*** Coolers exciting Election Week ***

Hey Patricia, Disney just came out deal today for Jan-June. Stay for 4 nights, get 3 nights free, have a look at www.mousesavers.com

Just finished CardioKicks tried it with 1 lb wrist weights, sure made it harder.

Had our first snowstorm today, and ds decided to walk home after school instead of staying for the afternoon school program. The locks were frozen and he couldn't get in. He was outside for 1 hr in the storm and no one could knew where he was. He finally decided to walk back to the school. He's fine but man, was I mad at him! That kid is going to drive me insane! What was he thinking!!!

Sorry, for the self centered post, I'll catch up tomorrow on my day off.Kim

Morning Coolers,
Today was most of the superset premix from GS Chest & Triceps, then 2 step combos from Amy Bento's Advanced Step Challenge. I then followed it up with some shoulder strengthening exercises for golf, then some wrist curls to help with golf too. I have a lesson tonite. I went to the range last night and my instructor came by and changed my grip, watched me and I hit the ball long and far! Hope I do well tonite. My DS and his GF and their son are coming tonite (I think) and tomorrow, GF, myself, my Mom and some other lady friends will be going on a fun Christmas Shopping trip to a neighboring little town. Should be fun!

Kim, I don't have cardio kicks. I'm not a big kickbox fan, though when I first started working out, I had some Gilad DVD's that were fun to punch with. Maybe I should get those out instead. Glad your DS was okay!!! Wow, door locks were frozen? We've only had that happen with our cars. Must have been quite the blowing storm!

Patricia, what cardio DVD's did you decide on? Have you ever tried Christi Taylor? I love her cuing. That Dance Fit one is supposed to be really fun. I need to get that one. I like that her intensity is lower than Cathe, so I reach for them over and over. Funny about the little cat. Yep, I like beefy too! I have Step Heat, but haven't brought myself to doing it more than once.

Laurie, what did you decide about a schedule for the gym? Would you be going every day? How was the banquet?

Gotta hustle along now.

Morning Coolers,

Well today I decide to do a kb workout, it was Criss Cross Cardio. Good 40 min workout, which after being away from it for a long while I figured I should probably have been doing it more. LOL! :D It was really a good workout and fun.

Patricia, I typed Dayton instead of Daytona! LOL! Daytona sounds a lot more fun that Dayton! LOL  I was thinking that doing STS legs at the gym, because I will have those machines. And no I'm still not able to do an unassited pull-up, so that is another thing that I want to do to!

Kim, What a very scarry experience. I bet that he will not do that again, or at least you can hope that he learned his lesson.

Jeanette, Nope still have not decided on our schedule yet, but I think our first night will be tonight, or tomorrow morning for a swim and run. LOL! I have to talk to my boss on Monday about changing my schedule back to 7am so I can go after work. I think this will be the best option for both of us. DD and I have decided that we will be going 4 weeknights and probably on Saturday mornings. The banquet turned out to be OK for what it was, and there was lots of food! DD received her 2nd cheveron, Most Improved Sophomore, and MVP for Sophomore girls.

Good Friday Morning Coolers

Well, its been a busy day so far this a.m.. I also had to pop out to visit a dermatologist to have a couple moles checked out. Going to have them removed next Feb. just to be on the safe side. I also learned a new word today: subsume. Only lawyers can come up with some of these words I tell you. I'm thinking maybe I should visit Dictionary.com everyday to learn a new word. Might be fun.

Kim - I'll check out that link as our friends might be able to take advantage of any specials for staying there. Wonder if they have day specials? Wow, that must have been a really windy storm to freeze the door locks. Thank goodness for garage door openers!

Jeanette - I decided on Eoin's Pure & Simple Yoga (I have the other 2 already) and on Nia Unplugged. So hopefully I'm pleasantly surprised Xmas Day! I think I have all the Cathe that I want + I didn't want to get something dancey and I was concerned Christy might be too dancey/complicated. I still haven't finished Still Jumpin video:p:p

Laurie - is the KB the one by Patricia Moreno? If so I've only done it 1x. I guess I like the TJ's when it comes to KB. Yea, Dayton is really where I want to be in the middle of Feb. I think they would get the same weather as Ontario:p Congrats to DD for the awards. Is a cheveron like a trophy? All I can thing of is >. Must go look up that word today too!:p

Patricia

I'm still sticking to the Nov rotation, subbed CC#2 on the tm for cycling though, still storming here. Winter sure arrived with a venegance. Also did GSChest/Triceps. DId the groceries, laundry, errands and a dr's appt (for me for a change, just routine stuff) and now I'm tired. Totally looking for to lying on the couch tonight, taped ER last night so will watch it.

Patricia Hopefully you get your Christmas wishes! I order the Cathe calendar and gave DH the 20% coupon with a hint of the weighted gloves.

Laurie congrats to dd on her award!!! Doing STS with all the machines at the gym would be great!

Jeanette Have fun on your shopping trip tomorrow!!

Kim

Hey Kim - do you think the discount works if used by another name? I was thinking of buying the weighted vest so this would be a good oppportunity. Will have to get DH to try it, however, he rarely orders me what I want:(

I'm not sure about the code Patricia I guess he could order using your name??

Going to get ready to do StepHeat soon, then take dd to swimming lessons. The boys (DH and ds) are heading to the football game, not my idea of fun sitting outside in -5 for 3 hrs. Maybe dd and I will go to a movie or something.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Maybe we should start a new thread monday????

Kim

Morning Ladies,

I'm going to be heading to the gym in a little while, just wanted to stop by and chat a little. We will probably be running and swimming today. Need to make an appointment with the PT that left a message on my phone yesterday. Will do that later today.

Snow and rain today, so that means working on cleaning the house today. LOL! Guess I best clean that kitchen floor! :( Why or why do I hate scrubbing the floor so much!

Patricia, The KB workout I did yesterday was Sheri Jacqulyn (I think I spelled that right!) It is a CIA DVD, and she is really very good, can't understand why she has never done another workout. Yes that is what a cheveron looks like. After they letter in Varsity (which DD did her Fresh year), every sport that they make varsity in they receive another cheveron. So last year she got one for track, and then this year X country. So she probably will have seven altogether. I have some moles on the back of my neck that I should bet removed.

Kim, So you are still in that nasty weather pattern. I stopped watchin ER about 2 years ago. It was getting to be a little strange, especially when you only live about 50 miles away from Chicago. LOL! :D

Laurie

Good morning,
Just finished my 45 minute steady state. Did step and then some hi-lo from Christi Taylor's Cardio Collectibles. Will jump in the shower and get ready for the shopping trip. Had a great golf lesson last night. Have another playing lesson scheduled for next Friday. I'm hopeful that my colonoscopy goes well on Tuesday and that there are no ill effects from it.

Kim, -5 degrees is cold just sitting there, no matter if it's F or C. What movie are you going to see? Been so long since we've been out. Think the last one we saw was the newest Indiana Jones. I didn't order the calendar. I hardly looked at it this year so I'm cutting back. I'm actually interested in getting a kettlebell later on. Those are pricey for sure.

Patricia, yes, Christi's stuff is more on the dancey side. I haven't been able to get any of her vertical step workouts yet. Hard to mirror for me. Hope the moles are okay. Good that you are staying on top of them.

Laurie, congrats to your DD on the awards! Sounds like you will be using the gym quite a bit. Good to get your $$ worth out of it. How's work? Been as busy as usual? I'd like to work 7-3 too, but don't think they want that for coverage purposes around here.

Must go shower now, will check back later.

Well got StepHeat done this am along with another hour of snow shovelling/breaking up ice. Chest is sore.

Jeanette Good luck on Tuesday! Do you have the day off for Remembrance Day?? I used the Cathe calendar to write my workouts on. Too dd to see Magdascar II, it was ok, I have to admit that I had a little nap during it. ;)

Laurie I didn't relize that you were so close to Chicago. ER is strange at times. Next week Dr. Greene returns. LOL I'm with you on cleaning the floors, I hate it!

Kim

Evening ALL

Yesterday became a rest day for me but I got in the 1st 1/2 of KPC today along with trying out a new DVD I got this week - Shapes Mari Winsor Pink Pilates (can't remember the exact name - but it came with a pink resistance band and $1 in donated to cancer research). The arm work isn't much but I'm feeling it in my legs/glutes tonight. One thing she days say that you only need to do around 8-10 reps of any one excercise. Kinda of go against all the endless sets and reps we do:):)

Had a pretty lazy day. Returned a booster seat that I bought last weekend. DH at the cottage finishing off the survey we wanted and also bought a ski doo which we p/u next week. We now have 2 so we can go out as a family for some winter fun!:):)

Kim - uggh on the snow and ice so early in the season. A veteran showed me how to the poppy on so that it fall off, especially from the shoulder seat belt. Stick the pin thru the actual red part of the poppy and it really works. How did you like Step Heat. If I remember for the next time I do it, about 1/2 way thru it I might skip to the end as it has a fun funky cool down.

Jeanette - so what did you get while shopping today?

Laurie - hope you're not getting as much snow as Kim. I still watch ER but I don't tape it anymore. Kinda of glad its winding down but looking forward to next weeks episode with Mark.

Haven't decided if I'll w/o tomorrow or not. Starting to get a sore throat:( Wanting to get to a Xmas bazaar with a co-worker too. We will see. Might even fit in going to see Madagascar. I think DS is old enough to watch it? He is just over 3. We will see.

Have a great evening.

Did the 50 min tm run and Ab hits #10 this am so glad tomorrow is a rest day. DS still not feeling very well so just hanging out at home. Going to organzie my pictures I think

Patricia, I'll have to try the poppy trick. Did you go to see the movie?

Hi all,
Had a great time yesterday on the Christmas shopping trip. I didn't buy a whole lot, but did get a few things. The most important part was spending time with my Mom, DS's fiance and my other girlfriends.

This morning was a bike ride, then more wood stacking and then golf. A very nice day. Tomorrow I'll do my workout, then start clear liquids only. I can have coffee, just no milk in it. Then the fun starts in the evening. Yuk.

Patricia, the ski doos sound fun. If our winters were longer, I'm sure they'd be more popular around here. We've had some cold, dry winters lately so makes it more difficult. As much as I like staying active in non-snow type activities, we surely need to have a winter with lots of snow. It's just been too dry the last couple winters. Hope you aren't getting a cold. I hate sore throats, but that's usually the start of a doozie for me.

Kim, we have Tuesday off for Veteran's Day. Is it called Remembrance Day in Canada? Hope DS starts feeling better soon. That snow shoveling is a good workout, only it's a little one sided. I haven't mastered the left handed shoveling. We put a snow plow on one of our 4-wheelers and DH uses it to plow the driveway. When it gets really bad, he can use the tractor bucket. I'd sure like to retire to a place without snow, but don't think that will happen as the whole family is located here, just about.

My rest day is tomorrow, but as Tuesday is my procedure, will just take the rest on that day.

I'm going to start a new thread for this week but will reply to personals quick.

Glad that you had such a nice time shopping it sure is fun to shop with good friends/family. I had to run to Walmart for something and the malls were so busy yesterday! I'm so glad that I'm pretty much done Christmas shopping.

Snowmobiles are so much fun (but dangerous) we don't have one now but have had them in the past.

I don't think I could retire somewhere without winter, I would miss. I just like to leave on a nice vacation every winter.

Yes, it's called Remembrance Day here.

Going to go start the new thread. Kim
