Compliments are always so nice...

So I was dropping my daughter off at preschool this morning and I had to sign her in and make sure someone in the room saw that she was there. I am usually greeted by the same woman and she always makes sure she sees my daughter. Well, this morning, she says:

"I just have to ask...are you like a personal trainer or a body builder or something. You always come in here looking so buff and you are in such great shape, I figure you have to be a PT or something".

Now, mind you I live in the East and this a.m. was cooold!!Brrrrrr and it hasn't been "shorts weather" for some time so for her to make such a statement when almost everytime she has seen me I am in sweats and long sleeves.

I went home and ran extra hard!!!;) I always do better with positive energy!!

Tell me about compliments you have received!!

I ran into a group of people I knew from high school at our neighborhood pool this summer and they knew I had DD. They could not believe that I had two more and said I looked exactly like I did in high school, which made my week!

When I still worked out at the gym, a PT there called me her hero because I had two kids (at the time) and was still able to maintain physical strength/stamina and kick most of the male trainers butts when we did spin or ran together. :7 :7 :7 :7 :7 That made my whole month!

ETA I just remembered one more! At the same gym, a male PT told me that he has never seen anyone, male or female, warm up with 30 pushups consecutively let alone use such great form. Thank you for starting this, Sarah!

Just the other day my husband and I went to the hospital to visit my SIL. I had on a long-sleeved T-shirt and some shorts...as we were walking to her room a nurse walked by and said you must run or workout or something because your legs look awesome....that made my night!!

One other time I had dropped off some shoes at the shoe shop to have them shined. The guy behind the counter told me to come back in an hour or so. When I went back he told the guy...that's the one with the legs!! Hmmmm....all I could do was grin.

Well, mine wasn't all about how buff I am. BUT, the other week DH and I were out (rare occasion) at a bar and he was talking to the DJ that was a friend of his. Well I came up along side DH to talk to him about something and this friend of his stopped in mid sentance and exclaimed,"WOW, you have got to be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen!" Then DH explained that I was his wife and the guy went on to tell him how lucky he was. That really felt good to hear that from a complete stranger. I obvioulsy don't know the guy,but DH does.

Marietta and Sarah - You both are beautiful and in great shape - I would think you would get compliments all the time!! :)

A few weeks ago I was hearing lots of noises/voices from my garage - so I took a peek - and my son was in there with a bunch of guys and girls - which stopped me mid scolding for the noise, hehe... When I was closing the door back - the 8th grade girls were telling Max how pretty his mom was. :)

Then a week later my youngest told me that everyone in his class thinks I am really pretty. Although he said is with almost a shocked tone to his voice... ;) hehe...

Thanks Missy, Denise, and Anne...you guys are making me blush!! I'm sure you guys are used to the compliments as well....

Kathy - The compliment from your DH's friend is great...it says a lot!!

Anne - That was so cool to have your DS's friends say that about you...when kids give compliments take them to heart...they are sincere.

Take care ladies!!

They are great and I am still smiling about mine from a couple of weeks ago when I turned 49. I am a high school teacher and when the students found out how old I am (thanks to my DD and friends, they said, "Oh, I thought you were 30) even kids not in my classes, i.e NOT looking for brownie points:) However, I remind myself that to high schoolers, 25 is old!!!!
