<---thanks Robin for remembering her niece and says she is home now and doing better. Tells Robin that her niece is a bit of a bad seed--a diabetic who does not take care of herself AT ALL, who drinks and smokes, has had a couple of DUI's (can you imagine a drunken, diabetic teenager behind the wheel of a car!!!???). <---is very worried about the future of her niece
<---also misses her DH who is having a major, life altering experience in a little Mexican border town, treating sick children
<---congratulate Miss Sophie on her B in math :) :) :) :) and says WAY TO GO SOPHIE!!!!!!!:) :) :) :)
<---stuffed her face full of yummy, crappy food last night and has to walk the straight and narrow today
<---hopes Robin is not too busy to play a little today

<---is LOL at herself because she began her day with the best of intentions yesterday and then the whole day just went to he!! in a handbasket
<---says she ate french fries and chicken tenders from Applebee's that tasted good going down but made her feel icky later
<---had a long talk with DH last night who is blown away by what he's witnessed
<---says they drove him around in a dilapidated van to little towns of cardboard and garbage bag homes that are built up around gargabe dumps, with no running water or electricity
<---says he stopped at one "home" where they used car batteries to power a small black and white TV
<---says people there could not make it to the clinic so he had to go to them
<---says he felt overwhelmed and humbled by the experience
<---says okay, she will shut up now

<---is also thankful for people like her DH and what he is doing
<---has a best friend who was a missionary for years in Guatemala, another who is currently in Thailand and others who have gone an short term mission trips to the Dominican Republic and admires them all greatly
<---tells Shelley <---slept late too
<---forgot to set alarm and slept 40 min later than normal, had to rush to get to work on time, but managed somehow
<---back to the incubator for now
 
<--- is glad Robin made it to work on time
<--- should be cleaning bathrooms but is working shoulders instead:p
<--- finds it hard to imagine the level of poverty Michele is describing
<--- is grateful every minute of every day for what she has and the relative ease of her life
<--- tells Robin not to bake too long in the incubator
 
<---hates it when she sleeps in late, but figures Robin probably needed the rest
<---wonders what Robin is warming in the incubator---on the other hand---maybe she doesn't want to know:eek: :D
<---tells Shelley she can't imagine that level of poverty either. Says she and DH used to treat patients at a homeless shelter, and DH sees alot of impoverished people in his clinics, but he has never ventured out into their territory before
<---'s DH told her that when they realized he was a pediatric neurologist, they were thrilled because they have so many kids with everything from autism to seizure disorders to spina bifida that have never been seen by a neurologist (DH is also a board certified pediatrician and is there in that capacity), so they are sending him out to see kids with neuro problems
<---can you tell <---is proud of her DH:+
<---will shut up now--really--and hopes she hasn't caused eyeballs to roll already :eek:
<---needs to clean bathrooms, too, before things grow in there:eek:

<---says things always hide from her at the mall, but mostly she just needs to lose some weight so that the cute clothes will fit her;(
<---has really let go of herself since she quit the personal trainer but just can't afford a PT indefinitely
<---thinks the biggest benefit of using a PT was the motivation they instilled--plus the fact that you had an appointment to w/o
<---plans to steal away in Robin's suitcase for the trip to St. John:eek: :)
