CLX Questions

I only have Cathe DVDs and have read lots here about CLX. I went to Chalene's website but didn't find answers to all of my questions. Hopefully some of you can help.

How many days a week does she recommend you work out per week? Does she provide each workout or do you sub in your own cardio?

How long is each workout? Are they all an hour?

Are all of the workouts circuits or just weights or splits?

Are you seeing results?

Any other info I should know before I make my final decision? I have never spent this much money on one series and am going back to work full time next week so I am hoping I would be able to stick with the series.

Thanks for all your help.

Weights three times a week plus one circuit with weights and interval cardio, and then she has another cardio she provides. Most people are adding in another day of cardio for six days a week, and many are subbing in their own cardio. The workouts are very time efficient -- 30-40 minutes I think. The three weight days are just weights, not circuits, and they are set up as an upper body split with leg work every day.

I am in my third week of the first phase and I kept saying I don't have DOMs. Well, I don't know if it's a cumulative effect or what, but I am very sore this morning. It's not like usual DOMs -- I am sore all over! I think it's a bit too early to talk about any other results than that.

The only other thing you should know is that this is probably different from anything you've ever done. If you've tried cardio coach or kettlebells, it's sort of like those in that you kind of have to do it yourself to understand how different it is.

good luck with the decision,

-Beth

Thanks for your replies. Do you repeat the Burn workouts for 4 weeks, then do 4 weeks of Push and then 4 weeks of Lean? I am really interested in this program now but have never seen any clips of hers other than the short ones in her online ad.

Yes, 4 weeks in each phase.

The recommended rotation looks like this

Monday- Circuit 1
Tuesday-rest
Wednesday-Circuit 2
Thursday- Burn intervals/abs
Friday Circuit 3
Saturday- Burn it off/ recharge(yoga stretch)
Sunday-rest

There is a bonus dvd with another version of Burn Intervals, Burn it off/ and abs.
If you like the cardio that comes with the basic package, it's worth the extra money. I would look over the cardio that comes with the basic just to make sure. Some people did not like the cardio. I love it:)

Just want to add that CLX might work very well for you as you transition back to FT work. That is what lured me in[FONT=&quot]—the time-efficiency aspect.

I'm only in week two, so it's too early for me to report any results, but I'm very, very happy with this series so far and find it easy to stick to. The workouts fit my schedule, they're different, I'm working hard, and I'm getting some pretty fierce DOMS.

You can always return them & get your money back if it just doesn't gel for you.

What are DOMS?

doms

That is usually how my muscles work. I don't usually feel the soreness til the 2nd day after any muscle workout I do.

So, if you find yourself with really painful DOMS is it ok to go ahead and exercise anyway? (Obviously I am in that situation today)
