Good morning,

Sorry, for not checking in yesterday! Yesterday DH and I left for a meeting/ceremony very early in the morning; we didn’t get home until after midnight. We flew in a helicopter, which was very coool. Last night/morning I was too excused to check in.

I haven’t worked out since Tuesday. I did do Stretch Max on Wednesday. My lower back/ hip are still hurting. Not sure what I did? I can hardly move. If the pain doesn’t stop by today, I will go see a doctor. I am afraid to lift heavy right now; hopefully I can catch up with disc 17 and 18 tomorrow. I am praying! I don’t wanna stop right in the middle of STS; I am hoping to make it through this time.

Great job on your workouts ladies, I will be back later with personals.
 
{{{{Belinda}}}} so sorry your dealing with the hip pain right now..injuries are so frustrating. I hope the pain eases up for you so you don't have to go to the doctor. I also hope its nothing series. I wouldn't start all over agian with STS...just do what im doing,im starting this week over agian on monday:D this week *whispers* never happened;)

Today is going to be my missed wednesday workout, Arms & Shoulders(might do one round-30mins) and abb ripper, then DH and I plan on going for another hike...without the kids;) AND im bringing my HRM:D Willl bbl with the results.

I pulled out my favorite jeans yesterday and there still loose...so thats good. Funny how i have a couple of days of bad eating and i think ive gained like ten lbs or something:rolleyes:

Good Morning!

Back to work for me today:rolleyes: I don't mind that much...gets me out of the house and away from all the craziness;) I am going to take my time and go in there. Im hoping to get a workout in first...and I am going to start soon. I should have set my alarm for 6:30 and started my workout about 20 mins ago:confused: I am going to do GS S,B& and maybe some light cardio. I think if I run it will really set my knee off. I have thought about doing a marathon but Im not sure my knees would allow it. Anything pass 18 kms and I start getting funny knees!

Belinda** We went on a helicopter ride last Sat. My BIL is a pilot with serach and rescue. They had a family day and were giving helicopter rides. It was very nice. I missed flying over our house though....looking out the wrong window at the wrong time.

Ameila** Enjoy your hike with DH today! Don't take any detours!;) Your teenagers now you know!

Cookie** Wouldn't it be nice if we could always spend our paychecks on ourselves??? Thats the way life should be. The men should pay the bills....while we buy things for ourselves!

Belinda, sorry your hip is bothering you. Isn't it strange how if we don't wo for a day or two, it really seems like a huge thing when others in life don't exercise for months or years. Don't be so hard on yourself. Perhaps stretch max might be an idea. Bet the copter ride was fun.
Lori, what's up with your knees? Don't remember that you had a problem with them. Sometimes it seems easier to swap the problems at home for those at work, doesn't it? Even tho both drive me crazy at tiimes.
Amelia, last night by the time I got around to starting the book, I only made it three pages in before getting tired. Am taking it with me this weekend, so I should be able to read it, along with a book for work(!) The hike sounds wonderful. It's a beautiful day here - my DH said it was perfect for a run. Actually he wasn't going to wo, but once he realized I was going to, Mr. Competitive went. People always think he is so easy going, and he is, but he hates it if I've wo and "gotten a few days ahead." Unfortunately, he too intimidated to try Cathe. Keeps saying he's going to start sts. Oh, wait, I think his new start date is Monday - I'll have to remind him. Doubt he will. Chicken.
Deb, I still haven't taken that Zumba class. A colleague has invited me a couple of times, but never could get there at the time. Whatever happened to the video they used to have? Have fun celebrating your birthday tonight.
Trish, are you having a hectic week with work, and the girls going back to school?
Iris, what did you decide on a room, inclusive or not, ... Are you betting or or against Rachel Alexander?
Helene, did you go see Cirque? Saw it mentioned in the TU and thought of you. I saw them a few times, and very amazed by their performances.
Did PUB and am debating trying to squeeze in a short cardio before leaving for the weekend. Take care,

Hi Ladies

My pain got so bad today that my DH made me go to a doctor. The orthopedist did some checks and determined I may have a herniated disk. So she sent me for an x-ray. The x-ray revealed the disk was bad L3 and 4. The herniation is pressing on a nerve. The doctor gave me a shot directly into the area and prescribed muscle relaxers and Ibuprofen for inflammation.

My DH is staying here from his travels to take care of me. The doctor contacted the hospital in case my back gets worse. She suspects it will get better, in any case I am receiving an MRI on Monday and she has directed that I do not exercise before next Friday. That makes me frustrated.

The doctor did say that most adults have herniated disks to some degree, most do not hit a nerve causing problems. We are praying that I do not need surgery (pray with us). Again, the doctor said it is unlikely, but she wants to be careful.
I have no luck with STS:mad::(

Belinda: I am so sorry to hear that you are in so much pain. I will keep you in my thoughts and hope for quick relief and quick recovery. I have had issues with my back since I was a teenager and I know how frustrated (and painful) it can be. I have learned through the years what to do and not do, but I still can't avoid a few problems here and there. I know that for me, deadlifts are one of the worst exercises. Please keep us posted on your progress and I will keep sending healing vibes your way. I assume you must rest a lot so be sure to do it, no matter how frustrating it is. I have read many posts (some by Cathe I think) that mention muscles have great memory. Geez, so sorry to hear you are still in pain to that extent!

Lori: Ooooh, helicopter rides. I'm always wanted to go on one. Enjoy your day at work. Work isn't always fun, but there are days when I cherish being away from the kids. It allows me to recharge some part of me mentally. Glad you made it through the last two days! I can't wait 'til you get insanity. When do you think you will start doing the workouts? Please don't do too much enabling. :eek: My DH you know......

Amelia: I had to laugh at how you describe we can think a couple bad days would make us feel like we've gained ten pounds. I know I'm a big scale addict too. It keeps me honest I think. Anyways, thanks for the info about the scale. I was surprised that you can have more pasta (I love pasta), so guess what: I'm going to start weighing mine :p. I made your pulled chicken recipe by the way. Yummy, thanks for sharing and enjoy your hike!

Yesterday, I pulled out an old Taebo :eek:. As usual, not Cathe quality, and not great cuing, but hey in 40 minutes I burned 370 cals. Did STS Disc 9 for the second time this morn. Man I was wiped.
 
Belinda - Sending you lots of positve vibes, thoughts and prays:). This has been a rough year for you. You deserve a break from this. Take the rest you need your workouts will be there when you heal.
 
Hi girls,

I caught an unflattering view of myself in the mirror at Zumba class and couldn't get past it:mad: As if I could have changed anything right there:rolleyes: Maybe it will stop me from doing too much damage at dinner tonight.

I had to pick my younger son up at college today and ran into both son's GF's. I was so :eek: being at the college but my son said there is a woman older than Grandma in his class . . . Cool!

Belinda - The helicopter ride sounds like fun but scary!

Lori - So you can relax today LOL . . . now I know the real reason you have been increasing your runs:D

Cookie - I didn't realize the wedding was out of town. You'll have to fill us in on all the details. Too funny about DH.

Hey Gals!

Im sooo lazy right now and my hunger is kinda out of control! Probably as something to do with yesterdays run no doubt. I thought I was gonna eat like a pig last night b/c of the run but I ate a full burger for my dinner ( i normally can't eat that much) and I wasn't hungry for the rest of the night. But today it is catching up with me. I always wonder how people who run or workout lots look skinny, the more I workout the more I eat. Prehaps they don't eat more:confused:

Belinda** Oh man that bites big time! I can't beleive you have another bump in the rd as far as STS goes. Hopefully next week you can resume. Just listen to Dr's orders and relax!!!

Deb** Whats Zumba class? Sounds interesting. I think we all have those days where we don't want to beleive what we see in the mirror.

Helene** Im not gonna start the Insanity rotation until I am done my training for my next race. Our local tv station is airing a 30 mins show on last yrs run this Sunday. I can't wait to watch it!

Cookie** I don't really have any trouble with my knees but when I run a long distances my knees feel "funny" They don't hurt just feel weak.

Belinda...Im praying for you! You will be back and kicking butt in no time girl. If the doctor says its unlikely that you will need surgery...then thats what i would go by, im sending positive vibes and hugs in your direction.

Cookie-What other books are you reading? Im so frustrated with my library..there so slow on getting in new material, i may have to go and purchase a few books that they don't have...ugh

Helened-Isn't that pulled pork recipe fabulous? I got it from my calorie logging website...think i will make it this week. Great job on your Tabeo workout...and STS this morning...your on a roll girl!

ok...so,just got back from my 7mile hike and i brought my HRM along. My calculations were almost right. 7miles/2hrs & 43mins = 1,123 cals burned. It was fun...DH and I were tired afterwards though:confused:. Needless to say..i won't be doing any weights today. Maybe tomorrow. Im not going to stress over the p90x workouts that ive missed...im working out still, so who cares:rolleyes:

Lori-LOL...i wonder how in the world those biggest loser contestants workout so long and eat the little amount of cals there restricted too...i wouldn't last. I would be stealing others food;) OH...new season starts the 15th,yay!

Amelia, I think seeing a dietician is a great idea! We all struggle with this issue, trust me! What movie did you watch yesterday? Yeah, on the loose jeans. WOW, on your cal. burn today. That’s fantastic! I do like to watching the biggest loser, we only a few season behind.

Cookie, glad you enjoyed your sisters b-day with cake and pizza! That’s a lot of money you spent on your hair. I bet it looks good! Awesome job on PUB today.

Lori, wtg on your run yesterday. I forgot your BIL is a pilot. It was my fist time flying in a helicopter. I flew in Black Hawk, very cool! I will post a picture! I can’t believe I have another pump in the road. I will relax and listen to the doctor, lol!

Helene, nice job with Taebo yesterday, I still have all mine. LOL! I still will take walks no weights. I can’t just sit on my butt all day long. Thanks!
