Has anyone had a headache that has lasted two weeks or more? mine has lasted two weeks and only goes away with 800 mg of ibuprofen and then when that wears off it comes right back. I tried the chiropractor think I am going to try it again Monday. the last time I did that I ended up with a major sore throat that only went away with antibiotics, I know that is just coincendence LOL.

Hi Leslie,

Please be careful with the Ibuprofen. My friends daughter in-law just died at the age of 27 of an unexplained illness, and they are not ruling out as a contributing factor the fact that she had been taking about 10 ibuprofen a day the week before her period. They think that may have contributed to kidney damage, although they are not positive.
I know this sounds like an internet myth, and I wasn't going to post it, but I think you posted this question somewhere else (I feel like I've read it before), and I resisted posting then. Now that I know you are still taking that much ibupofen, I had to post...

Have you recently changed any medications? I had a dull throbbing pain behind my eyes when I switched birth control pills... It lasted about a week and ended with a migraine.

Have you gone to a doctor?? (Other than a chiropractor)

I only take one or two a day. somedays I will just take the pain before I take any pain medication, It kind of gets my doc mad when I say I just deal with alot of the pain I have. My friend had a kidney transplant and she is not allowed to take Ibuprofen becuase it does damage the kidney so I am carefull with it. I have not changed any meds so I don't know what is going on, the trigger point seems to be at the base in the back of my skull. I am just dealing with it the best I can hoping one day it will go permanently.

Hi,
I had the same problem! The doctor put me on Claritin D to no avail. I finally took a sinus med and it went away. I never had sinus problems before. Hope this helps!

Leslie,

I don't know the nature of your headache, but I had chronic headaches and neckaches a couple of years ago -- also tried the chiropractor route, which would usually work. It turned out to be a problem with a nerve in one of my teeth. I ended up getting a root canal and the headaches immediately went away. Something to think about...

My headaches went on for about four months before I found out the actual problem. I was never so happy to see a dentist drill.

Hope you feel better soon.
