Morning girls,

Yesterdays Lower body workout was awesome. I did it at the gym.. Started with a 10 minute power walk to warm my muscles then went machine jumping for about 50 mins, I was pouring sweat by the end. Then I asked the gym owner about the tanning bed and he offered a free 10 minute lay and I wished I had passed it up because now I look like a lightly red tomato :confused: I don't think I will be laying in the tanning bed anymore:eek:

Today is suppose to a rest day but will have to wait and see how I feel after work.

Belinda-I hope the doctor can figure out the reason for your fatigue. I was tired all day yesterday but I thinks its because I took my melatonin too late the night before.

Kristin-did you get some alone time yesterday? sigh, I know what you mean on days like that. Nice job on your workout

Deb-Sounds like you had fun at the beach yesterday! Glad the weather was pretty for you. Its suppose to hit 92 today here, all I can say is thank goodness for AC:eek:

Melissa-LOL, I was a slug all day tuesday. DH and I were suppose to clean out our bedroom closet but never did:rolleyes: Yay on your workout room, thats so cool!!

Cookie-How is your day going?

Debbie - maybe it was all that crappy food I ate in Italy/Germany:eek: I been taking my Iron pills, see if that helps:eek: Glad you had fun at the beach.

Hi ladies! Today I'm planning on doing some abs and To the Max, maybe a premix. I have a date tonight and I kinda don't want to go lol. I met him through my roommate last night; he seems very nice but because I'm an idiot I'm hung up on some other guy I've been talking to. We went on one date and it was so much fun; he's been calling and texting since then but no word of a second date which is why I think I should give up. UGH did I mention I hate dating?!

Deb, your beach day sounds amazing! Glad you guys had a good time. Hahahaha I know what you mean; I went to Wildwood a couple years ago and it really did seem like the Jersey Shore sometimes! Beaches here are like that too though...so many muscle heads.

Amelia, :eek: at the tanning bed burn! Your leg workout sounds awesome!

Belinda, nice job on the workout as always :). I need to try turbo fire sometime. Are you feeling better today?

Hello all. I am actually happy to have a rainy day. I had a laundry to do and I was really dreaming about spaghetti and meatballs. This is the perfect weather for it. My workout today was a long one. I did AT, express premix and then STS D8 back and triceps. My whole upper body is fried. I have DOMs in my shoulders still and my triceps and back will definitely be getting some. My arms are so pumped right now. I need new weighted gloves, mine broke. I went on the Cathe website but they don't sell them anymore. Do you think the one to two pounds makes that much of a difference? Should I search for gloves?

Belinda- I notice when I eat a lot of "bad" food over a period of time I do get energy -zapped, especially bad carbs (but I love them so). You're probably right about that. Good job on your workout today.

Melissa- you're too funny about not wanting to go on your date. I say just go and have a good time. Whatever is meant to be will be. I go to a beach near Rocky Point. .. Cedar Beach. It is in Mount Sinai. Is that the one you live by?

Amelia- I did not get time alone yesterday. Younger DS cried that he wanted to come with me, so I caved. My older DS stayed at my parents' house though, so I got a semi-break.

Deb- I cracked up about your Jersey Shore comment. There are a lot of beaches here where the clientele has gotten very shady. That is why I am happy I found Cedar Beach. Very quiet and family-oriented.

Cookie- I am saddened by the fact that is August! The summer is going way too fast! I have been looking at the module we are being forced to implement this year by administration. It is module 2 for seventh grade. . . the Chavez speech is ridiculously long and boring. . . not sure how I will "sell it" to my students, poor dears.

Off to make the meatballs!

Kirstin - maybe that's what's wrong with me:confused: I did eat like crap:eek: Lot's of pizza....every day:p I cut my carbs a few day's ago, feeling a little better. I saw those cloves on Groupon the other day. I use regular ankle weights.

Melissa - I agree, with Kirstin;) You got nothing to lose, right? I love Turbo Fire! They are so much fun.
 
Quick check in to log my workout: wound up doing XT Burn Sets Bi's & Tri's and abs instead of TTM. There's something about doing 2 days of cardio in a row that I'm just not a fan of.

I took a spin class & did a quick leg workout at the gym. I crashed my computer because I wasn't patient. I thought I had a back-up but of course that didn't work. Now I need to reload a bunch of stuff & pictures I had stored on the computer, ugh!!!

Belinda - Funny I was looking for old threads than realized it is August, thanks for getting us started:) I was so tired today, not sure what it was about. I'm happy your feeling better.

Kristin - I made meatballs for dinner too, need to make meatballs for my big sauce this weekend so I don't want to see one for a long time:) I don't grab for the weighted gloves very often, but maybe you can find at Walmart or Target or Marshalls.

Amelia - I'm sure you look like a cute tomato. This may sound like a dumb question but how would you even avoid a burn, would you use sunscreen?

Melissa - I hope you go on the date & agree with everyone that you have nothing to lose. If given the choice I would pick weights over cardio.

Cookie - Did you ever switch position/jobs?

Morning girls,

Yesterday was a rest day and on tabs today is a circuit. I plan on going to the gym this afternoon for it...or I may do one of Cathe's circuits. I will have to see how I feel after work. I might need to get away from all the commotion around here.:eek:

So yesterday was a good day with my food. I'm very proud of myself this morning. Now its day #2...how long does it take to establish a habit again?:p

I can't believe the summer is over for the kids. My 6th grader had open house yesterday and she is so excited about middle school. My 3rd grader has his open house this up coming tuesday and he could care less, all he cares about right now is video games :rolleyes:. They start back on the 8th.:(

Deb-:( on the computer crashing. Sounds frustrating. Nice job on your workout. And yep, I wish I had asked for a sample sunscreen the other day. My back is still tender and my stomach...ugh. I only laid for like 10 minutes. :confused:

Mel-Nice job on your workout, ^^5's. Speaking of back to back cardio - I met with a personal trainer about a month ago and she suggested that I do an hour of cardio/4 days a week. My heart just sank when she said that. ( Not a cardio fan) :eek: Im doing a FF rotation right now.

Kristin-Nice burn yesterday, great job girl! Sorry to hear you gloves broke, bummer. When do your kids start back to school?

Ugh I just wrote an entire post and I have no clue what happened to it :mad::rolleyes:

Today is gonna be a rest day for me. I was thinking I might do some stretching or light cardio, not sure yet. I have some serious ab DOMS from yesterday's workout; I wound up doing ab circuits med ball abs and the core only premix from the original bootcamp. Then I have work at 4.

The date last night was fun. He cooked us dinner and is very nice, but I don't see this going anywhere. He is way too young: 25 to be exact (apparently he thought I was 25 too and I had to laugh lol). I don't think of asking people their ages and not that age means everything but sometimes it plays a role, if that makes sense? I'm down for hanging out again but only as friends.

Kristin, I think the 1-2lbs makes a difference for small muscle groups, especially when you can handle heavier weight but can't do a huge jump. I do like Belinda does and strap the ankle weights around my wrists instead of the weighted gloves so maybe you can try that? Oh yeah Cedar Beach is 10 min from me; I like that beach a lot! I don't know if the Sound Beach one that we use has a name, it might just be private.

Belinda, have a great workout! Mmmm endless pizza, that sounds like heaven to me :eek:

Deb, I'm sorry to hear about your computer. How frustrating! Hopefully you can restore your stuff.

Amelia, wow your kids go back early. I can't believe it's August already. Ugh an hour of cardio 4 days a week sounds like torture to me! I remember when I used to love cardio and now I can't stand it lol. Which FF rotation are you doing? I love her stuff!

Yoga Max express premix done! I like yoga but it can't hold my interest for over a half hour. I should do it more often though :confused:
 
Athletic Training done today. Whew, that first 30 mins is killer:confused:. Im one pooped pink tomato;)

Mel-Great job with yoga max. I too love yoga but can't do more than 30mins without watching the clock.

will bb in the am with more personals guys. Gotta go hop in the shower then drop of my niece at my sisters then grocery shopping....:confused::confused:

Just finished the last of my computer work & I'm so tired. I took a yoga class today & she gave us a list of other places she teaches . . . decisions, decisions. You guys would love her class rarely look at the clock because most of her class is power/strength/cardio yoga.

I'll be back tomorrow morning for personals.

Hi everyone. Sorry for not posting yesterday. It was a very busy day. First, I decided to go to the beach with my friend and our kids. We were there from 11 in the morning until 3. It was a great time. The boys played well together the whole time. It wasn't too humid or hot, but hot enough to go in the water to cool off and enjoy. A lot of boats passed by too, and I love to look at boats. Watching the boats reminds me of all the times we used to go on my dad's boat when I was a kid. Anyway, when I got home I did my workout. I did STS M1 D9, legs. I was supposed to do legs today, but it is DS's birthday party today and I figured I would not have time to workout and then I'd be behind. So I skipped the cardio and did STS. Today will more than likely be a rest day. We are having DS's party at my friend's gym. She is my friend from work, the personal trainer. She opened a gym in the spring. It is a kind of sports training gym. They have programs for lacrosse and other sports for kids and then classes for adults as well, such as the one I went to on Monday and kickboxing, boxing, yoga, etc. Anyway. . . it should be a lot of fun today. They are going to play different games including dodgeball. I am glad it is indoors because it looks like rain. After the party we are having a few kids come back to the house and we will have a small BBQ. Like I said, today is going to be a rest day, lol. After doing my workout, we had to quickly have dinner and then off to DS's baseball game, where I got bit up! I hate these damn bugs. It always happens when I DON'T bring the bugspray. If I had the spray, the buggers would have never been out, lol. Anyway, it was a long but fun day yesterday.

My sister is coming to the party. I just hope there won't be any drama this time. :rolleyes:

Deb- good job with the yoga. Do you think you will follow the instructor to another gym? You seem to really enjoy her style of teaching.

Melissa- Nice job with the yoga today. I thought about the ankle weights after my last post. I used them yesterday around my wrists, not bad. I definitely need to get a set of 30# DB for meso 2. 25# for the squats with the added ankle weights did not give me much of a burn, although I still have some DOMs settling in today. I love Cedar Beach just because the kids can swim in the water without me having to go in with them, there are no big ocean waves and the lifeguard is always on duty. I can pick a spot right at the edge where the sand meets the water, watch and relax. It is great. My friend and I were even able to read some gossip magazines yesterday, lol. BTW- I love how you attract the "younger" men ;)

Belinda- endless pizza would be my downfall too, lol. I think of pizza often, lol. Glad you are starting to feel better. Nice job on STS legs. I am thinking after STS whether I do the 3 month or pyramid rotation, I will do Xtrain and then go back to STS, but redo my 1 RM tests before I restart STS. I am loving STS again. I forgot how effective it is. I am already seeing a difference in my body. I see more definition everywhere and yesterday TOTM came, and I still look like I lost some inches in my waist, even while being bloated, lol.

Amelia- in NY most districts have teachers go back to work the Thursday before Labor Day. For the kids, most schools will have the first day be the day after Labor Day, which I think is dumb. . . we have a Jewsih holiday that week, so the kids will come in Tuesday and Wednesday and then be off for Thursday and Friday. We should have all just started on the Monday after. Having two days on and then a four day weekend kills the momentum from the very beginning. :rolleyes:

Hello girls! Just finished STS Total Body. My muscles are already feeling it! Im thinking of jumping on the STS band wagon a week early and starting the program Monday: Kristin, youre amping me up to do it, love it!! I have work today again at 4 :( kinda just want to lay around the house all day in pjs because it's so dreary outside. Almost got brave last night when the MIA boy called and I wanted to ask what his deal is and when are we going out again, but I lost my nerve :confused: Instead,my roommie and I drank some champagne and went swimming at the beach at 3AM lol. It was crazy but soooo much fun!

Amelia, yeah Athletic Training is a killer! I love it though. My friend is getting Jillian michael's 30 min yoga; she said it looked good. I'm not a huge JM fan but I might borrow it and see what it's like. I'll keep ya posted.

Deb, that is the type of yoga I would probably like! Do you know if there are any DVDs out there that are similar to her style of teaching?

Kristin,I love boat watching too for the same reason! Sounds like you had a long but awesome day yesterday. Have fun at your DS's party, that sounds awesome! And good luck with the sis, don't let her negative attitude ruin your day. LMAO I probably attract younger men cuz I act like a 12 year old hahah!:eek:

Today I cleaned & started cooking for tomorrow, so just decided to do extra bi's from last week & start M2 W3 tomorrow. The weather was rainy but turned out really nice, hoping to find someplace to eat outside tonight.

Belinda - Are you still feeling ok? I'll have to keep my eye open for JM's workout.

Kristin - Have fun at DS's party, sounds like fun. I think this was a great beach week not too hot & humid. It's great when you can get a chance to relax with friends:) I will follow the yoga instructor she also teaches in studios but that is expensive if you only take 1 or 2 classes a week because you pay by the month.

Melissa - Sometimes younger guys are more matrue so maybe age doesn't matter. In the meantime it sounds like you are having fun. Too funny about swimming early in the morning the beauty of living close to the beach;)

Amelia - AT is a good one! Will you turn tan? My DH really doesn't either.

Cookie - I'm wondering if your on your beach vacation now.

Melissa - I don't own any Power Yoga dvds but have some from Amazon on my wish list with good reviews. I plan to ask the instructor so will get back to you on that.

I did a Bootcamp style "Total Body Tabata" = 20 min. That was an awesome workout! Loved it!

Melissa - yoga today.com offers free yoga sessions online! You also can find them on youtube;) I don't use any yoga dads, I use mostly the free ones online.

Debbie - if you cook for the whole week, do you freeze your food? I just made Ziti:D My son loves it! I heard Dicks Sporting Goods sells JM Body Revolution around $50! You also can find most of her workouts on youtube for free;)

Time to relax with a nice glass of wine:eek: In two weeks DH and I will go to Virginia Beach. We picked up the RV today, DH was cleaning it:D
