I pre ordered my FitBit in August or September and received it in January. I'm not sure how long they are taking now that it is no longer a preorder. I'm not sure what to say about the fitbit. for the most part I really like it..... with some qualifiers. I also have a Go Wear Fit so I have compared the two
Pros of Fitbit- inconspicuous, free web site, it does what I need it to do. I love the sleep feature, like the steps taken and calorie burn feature. Customer service was very responsive to me when I had a minor issue. I haven't used the food logging very much. It is not as comprehensive as I would like, but you can add and save your own foods.
Cons- I honestly don't have any cons, just the fact that when compared to the GWF the numbers are different.
I did an experiment when I first received my Fitbit and wore both my Go Wear Fit and the Fitbit at the same time. The Fitbit does not show as many steps taken or calories burned as the GWF for a given day. The fitbit numbers are always lower by about 250 calories and 300 ish steps when compared. I don't know which measure is more accurate. I do know that with the GWF it seemed that I was burning a ton of calories vs. my intake and was not losing.( obviously not the fault of the GWF) which kind of led me to believe that maybe the GWF was a little high. The sleep features for both the fitbit and GWF are very close just differ by 5 minutes or so. My opinion is that if you are using the same measure consistently it really doesn't matter , if that makes sense to you. So after all this long windedness- yes I think the Fitbit is worth it.
