Concert question...

HI Shelley! Don't really have a good input on this as I'm not a parent but wanted to say hey & give my two cents... I guess to me it would depend on what concert & who Sophie would be going with to the concert... :) If it was a group you approved of & trusted the people she would be with I say let her have fun, you only get to be a kid without the stress of life for a short time...but again I am not a parent so take it with a grain of salt... um, did someone say salt, now I'm craving popcorn... :p

I went to my first show at ten. It was the Allman Bros. I won't tell you how many years later I am going to see them again, in August.

Hilary Duff is coming here in July and I'd like to take her. What do y'all think? It's either that or Tool, and I can't really afford the therapy she'd need if I took her to that:p

I think taking Sophie to see Hilary Duff would be a blast for her & you shouldn't need took much therapy for yourself after that... just remember it's for Sophie! :)

I took a group of three 6 and 7 year olds to the High School Musical concert during the winter. It was completely awesome and I was so glad that I was there for DD's first concert. I would do it again in a heartbeat!! There were parents with children of all ages everywhere.

This was a Disney production. Is Hilary Duff also affiliated with Disney?

My first concert was Bob Seger when I was 10 on the lawn of an outdoor theater. I will never forget it as a wonderful time!!

My vote is to defintely go!!!

I really like Hillary Duff as a role model. I think you both will have fun!

(psssst Shelly, if you want to make the evening even better.............just download some Nickleback on your Ipod.)

Hiliary is very big with the preteens. My DD's are 7 and 9 and all their friends love her. Go ahead, she'll have a great time. Girls are so cute at that age!

OMG...What has Sophie done to deserve this:+ :p Thousands of screaming girls to see a bobble head that can almost sing? You are a much better Mom than I will EVER be....:7
Seriously, if she is a fan and you take her...Sophie will cherish the memory of it for the rest of her life!

You sure you don't want to hold out until those Avril tickets are available??}( :+

Take Care

Thanks for the input everyone! Tickets go on sale on Friday. Hopefully I can snag some.

Tool tickets go on sale on Saturday. Last time they were through, they sold out in two minutes. I don't hold out much hope, but maybe if y'all cross your fingers for me...:p

Are they through Ticketmaster? I have some experience with this. Just be ready on the page to request tickets and then just keep hitting the refresh button a minute or so before the tickets actually go on sale and you should be okay the second they do go on sale.

You also will want to open an account with the ticket seller beforehand to save time during the actual transaction.

I don't think she's too young. She'll love it. But I wonder how you're gonna like it. }(

FYI - my best friend is taking her 11-year DD old to see Tool in June. Think she should take YOU instead. :)

I agree take her. I think H. Duff is so cute and right now she seems to be a good role model.
My first concert was ahem, cough , cough, Air Supply. I think I was about 10.

Dana - are you serious? Has she ever seen Tool live before? Because a lot of their visuals are incredibly disturbing. If she hasn't experienced that before, please warn her. Sophie likes Tool ("you can really FEEL their music in your tummy, mom"), but I wouldn't take her to see them because of some of the stuff in their show.

Jenn, my first concert was Bob Seger, too!

Yeah, I would take her to see H. Duff. Just make her wear ear plugs and oh yeah, you cannot make fun of the show at any time.:p

I definitely wouldn't take her to see Tool - because - you wouldn't want to miss any of the show for a bathroom trip or anything }( . Good luck getting tickets , I know they are a favorite of yours!

I took my then 3 y/o dd to see Switchfoot (also my 15 ds and 13 y/o dd and dh - yep a whole family affair and I made them all wear earplugs. my ds was so embarrassed;) ) She wanted to go see the Red Hot Chili Peppers with me but I thought no way I'm not missing any of this show. We traveled about 300mi to Tampa. My now 16 ds came with me , but I was sure hoping they wouldn't play Sir Psycho Sexy while I was standing next to him!

We are all going to see Switchfoot again this summer YEAH!
