Hi Cathe and everyone
I would just like to share my recent change in exercise routine. I recently suffered a damaged knee which due to my chiropractor will mean I will not be able to step or do lunges for the time being. As an avid Cathe exerciser this left me somewhat depressed about the prospect of no step training for the near future. Especially whilst recovering. Anyhow the past couple of weeks I've been very fed up. Especially as I have just been viewing my new Cathe 4 day split over and over. Only being able to do the upper body sculpting.
Anyway my chiropractor and husband suggested doing my workouts without the step. To be honest the idea of no step just doing the combos on the floor made me think whats the point. I love the original interval max and the older Cathe DVDs as well as the new material. So this afternoon rather than sit about sulking about it, I thought I'd give it a try.
I was able to do IMAX very successfully without using the step. Fair enough I probably didn't get my heart rate up to how high it usually gets but I was still participating. Which is the main thing. My knee was fine and I worked up a sweat. Part way through Cathe says 'it doesn't matter where you're at, you're here and thats all that matters.'
That made me view the whole injury issue in a new light. Rather than looking at my situation as a negative. I should see it as an oppurtunity to do things a little differently and also safely for myself.
Now I will continue to exercise at a reasonable pace doing the thing I love to do most my Cathe workouts.
Sorry about the long post but I just wanted to emphasise that we can all modify Cathes workouts for our own personal levels.
Thanks again Cathe for all you do and keep up the excellent work.
