Morning girls,

Just finished The Viper. It was a good work out but it definitely focuses more on heavier weights (via ME) rather than the circuit related lighter/quicker weights that I'm used to. WM said I should burn 620 but I only got 540 out of it. The carido was one C&W and one Imax interval and it just never really got going. I liked it for variation though!

Later will be insanity with Ryan. He's home for some sort of holiday. :)

Hope you all enjoyed your holiday weekend!!

BBL!

Morning ladies!! I have not really decided what I am going to do re: weights yet, but I guess I will just wing it this week and then see what my trainer has to say on Saturday.

I have been doing steady state cardio (running) at the lower end of my heart rate range for quite some time, but she wants me to beef it up and push my HR closer to 85%. Off to run some hill repeats - awesome  :p

Morning ladies...no work for me except housework.

I have so many funny stories to tell ya.

Angie I think I love the viper for that reason. I love heavy weights. It's hard to find a good circuit workout. Are you still thinking about getting Chalean Extreme?

Katie You Go Girl!

Funny story
You know that i work in a store well we are suppose to try to keep the store neat so I pick up this red and white fuzzy thing. I thought it was a decoration. The other associate told me it's a thong. The I said WTH is it doing here near the Christmas trees. She said that some lady must have tried it on and just left it there.:eek:WTH !!! So I ran to the bathroom and washed my hands with hot soap and water.

BBL

Another funny story.

One of my coworkers got into trouble because she referred to a women cloths size 4x as a "big woman". So yesterday we was trying to come up with another name for women who wear a size 2x, 3x, 4x,

I came up with the name bodacious women.

robin, you are cracking me up this morning:D hope you have a quieter day today.

katie, sorry, but i LOVE hills. i miss the ones in maine so so much. sigh. enjoy your run.

hi angie - great wo! have fun with insanity later.

i have horrid pms. normally i'd sleep in after my long run, but i knew i would not have a chance to wo later - i have a class i have to take today in the middle of the day, dh is home this am to decorate the christmas tree with us. so, i dragged myself out of bed for an incline tm walk. boring, but effective. also did 20 min of core. hope to do some leg stuff tonight, but it is doubtful. wish me luck keep ing hormones at bay today! bbl

you ladies have me rolling this morning =)

hi katie! have a great run!

angie, lol at ryan getting some kind of holiday!! when we were in france, it was apparently some holiday one day that none of us knew of and the french ppl on the tour were totally offended that we were drinking wine during our picnic... and they were so snooty abt it, we just had to laugh at how indignant they were and wouldnt even explain what the day was. im sure they were calling us rude americans.

robin, lol at the red and white fuzzy thong! im picturing santas beard or something ahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!! glad you got your handswashed. and i vote for calling the 2x + the rubenesque section. when ppl ask wtheck that is just revert to its for big women!

no wo all weekend. why oh why do i shoot mylsef in the foot after an awesome week of workouts? i feel so unable to pull away from dh and family time and errands and such on the weekend to get my wo done. sat am i should have gotten my butt to kb and did not.

JJ has a dr appt today and because of the timing it will be another no gym day (babysitting is onlycertain hours). MUST motivate and get a workout done at home. im feeling like kb so maybe KPC is in the cards for me? going to leave it on my tv stand. hopefully JJ naps when we get back and i can WO and prep for dinner.

last night dinner was roasted pork tenderloin and potatoes and broccoli. i think white potatoes get a bad rap... they are not so terrible for us when not covered in butter, sour cream, cheese....everything in moderation. what do you think? did them alongside the tenderloin (evoo, s&p, fresh sage). i have a whole tenderloin leftover for today since ods ate at a friends.

NINA --- this ones for you =)

how did i miss you there?

sorry you are pms-ing =(

yay for tree decorating!! this jew LOVES xmas decorations traditions... i was so thrilled when dh moved in years ago because i had an EXCUSE to do all that and play santa too. lol. yes, we do a tree. my husband puts the train set out and lights everywhere. i bet the nieghbors are all confused!!

hope i am not offending you or anyone else. i dont make light of whatis a seroius holiday to so many, i just enjoy the non-religious, family-oriented aspects of it is all.

here is a good baked tofu recipe. this is just cut and pasted so if you want to pm me with any q's feel free! i do things a little diff than listed here but this one is a good thorough step-by-step.

Baking tofu gives it a more substantial texture. It can be eaten plain or put into other dishes. This is Terri's method for making baked tofu, which she is kind enough to share with us. Links to three of her favorite marinades. The marinades would work for other things, I think, including non-baked tofu. To save time, you can buy baked tofu and use the marinades. Although alternative is baked tempeh, which is simpler.
Ingredients:
l lb firm or extra-firm tofu (or you can make a bunch at once and freeze some)
Preparation:
To prepare 1 lb firm or extra firm tofu (not silken) for baking, first drain the water off the tofu. Then cut the block into 4 to 6 slices (I do 5, and each slice is one serving). Spread the slices on one half of a clean, smooth (not terry cloth) kitchen towel, which is laid over a terry cloth towel. Fold the towels over the tofu. Place a cutting board over the towel-wrapped slices, and place something heavy (like a cast-iron skillet) over the top. Press the slices for about 20-30 minutes.

Meanwhile, prepare the marinade (see separate recipes, or use your favorite). If you want to make baked slices, simply put the slices into the marinade. If you want to make bite-sized cubes, cut each slice into 12 pieces and put those into the marinade. The longer the tofu remains in the marinade, the more flavorful it will be, but half an hour is the minimum. I freeze the baked slices and thaw them later to add to salad, or to rice and stir-fried vegetables for a quick dinner. For dinner on the night I’m marinating, I do cubes. Usually I will double the recipe and do one pound of tofu in cubes for dinner and another pound of tofu in slices for the freezer. I stir fry vegetables in the marinade after removing the tofu. Of course, if you want to freeze cubes for future dinners, you can do that, too.

When the tofu is marinated, arrange the cubes or slices on oiled cookie sheets and bake in the oven. If you have time, do it at 275-300 degrees for a longer period of time. The slower the tofu bakes, the better the texture. If you don’t have time, do it at 350 degrees for a shorter period of time. When the tofu cubes begins to look dry on top and are browning, turn them over. You may have to turn slices over several times to make sure they are fully baked. The goal here is to bake out most of the moisture, leaving the flavor behind. I’ve never actually timed it, but I’d guess that at lower temperatures, the baking could take 1½ -2 hours. At the higher temperatures, maybe 30-45 minutes.

Morning!

Am I ever sore! Good thing today's a cardio day-hopefully it'll loosen me up. I'm thinking some step, kickbox, or an incline walk on the treadmill-we'll see what hits me when I head down. Back on the regular schedule today-dance tonight.

Angie, I've been trying to use the Workout Manager. It told me my calorie burn for Plyo Legs was 254 calories?! I was thinking it'd be way higher. Supposedly I burned more with MM. I find that hard to believe. So jealous of your time with Ryan. Darrin rarely gets time off:( And now he's taking on side jobs-painting my grandma's house, remodeling his mom's bathroom, etc. that I'm going to see him even less. Stupid economy!

Robin, your retail stories are hilarious! You should write a book!

Katie, those hills will definitely be a plateau buster! And a butt buster too!

Nina, feel better soon! My pms manifests itself in bad food choices, not really pain-not sure which I'd rather suffer. Have fun decorating the tree today:)

Wendy, I find it harder to workout on the weekends too-Darrin being home messes with my routine! Give JJ to his dad and think of it as father/son bonding time;) That dinner sounds delish! And I love potatoes! I roast them with olive oil and some garlic powder-yum!

Nina sorry about hormones. Have fun decorating the tree.

Wendy that's a funny story about the wine drinking. I would have kept on drinking. :Drubenesque...I like that.

Klaudia thanks for the idea for potatoes I brought some for my beef stew and forgot to put them in. Roasted potato dinner tonight.

Eating breakfast now (spinach omelet) and getting ready to workout. I want to do some kickboxing. I gotta get ready for the new cathe workouts. I plan to do 4ds kb and sts chest and back (4 sets of pull ups).
Hmm where is my motrin.

One more story. The reason why I hated working on black friday was because the store was cheating people. The had a 4am door buster for house hold stuff like crock pot, coffee makers, etc. for $12.99. Which was great except it really cost the customers $22.99 because of the $10 rebate. So of course the only ones they could vent to was us the replenishing team. The manager of the store was being nice to us. he ordered lunch....2 day old pizza, chips and cookies.

Robin, when you roast them do it at 450* for about 25 minutes-they get nice and golden brown on the outside (almost french fry like:)). I also cut mine in smaller pieces-helps them cook faster.

Hi Everyone!

I extended my Thanksgiving break so I am off today. I did BM2 this morning, Chiro later this morning then relax time. I can't believe my last day is Friday. Hopefully I can tell my coworkers and employees tomorrow if the word isn't already out. Did some checking on cyberMonday deals and didn't find anything very impressive. Has anyone else found any good sales?

Robin, your stories are too funny. I can't believe people just leave underwear whereever in the store. What if a baby had picked that up?
Wendy, sorry about no workouts. I don't think potatoes are bad for you as long as you don't pile butter, sour cream, bacon and all that nasty stuff on top. Do you want to come to my house and decorate?
Nina, good luck with the pms cravings. I am going through that now. I did not do well yesterday and I am hoping today is better. My problem is that I have no appetite and then all of the sudden I get hungry.
Klaudia, I love roasted potatoes too. ^5 on the DOMS!
Angie, I haven't done the Viper in a while. I will have to put it on my December circuit rotation.
Katie, I hate hills too but since I don't have a treadmill that's the only choice I have unless I want to drive to a track. I hope your hill run wasn't too bad.

Thanks Klaudia.

Colleen good workout. You are right what if a baby had picked them up. I don't understand why the store allows people to try on underware. we don't have that sheet that cover..you know what..in the underware.

I'll check my email for sales.

I burned 396 cal doing 4ds KB(1/2 hour). I can't wait until the new stuff comes out.

Hey all,

Had a nice day with Ryan home. Went on some errands, out for coffee, and did CPR Insanity together. Crazy stuff!

Eats were squeaky today so we're on target!

Robin, your stories are hilarious! Glad you're at least getting a good laugh out of work. That's awesome cal burn for 4DS. I barely hit 300 on those 30 min things.

Colleen, another day off is great! BM2 is awesome! If any of you are interested, Amazon has kitchen aid mixers 50% off! Check it out!

Klaudia, I don't quite get how WM calculates calories. Sometimes it's higher than what my watch says, sometimes lower, sometimes right on target. Sorry about Darrin's work schedule lately. :(

Wendy, did you get your WO in? I find that on the weekends if I want to wo it has to be first thing in the AM or it doesn't get done. Kind of a bummer to get up early though! And, believe me, I know the french can be weird!

Nina, sorry about PMS. No fun! Boring wo doesn't help. Hope you have fun with the tree. WHen does dh leave?

Katie, how was your WO? Day? Busy?

Kate! Hi, are you home yet??

Hi Lisa and Anne!

Night all, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite.

Helllllllo! We got home Saturday night but it's been a whirlwind of grocery shopping and laundry since we got back. We're still on CO-time and sleeping in like crazy! Missed church yday and slept past Gina's bus coming today so I had to drive her.

We had such a good time! I want to go back! I want to move there! WAH! :p

Restarted my fitness regime w/ STS Disk 1 this afternoon. We leave for WDW in exactly 5 months - time to step it up!

GLad everyone had a good Tgiving! I got to read and it looks like it was drama-free for all! YAY!

Yay! I got my workout done despite the desire for a nap. I did 45 minutes of speed/incline intervals on the treadmill going 2.8 miles and burning 476 calories (according to the tm-ha!) Now I need some coffee and a shower and then it's off to dance!

Colleen, nice early morning workout! I bet your bursting with the news! The only good cyber sale I saw was at Ann Talyor-40% off everything. Still too pricey for me though:(

Angie, great job on the eats! Glad you had fun today:)

Welcome home Kate! We almost missed the bus today too! Kids were running like mad!
