<----- Clean & Tidy Thursday ----->

CollinsMom

Cathlete
Happy Thursday! Only two more days til the weekend!

What are you eating today? What are you working out to?

Looking ahead to the weekend, what are your plans?

I am really looking forward to the weekend. I am sick of work. I love my job, but I need a BREAK! I can't wait for November -- I get a bunch of days off because the courts are closed (election day, veteran's day, and thanksgiving).

My mom is coming to visit Collin this weekend, but I WILL keep my eating clean while she is around!! I think we may go to a fun Halloween thing for the kids downtown Saturday morning.

My workouts will be as follows: IMAX2 today, Gym Styles BSB tomorrow (Friday), 4DS Kickbox and LB weights Saturday, and probably rest on Sunday.

DF and I just bought several pieces of large unfunished wood furniture, and they need to be sanded and stained and all that. DF loves that crap, but NOT ME! Anyway, I am sure I will have to help with that on Sunday -- yipee!

I really would like to make some time on Sunday to try to learn the new HIS choreography, but we will see....

Today's Menu~

B cereal
S half sandwich
L tuna, crackers, banana
S cheese and wheat crackers
D beef & broccoli, veg. egg roll

Yay! Excited to think about the weekend too! No school for DD tomorrow so we get a jump-start on the weekend! Tomorrow we'll go to the cider mill.....I have consulted my magic ball and I see a fresh donut in my future.....:9 SOOOOOOO excited about my b'day too! I look forward to it like a 5-yo. does!

today:
b - kashi, apple
s - apple
l - salad w/ cuke, g&r pepper, hard-boiled egg whites
s - ??
d - ??

Not sure which w/o I'm in the mood for

Supposed to go to a home interior party tonight. I was going to go sans kids but DH has to work late so we'll see if I go at all. Depends how DD is feeling. I may take the girls out to eat. We've been really busy. I feel really guilty about it and they've been so good.

Hope you all have a MAH-velous day!

Hey Katie! We're on at the same time? What time is it where you are? I've got 5:40 here!

I share your sentiments about your job! Most nights I'm up til midnight working so I don't have to do it while the girls are up. I'm gettin' pretty tired! I think I'd like to take a fam. vaca. during Tk,giving so we don't have to be SO BUSY with all of the family stuff. My folks are divorced and live an hour apart AND we have to go to DDs fam's too.

Good luck w/ mama around! Mine always reverts me back to fat-girl mode.

Good workouts planned. I'm not quite sure about my plan yet.

Have fun w/ the furniture! Just think - all that sanding could be like an upper body workout! I always like to start a project, but it seems like I never finish that kind of thing. I can't even tell you how many times I've started a landscape project and give up 1/2-way thru. We've learned to hire A LOT out!

Can you share your recipe for dinner? Is your egg roll clean/tidy? I miss egg rolls....

See ya!

Morning ladies.

I feel the same way about work and home...I need a vacation.
Egg rolls deep fried is not clean, I wonder if you can bake them.

Good plans for your w/o Katie, I'm going to do the same thing with HIS this Saturday. it's run once your know the steps.

I feel down today.

My w/o Amy's kickbox interval premix.
b- oatmeal
s-100 cal chex mix
l-whole grain pasta and meat sauce
d-BBQ chicken br. rice & veggies
s-?

The egg rolls I buy (already made -- I don't make them myself) I bake -- no way do I deep fry them!! I could think of so many better ways to use my calories than stupid oil!!

I just finished IMAX 2 and showered and I am FRIED -- I am so tired. Grey's comes on tonight too, so I will be up late watching that with our friends. Maybe Collin will let Mommy have a short nap this evening!

Hi,
I thought I better post before I eat another cookie. My DM sent over pumpkin and oatmeal raisin cookies - grains, fruit, beta carotene and some other ingredients.;) I had 2 pumpkin and 2 oatmeal raisin cookies. Time to move on.
I should be able to exercise tomorrow, but no weights until Monday. I can turn my head a little better today. The chiropractor had to make some adjustments.

I like Grey's too. Does anyone watch Private Practice?

Thanks for the support. It feels good just to be able to post. :)

Robin! Sorry you're feeling down today. Work? Hubby? Whatever the reason hope you're doing okay now!

Shirl - ANy chance of a recipe for those cookies?! I've never heard of pumpkin cookies - like I need another kind to like! I was going to make pumpkin bread but I found out I had no pumpkin. Probably a good thing - I'm craving bad carbs really bad. I'm sure I would've eaten 1/2 the loaf.

I've not ate according to plan, but clean anyway. I DID have a scoop of cookie dough. (DDs fundraiser came in. Hey, I had to make sure the quality was good, right?!) Thinking of Monday is keeping me in check for sure!

Still not sure which workout I feel like. NOt a good sign - I need to have one in mind during the day to keep me more motivated. I'll go survey my collection. Maybe I'll take your Imax2 suggestion, Katie. Hope you caught a nap! (Fat chance!)

See ya!

I drank a diet soda this afternoon -- no calories, but lots of other junk that I don't need in my body. I'm gonna blame it on IMAX2 -- I was very sleepy!

Shirl, I like Private Practice too, haven't watched this week's episode yet.

Kate, go for IMAX2 -- I forgot how fun it was, and HARD!

I think will Imax 2 it tonight! I just had a large serving of Kashi and some grapes so I should be all carbed up and ready to go! That is one of my all-time favorite cardios.

Robin - Thinking about you! Hope you're doing okay.

Hope Steph is gaving a great time in England too!

Kate, I'll post the recipe tomorrow. Have fun doing Imax 2!

Robin, Thinking about you too!

Kate, I missed most of PP last night. Did you get a nap in?

Colleen, Hello!

Hi everyone!

A friend in fitness,
Shirl

No nap for me, but thanks for asking!

Kate, I've got a pumpkin cookie recipe -- I think they are iced with 10x sugar -- totally dirty! But yummy!

I love IMAX 2 also, now that I can handle the higher intesity. My knees are screaming at me tonight, though!

Really, your knees?! I'm sure I'm going to pay for it later, but I work out barefoot in my basement. Carpet and pad over concrete. Nothing bothers me so far but I know I do need to start wearing some sneakers.

GIMME YOUR RECIPE FOR YOUR PUMPKIN COOKIES! says the cookie monster!}( :7

Pumpkin Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (I use white whole wheat)
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon salt(eliminate if using salted butter)
1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter (1 stick), softened (I've made it with 1/4 cup butter & 1/4 cup applesauce)
1 cup 100% Pure Pumpkin (I add a little extra)
1 large egg (I've substituted w/2 egg whites)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract(I add a little extra)
Glaze (recipe follows)

Directions:
PREHEAT oven to 350° F. Grease baking sheets.

COMBINE flour, baking soda, baking power, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt in medium bowl. Beat sugar and butter in large mixer bowl until well blended. Beat in pumpkin, egg and vanilla extract until smooth. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto prepared baking sheets.

BAKE for 10 to 12 minutes or until edges are firm. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely. Drizzle Glaze over cookies.

FOR GLAZE:
COMBINE 2 cups sifted powdered sugar, 3 tablespoons milk, 1 tablespoon melted butter and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract in small bowl until smooth.

NOTES:
For a variation add 1/2 cup chocolate chips, raisins or nuts to the recipe.

If you make the cookies with applesauce and egg whites the cookies don't "puff" and hold their form as well but are still delicious.

I hope you like the recipe. :)

Kate,

I can't believe you workout barefoot! OUCH! My sister used to workout barefoot too. I bought her some sneakers for her birthday. Maybe you'll get some for your birthday. Why do you workout barefoot?

A friend in fitness,
Shirl

Why barefoot? I guess getting shoes on just seems like one more thing to do before I get to workout. Plus, the basement is carpeted and I worry about too much friction with turning and pivoting. Lastly, one more thing to spend $$$ on! DH already gives me a hard time (jokingly / lovingly) about all the $$$ I spend on Cathe. He (half joking) calls her a very shrewd business woman!:p I actually have a pair of really nice cardio tennies - I'll try 'em next time and see if I notice a difference. You're probably saying "um, yeah, you will!":)

Thanks so much for the recipe! Any way to get extra nutrients down the kids!

Workout ended up being Bootcamp C&W. I think Kickbox tomorrow.

See ya in the morning!
