concrete floor

Cathlete
hi,
I have a question, starting next month i will be using our sunroom as my exercise room. the problem is, the room has a concrete(cement)? floor and a light carpet on top of it. I have used it before, it was hijacked by brother to do my exercise. i am concerned since i will be doing a lot of cathe's tapes, i may be damaging my knee's and ankles. what do you guys think i should use?. i will be getting married in August so i need to kick my exercise up a notch.
hope this makes sense
thank you.

to clarify
I am looking for something that i can use on top of the floor to avoid all the pounding since i will be jumping up and down alot.

I would definitely at least add some puzzle mats on top of the carpet. Thin carpet over concrete (or even thick carpet over concrete) isn't enough to reduce the impact of working on a non-giving surface. You can get puzzle mats at Home Depot or Walmart.

hi, Paula
good shoes are a must since i almost lost my middle toe nail, because the shoes i had were too tight.
thanks for the reminder

I agree about the puzzle mats. I have tile over concrete and bad feet and I couldn't workout with out my much loved and well used mats.

I would consider getting two layers of the puzzle mats. I have tile over concrete also, and one layer just wasn't enough. Of course, that depends on how cushiony your carpet is.... that may make a difference.

I got mine from greatmats.com and they have some that are thicker. They were a bit more expensive than the ones that can be purchased at Costco or Walmart but well worth it and I have expanded them to cover quite a large area.
