Clothing swaps are cool!!

I just attended my first clothing swap, hosted by a woman who used to do a lot of them when she lived in California.

For those of you who haven't heard of them (I hadn't until recently): everyone brings bags or boxes full of clothes (in good condition) they no longer want, as well as other items they can transport.

Each attendee takes turns showing their items, during which time anyone interested claims the item (if there is more than one person interested, they roll dice to determine who gets it).

After all the items are claimed (or put on a "donation" pile), everyone tries on their items, and puts anything that didn't work for them on another pile, so others can have a go at it.

It was really fun, and I ended up with something like 8 new-to-me tops, 4 pairs of pants, and some household items.

One woman who attended had lost quite a bit of weight, and is now the size of some too-big-for-me clothes I had to get rid of, so if I see her again, I may have a feeling of déjà vu~. :p

Some of the women (it was a women-only thing, except for the host's DH) brought clothes THEY had gotten from previous swaps, so the sharing just keeps on going !

What a great idea!! And quite a fun way to save money on "new-ish" clothes!! I think I might just throw it out there to our neighbors!

That is a great idea, I was thinking of doing something like this but didn't know the "rules", thanks!
