice change from doing your workouts at home! Would you go to classes or just use the machines? Do you really have to stand in line to vote?? Definitely doesn't happen up here, it would be great if we had that many people out to vote.

Jeanette I just fried my arms with GSBSB as well. That bicep section is a killer! My one shoulder is a little tender from the flu shot yesterday. How was it nasty outside yesterday, cold??

Yup, I cancelled all my patients and stayed home. Going to the pediatrician at 11:45 and the orthopaedic surgeon at 3:45. Kids!!;);)

Kim

Home from the first appt., chest xray done, it's pneumonia, got the antibiotics and he had the first dose. The appt took forever, waited for the dr, he sent us for xray but the xray dept was closed for lunch. :( Poor guy feels awful and he has another appt to go to. I'm going to see how he feels in a hour after a nap, I would hate to cancel the ortho appt but we might have too.

My word Kim, will it never end for you and you're son? I really hope that he recovers as quickly as possible. I guess he'll be off school then too? I can't remember, but did he miss much school in Sept with his leg? I bet you guys will be happy for this year to end. Well, hope you make it to your ortho appt then he can stay at home in bed and just recover. {{{HUGS}} to all of you. Oh, BTW I did see that P90X was in the Wish catalogue. Makes me wish that I waited to buy it. Oh well, thats life. I ordered the Cathe Calandar and with my 20% discount ordered BB Timesaver and Step Pump Blast (??) DVD as I've heard that one is so much fun. Oh the furniture. I've been looking for a long time for a coffee table and matching side table and find one that I absolutely feel in love with. Wasn't certain if I wanted one as we play so much on the floor and it would be in the way, but this one comes on castors so s/b easy to move out of the way.

Laurie - I'm not certain if I could imagine go back to the gym environment but that one sounds very POSH if the name is anything to go by. I was told by a PT one time that running is better on a treadmill as an indoor track you have to be carefull to remember to turn around and run the opposite direction or else you create an inbalance in your body due to running in the same direction all the time, mainly due to the slight slant in most in-door tracks. Just something to keep in mind. You should ask for a free week and then you could get your w/o in tonight there! I'd heard about the line-ups for voting, YIKES. No, don't have that problem here LOL

Jeanette - well got Morgan to venture out a bit last night but she was back in under the couch this a.m. I just made sure she knew where the food and litter box was:p She won't like me too much after I make an appt soon for her annual shot and declawing the front paws. Hope your line up to vote isn't too long. Are you joining the Nov. Rotation check-in?

Okay, got to get back to work b/4 I leave to get to the vet.

Oh, I love Step Blast! I know what you mean about the coffee tables. When the kids were young I just moved them against the wall to give more playing room, the basement one I move to make room for exercise, you do wonder if you really need them.

I think most indoor tracks switch running directions, like clockwise on Monday, Wed, Frid and counter clockwise on Tues/Thurs.

Can you tell that I'm bored today, with all my posting. DS feels better (probably because he threw up, LOL) so I guess we'll leave soon for the next appt. I was trying to comfort him when we got home, and said something about how life has to start getting better and he said "you told me things would get better after I broke my leg and had surgery then my dog died and I got pneumonia." LOL Poor guy, I don't what else to say to him. Well, at least he still has a sense of humour about it all.

Kim

Will try and go into work today. DS seems a little better with the antibiotics. Plan to do GSL after work that one has such a dread factor for me.:confused:

Good morning,
Today was GS Legs, or rather about 40 minutes of it, some weighted work and a bit of floor band work. Tonite will be a bike ride if it's warm enough and not windy (can't stand windy if it's cold) or practice golf shots.

Kim, glad DS is feeling better. Poor guy, pneumonia. Yep, glad he's got the sense of humor. GS Legs has a dread for me, but to get over the dread, I've been mixing and matching within the workout. Or maybe I'm just getting lazier. At least I'm still pushing play.

Patricia, glad you are getting Step Blast! I really enjoy the BB series and music. Cathe is so happy in those. They make me feel good when I do them. How's Morgan doing this morning? I don't think I can join another checkin, 3's enough!!!

Oh yes, the doctor called last night. Got the results of my bone density test. Well, I'm osteopenic so will step up the calcium and vitamin D. You wonder how much weight lifting, step, impact, walking benefits your bones. Sheesh!

Hi Laurie,

Gotta run,

Hello Coolers,

Today my workout was what I should have done yesterday, so Interval X+ is all done. :D

I will be stopping at the health club after work to sign DD and I up for membership. ;) DD and I where very impressed with the facility. I had to laugh when I saw almost everyone on the cardio machines and only men on the weight equipment. That will change once DD and I get on those things. :)

Kim, I was looking at the classes they offer at the club, and I was drawn to the spinning classes. That is something that I could take advantage of. They also have yoga, so might check that out too. Oh yes usually the presidential vote is a stand in line thing. ;) Oh I'm so sorry to hear that your DS is so sick. He has really had quite a year.

Patricia, I'm hoping the gym environment will be ok having my DD there with me. The indoor running track actually had rules on which direction to run in (just like Kim said), so that was interesting. Tu & Th where counterclockwise, and MWF where clockwise. LOL! She plans on running at least 4 days out of the week. She doesn't like TM's because she can't pace herself like she likes to.

Jeanette, Step Blast always gets me confused. I don't think I have finished that one completely yet! But then you are a wiz at picking up those workouts. LOL! :D

Laurie

Okay, finished GSL, thank goodness. My legs were feeling DOMS still from LowMax on Sunday. DS managed to stay at school till noon, then came home and slept all afternoon. He seems much better this evening.

We did go to the ortho appt yesterday and got rid of the brace and crutches:D:D:D:D:D But he's still super restricted in activites; for the next month walking in daily activities only and range of motion exercises for the ankle. In a month he can start a walking/swimming program. No running, sports, skating etc until he sees the surgeon again Jan 20th. Again, the dr. just repeated that it was a very bad break and could refracture again if he is not cautious. At least he can swim when we go on vacation in 5 weeks.

Patricia How's the cat doing??? Ds did miss mon/tues from school. He actually only missed school for dr's appts in Sept/Oct, his fracture/surgery was the week before school started and he went by wheelchair the first 2 weeks of school. It's really just gym class that's he missed out on. He's thinking maybe after January he could do double gym classes and miss math class. LOL Gym class is his favourite class.

Jeanette did you get out for your bike ride? Well, at least you know about the osteopenia so you can start to treat it.

Laurie I bet your dd is excited about the gym membership, will your other dd get to go to??

Kim

Oh Frig, lost my post. I hate this laptop. I swear its all b/c of Vista:mad:

Ok, short & sweet.
Last night PUB and tonight PLB - Up premixes only

Was suppose to donate blood tonight but my iron level was just below what they like to see so they turned me away. So no excuse for not working out tonight eh!

Morgan is getting more comfortable but our other cat Abbey still grows and hisses at her. Here is a pic: www.picturetrail.com/mommapew

Kim - how is DS doing this evening? Well, if both you and Jeanette are scared of GS legs I'm not sure if I want to pull that one out anytime soon. I think I've only done that one once or 2x as I only bought them early this year. This whole 3day split thing has been new to me.

Laurie - I think if I ever join a gym again it might be a women's only one. I still feel intimadated being the only woman using weights and that all eyes are on me.

Jeanette - what do you consider cold. Actually we had a balmy +15c today which is probably mid 70F. I wouldn't mind that all year round. Booked a trip to Florida for mid-Feb to Disney and during Daytona 500. Was suppose to be for my 40th so how the heck did DH's interests get included here? Still shaking my head.

Off to watch the Workout

Patricia, I thinking we were posting at the same time. Good for you trying to give blood, I've been meaning to do that, having gone in ages.

Your trip sounds like fun. I've probably mentioned it before, but I'm a big Disney fan! Been there lots of times and have helped planned many coworkers/friends Disney trips. If there was any money in it I would be travel agent specializing in Disney travel. If you ever have any questions I always love to talk Disney!

There's a new STS clip just posted !!! And we thought GSL was painful.
Kim

Good morning,
Today was about 30 minutes of Christi Taylor's Totally Hot Cardio. Hoping to get in a walk during my afternoon break at work. I also did some abs from Totally Hot Cardio.

Patricia, I loved the picture of Morgan! She looks hefty and I like hefty cats. Cold around here is so relative. This time of year when we're not used to the cold temps yet, anything in the 40's with a wind is cold. By February, 40's will be a welcome temp. I am sore this morning in my legs from GS Legs and I didn't even do the whole thing. I've not been working out hard lately so I guess anything at all shocks them.

Kim, glad DS got his brace/cast off. Does he like to swim? No bike ride yet. Today is supposed to be better, but I'm sure tempted to go to the golf course instead to practice. I have a lesson tomorrow so would like to get a little practice in.

Laurie, I like Step Blast, but remember having to break it down pretty good at first. The one that I haven't conquered yet is Amy Bento's ASCII. I remember doing it at Debra's (after you guys left). Couldn't get past the 2nd combo. Must try again sometime when I have more time. Will you get your workouts in after work if you join the Gym?

Morning Coolers,

Todays workout was 5 miles of speedwork, and I still have to get in SH & Arms plus abs. But I don't think that is going to happen, because of the X country banquet tonight.

Kim, So glad your DS is on the road to recovery. Sounds almost like he is taking baby step, first braces then crutches. Glad he will be able to do swimming, such good exercise.

Patricia, I'm hoping the intimidation factor will me minimal for me. When I get to talk to the personal trainer I think I will talk to him/her about that (thanks for that reminder). If I feel comfortable on the machines, then I will not feel out of place, and if guys want to make comments then they can, I have very thick skin. :D And maybe I can press more weight, and make them feel intimidated. LOL! :D LOL about your trip to Dayton & Disney, I'm am envious. LOL! :D We are saving up our $ for another trip to Disney.

Jeanette, The answer to your question is something that I am still contemplating. I'm thinking that it will be after work, because I will have to take DD to the gym also. She is on the bus by 6:45am, so I might just start going into work early again, and then getting out of work by 3:30 and we could be at the gym by 4:30. I am looking at what I can do for out dinners at night also. When I have the time I was thinking of making some meals ahead of time, so that I can just pop it in the oven when I get home from the gym. It has been so very nice having dinner as a family again, since DH is home in the evenings. :)

Have a great day!

Laurie

Evening Coolers

Just finished Step Heat. Older but goodie but my legs feel like lead after yesterday's w/o. I guess that is a good thing.

Kim - LOL about your love of Disney. We've invited another couple to come with us and she LOVES Disney. I've been there 2-3 times as an adult so I'm looking forward to seeing it through DS's eyes. My parents will also be in Florida for the month of Feb. so I've asked if they want to come visit us for a day while we're down there. I think they will be about 2-3 hr drive away.

Laurie - Joining a gym might well come in handy for STS, especially for the assissted pull-ups (or maybe you can already do those on your own:p):p I would love to have one of the gravitron pull-up machines (I think that's what they're called).

Jeanette - My sister has a Cornish Rex cat and she is so tiny and skinny, one stroke of the hand and she practically falls over. Give me something with some hair and body to it any day of the week.

Off to look for some more videos to buy as my SIL wants to know what she can get me for Xmas. I want some cardio maybe 1/2hr. I think with STS coming out that will be enough strength w/os for a while
