I really have no idea what I am going to do today after my workout (run). How about you?
 
Morning Katie!

Up early with Milla and Nevena. Darrin had to go into work for a bit this am and his alarm woke me up anyway so here I sit. Nutcracker rehearsals on tap today then we're dropping the girls off at my parents' house and going out to dinner to celebrate our 12th anniversary which is tomorrow:) I need to do some cardio today-kickbox or hiit and abs. I also want to get some shopping done. Tomorrow I'm either going to a kettlebell class or going cottage hunting with Darrin and his mom-she's thinking of buying a place up north. Eats yesterday were good til I had a few Skittles :eek: So much for kicking the sugar!

Good Morning Everyone!

I got up early this morning hoping to get a workout in before I left but I feel weak and I have a little pain (very minor - I have had menstrual cramps that were a lot worse). Getting ready to shower and pack to go see my family then back early tomorrow and Chris leaves. Then I can relax.

Katie, enjoy the free time while it lasts. The holiday madness is right around the corner.
Kate, Chris doesn't mind trying new recipes but we have been so busy and his work schedule has been erratic that we have stuck to the basics.
Nina, glad working out is paying off for the muscle def but it is weird that you are suddenly getting comments. Is it the people who don't know you very well?
Angie, I hope you are feeling better today.
Robin, is everyone healthy yet?

good morning. i totally could have slept for hours more, BUT, i got up and had the greatest wo! i did a circuit using the treadmill and lots of pushups and compound moves. ended up 8 miles with some crazy hills. i will be sore tomorrow!

katie, enjpoy your run. my list of things todo today seems insurmpuntable. enjoy a break for me! the comments i get are "wow, you are really strong." or"you work out a lot!" or "you have a lot of definition!"

colleen, sorry for the weak feeling and discomfort. listen to your body. enjoy your family time. yeah, the comments are all from people i do not know, like at dr offices and stuff, grocery store, whatever. just makes me feel weird.

eats will be on track again. i think i will stick with a lot more bw exercises for a few weeks to try to "unbulk". i wish my pull up bar worked in this house. any ideas what i could do? bbiab
 
Hey all, I thought I was feeling better last night. Went to bed around 10:30 and actually slept pretty well and I was so excited when I woke up around 7:30 but then I was just still really tired and anna lay with me for a while but after she left I fell back to sleep. I ended up staying in bed until 1 an sleeping off and on. I don't know what my problem is. I shouldn't be tired but all I want to do is sleep. Hunger is not even getting me up. I'm not hungry at all. I've had toast and apples the past few days and that's about it. My stomach is slightly better today but I still feel really weak (prob due to lack of food).

So, needless to say, no WO. I am hoping by Monday. Tomorrow is the 6 week mark until our cruise.

Katie, hope you had a great run and have a great day. I love your signature with your 1/2 info! I'm so proud of you!

Klaudia, happy happy anniversary! I hope you have a fabulous dinner! Sorry about the skittles. Today is a new day, stick to your guns!

Nina, I think you should take people's comments as compliments. I think being in shape is a great compliment! You work hard for it. Your WO this morning sounds fab!

Robin, hope your computer gets better. Glad you are all feeling better too. WO sounds great!

Colleen, glad you don't have much pain. Take it easy today - you'll be back to normal soon.

Nina, awesome workout! You inspire me to do more intense workouts! And I'm sure you're not bulky! I think it's the skewed perception thing again. We are surrounded by overweight, unhealthy people who see a body that is fit and strong and don't know how to deal with it. Can you do pulls at the park? I do them on the monkey bars:)

Angie, feel better! All that travel combined with a tummy bug isn't very helpful. I'm so excited about dinner-the restaurant has a lean menu that includes an appetizer, entree and fruit dessert for under 600 calories! I'm thinking of trying it:)
 
Afternoon, everyone! I need to get off my butt, but I don't seem to have any motivation to do so. I had a nice breakfast with my friend and her mom. They both like my new condo. Now I'm at loose ends and feeling kind of blue. I have plenty of stuff to do, I just don't want to do any of it. I need to get outside, it's unbelievably sunny and unseasonably warm. I may go for a bike ride or a walk in the woods.

Kl, happy anniversary! Is the restaurant local?

Robin, I hope you feel better soon and your computer gets well too.

Angie, you poor thing! I agree you need to eat some protein, do you have any nuts?

Nina, those comments are great! Don't feel weird about it, it's just your hard work showing.

double wo today - second consisted of 2.5 hrs nonstop cleaning:eek::eek: but it is done, and my house looks sooo nice!! thanks, guys, for putting the comments in perspective. i just have never aspired to look like a body builder. i do not have anyone here who can look at me and give me an honest assessment, you know?

klaudia, have a great time on your anniversary. go to a movie! snuggle together and hold hands and remember dates long long ago;)

robin, sorry for the congestion. take a long steamy bath.

Hi Girls !

Just popping on fast to say that I did 30 min. yoga today. Eating so far is clean.

I haven't read any posts yet, but will get back later to do that and maybe do personals. It's just a busy day of getting things done around the house. We have nice weather too (around 70 degrees) , so maybe we'll get a walk in later ???

Hope everyone's having a nice Saturday :)

JJ is talking to himself and watching dinosaur train on pbs. brkfst is chex with almonds and strawberries and milk. no big plans today but big food shopping trip with dh and making chili for the week and extra for the freezer. such a fave around here and so healthy and cheap! yesterday was super busy, a friends 2yo bday party, i avoided the cupcakes but did not avoid the chinese food they served =(

kl, ITA agree abt being surrounded with unhealthy ppl that dont understand a healthy bnody when they seeone... these are the same ppl who, even now when i am visibly overweight, think i am "obsessed" with working out and eating well. they think i should just be ok with the way i am...just b/c they havent found the focus that i have...dont even get me started...

robin, chest congestion=nofun. did you end up working out?

angie, you def should eat... what about just some dry whole grain cereal or toast

here is toscas baked brown rice recipe. i used a lot fresh oregano and basil instead of thyme because thats what i had. i used a heavy sauce pan with a tight fitting cover so it could go right from stove top to oven.

Ingredients:

8 plum tomatoes, seeded and coaresly chopped
1 tsp unsalted butter
2 tbsp olive oil
1 yellow onion , chopped
2 cup brown short-grain rice 1 tbsp fresh thyme , chopped
4 1/2 cups chicken stock, heated
Coarse salt and freshly ground pepper to taste

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 400 F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil. Season tomatoes with salt and spread out on prepared baking sheet. Roast until the edges of the skins are browned but not burned, 10 to 12 minutes. Remove form oven and set aside. Reduce oven temp to 375 F.

In a dutch oven or large heavy heatproof saucepan with a lid over medium heat, melt the butter with oil. Add the onion and saute until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Add the rice and chopped thyme and season with salt and pepper.

Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until rice is shiny, about 3 minutes. Stir in roasted tomatoes and pour in heated stock, stir, cover and bring to boil.

Transfer to oven and cook covered until liquid is absorbed, 40-45 minutes. (Tilt the baking dish to one side. If rice moves, continue cooking. If rice sticks to top edge of baking dish, it's done.)

Fluff with fork.
 
Morning ladies! Sorry I never made it back here yesterday - I fully intended to, but the day just got away from me.

Yesterday morning I ran 7 miles - I wanted to run 8 but I was STARVING and just could not go on. Today is my rest day but I will do the HPC and some core work.

Collin starts basketball at the wellness center today, and I might take him early so we can swim for awhile beforehand.

We are going to church at 9 am - they call it the "Caffinated Worship" (right up my alley!!). It's a contemporary service and they serve breakfast and coffee. Chris absolutely HATES dressing up, so we are looking for a church service where jeans are welcomed. And free coffee doesn't hurt either! I will let you know how we liked it.

Eats were good yesterday, but I was planning to have a salad for dinner and then some girlfriends called and wanted me to come out with them so I had a chicken quesadilla (clean in my book, it's a very upscale restaurant). My weight is up a tad bit this morning (expected after my dinner last night), but overall I am down about 4 pounds. Now the REAL work begins!!

CHALLENGE - I am committing to NO cheat meals OR desserts until Turkey Day. Who's with me???
 
Good morning (afternoon here),

We are having a pretty quiet Sunday here. I slept relatively well last night but not great. I'm really tired today but going to try to make it through the day without a nap so I can sleep "normally" tonight. I am ready to get back into a normal routine.

So my weight is down and I'm hoping that it gives me a jump start to get to my target weight for my cruise. It's about 4.5 pounds left to my ultimate goal. I hope I can do it.

No WO today - too tired. Just going to give myself one more rest day and then get into it tomorrow.

Wendy, I hope you have a good day. It's strange how people's views are so warped, isn't it? Kinda sad. My nephew loves dinosaur train!

Kate, glad you're enjoying your weekend. Say hi to church for me... I miss it!

Becky, hi! Yoga sounds great and so does your weather. Hope you were able to get out and enjoy it.

Anne, hi! Nice to "see" you. You sound pretty good. Are you getting settled into the new place? Did you get that bike ride or walk in?

Klaudia, that lean option at the restaurant sounds awesome. It seems that otherwise you'll end up with 2000 calories otherwise. I'm thinking of using the "fit" menu on the cruise for a few dinners so I don't go crazy!

Robin, I hope you're feeling better. Congestion is no fun! Get well soon and take it easy.

Well, I'm going to have some lunch. I'm eating more normally today but still don't have a huge appetite. Which isn't a bad thing I suppose. Probably still full from my eating while home!

Good morning!

Had a great time celebrating our anniversary last night:) Eats were decent-I had a little of Darrin's appetizer-sauteed Hungarian hot peppers with sausage and sliced potatoes in a tomato sauce with 2 tiny morsels of bread, a grilled salmon salad with roasted red pepper and eggplant and chevre cheese for dinner and NO dessert! And a skinny margarita;) We ended up going to Target and Kohl's-per Darrin's request! The man wanted new towels-who am I to refuse a shopping trip? I was going to go to a kb class this morning, but was too comfy in my bed in my nice quiet house to move. So I'm going to do a total body workout-probably a circuit while Darrin takes his mom cottage shopping. And a trip to JCP and Ulta-with no time constraints!

Wendy, tht's why I put that quote in my signature. My mom kept telling me I was getting obsessed! She's always been a yo-yo dieter, quick fix (pills) weight loss, and food enabler who is now struggling with a whole host of health issues. I love her but do not want to end up the same way! So keep up the dedication!

Katie, my friends belonged to a contemporary church when they lived down here and loved it! Her husband was a Catholic school boy who became so involved in the new church because of how welcoming it was. Very different-rock band, casual dress, and an awesome kids club that even had a special needs group. I hope it's what you're looking for. I posted that exact same goal on FB the other day! I'm in:)

Nina, I love when the house is clean and I light some awesome smelling candles and sit down to admire my hard work:) And you look amazing-leave the assessment to us;)

Anne, the restaurant was Andiamo. They have several locations in Metro Detroit. Glad you had fun with your friend. When are we meeting for breakfast again?:)
