Colonic Hydrotherapy?

Would these home Master Cleanses be as effective as colonic hydrotherapy?

Has anyone had colonics? If so do you have to fast beforehand, how many days?
Looking into getting this done via a clinic instead of at home with drinks/supplements.
I've done all the research and know the proces just not sure about prep beforehand.

THANKS!

I've looked into colonics, and my acupuncturist has had them done, but there's something that doesn't sit right about them with me. That part of the body is supposed to be a one-way road, and putting liquid into the body there just seems too unnatural (and couldn't it actually drive things in the wrong way?).

In the "cleansing or surgery" booklet (from www.cleansingorsurgery.com ), they recommend a salt water flush (2 tbsp? of salt in a quart of water every morning) instead as a way of cleansing 'from the top down,' which seems like it works more with the natural flow of things. According to them, the saline solution is the same density as blood, and neither the salt nor the water are absorbed by the body, and pass through to clean all the way from top to bottom.

As for fasting and colonics: I think it would be a good idea to time one to happen on the second day of a juice fast, just for it to be less messy.
