CLEAN EATING on a wonderful WEDNESDAY

Well, Isabel is all better but now Gina has it!:eek: Sooooo......cancel all plans for the day and stay home to tend to her. I like staying home best anyway, right? Just wish I didn't have a sick kid! Hopefully it goes thru her as fast as it did for Isabel. And fingers and toes crossed Julia doesn't get it!!!!!

Eats were mostly clean yday. Today should be too.
Hoping for a CS or something during the day today - we'll see how needy my patient is!:p

Hope everybody has a good day!

pooor gina:(:( sounds like what finn and i had last week - very short but rough. sorry for the canceled plans, but your attitude is great, kate.

kludia, thanks for the recipe. i may try a version of that, perhaps in my crock pot!

lisa, congrats on the super loose jeans. that is fantastic. sounds like a treat every now and then is not impinging yourprogress.

swim was so great last night. dinner was a quesadilla for the boys - they loved that. grocery max today and podiatrist for me for a planters wart - fun fun! no swim tonight b/c of the holiday, so we can have a "real" dinner.

wo was long run again this am. i started out so stiff and sore, but after a few miles felt fab. abs and possibly legs later. bbiab

Good Morning Kate & all other C&T Lovelies!

I have a problem - I have gotten FAT. I looked at my race pics online this morning and was HORRIFIED. Then I got on the scale and again was HORRIFIED. It's NOT good, and I am MAD at myself for letting this happen.

Anyone notice how I really haven't been posting my workouts (except for running) and menus lately? It's because I didn't want you to know. I was running, and lifting a *little* but not much. Eats were good some days, terrible on others.

There are 7 weeks until the end of 2009. I am going to lose 10 pounds and complete the 100 push-up challenge. I am also going to work HARD on my mid-section. I want to see my abs!

FF's lower body rotation has always worked really well for me, so I am going to do a modified version of that to start. I haven't done very much strength training for lower body since before my HM training started, so I will need to ease myself back into that. And I want to keep up with my running, and also include some hiit on the treadmill. Here is what I am thinking...
M 30 mins LB, 30 mins step / core
T GS chest and tris / hundred pushups challenge
W Hiit on the treadmill / core
T 30 mins LB, 30 mins step / HPC
F GS back, bis, and shoulders / core
S long run / HPC
S rest

Please keep me accountable!

good morning katie. i am sorry you feel so crummy, but those are great goals. what is the 100 pu challenge? do you really do 100 each day? how many days a week? i would love to try that. i think your goals sound good, BUT, and this is said gently, do you think it is reasonable to lose 10 lbs before 2010 with the holidays and all that? especially for someone who is so fit? it is not like you have not been exercising or anything. your body may have changed, but you are seriously fit. you can run 13 miles! i say this b/c sometimes the number thing can be really stresful, vs a goal of fitness and definition can be more achievable? does that make sense? anyways, just putting in 2cents worth, for what it is worth;)

Morning!

No workout again yesterday:( It's ttom and I feel like such a sloth although I have major DOMS in my legs and butt from Monday's workout:) I highly recommend doing MIS lower body+ B&G bonus, going heavier than Cathe-it's only 35 minutes or so including w/u and c/d but very effective. Today I'm thinking of doing a premix from 4DS-the upper body circuit-it's the cardio from BC and upper body. And I need to hit the grocery store and Target. Got my dad to come watch Nevena so I can go solo:)

Kate, hope you can contain the sickness. As for staying home-me likey too! Darrin wants to go out to dinner on Saturday for our anniversary and I want to stay in-is that bad? I don't feel like stressing about what to wear, etc. I'd rather get take out and watch a movie in my jammies:)

Katie, I'm sure you haven't gotten fat! Maybe just your shape is different? I read an article on www.figureathlete.com that Rachel Cosgrove wrote about the shape of her body after she trained for a triathlon and how different it was from when she was strength training and doing hiit. http://figureathlete.tmuscle.com/article/training/the_final_nail_in_the_cardio_coffin&cr=
I think your rotation looks great! But I agree with Nina, don't put so much pressure on yourself to lose 10 pounds in so short a time and during the next two crazy months. I think just changing your routine and minding your eating will go a long way.

Nina, I want to try a crock pot version too. I'll have to work on that. We have an easy night tonight too so we can have a family dinner too:)

Gotta eat some breakfast and do some housework before my dad gets here!

Morning peeps...is it raining where you are?

Clean eats yday except for doritos:rolleyes:

Kate I'm glad she is doing much better and I know how it can go around the whole house. I sure hope Julia doesn't get it too.

Nina sounds like you have a nice day planned.

Katie you are not FAT!!! Now that being said, YOU GO Wonderwoman
Good idea on your workouts. Are you going to do your own core work or use a dvd. Oxygen (I luv that mag) has a excellent special edition Ab mag.
I agree with Nina losing weight around this time of the year is very hard. How about losing inches instead and tighting up. This can be done by watching what you eat and low sodium meals. You'll be surprise that you will feel smaller by just dropping 5 pounds.

Klaudia good going with DOMS in the legs...that's hard for me to do. Thanks for the articles.

Good news my son does not want the Wii for his birthday. Instead he want a gift card to Game Stop and cell phone (prepaid). I luv him.

Now i'm going to make a new workout card for meso 3, since it's the same workout every week, just different 1rm and reps. My friend "smiley" gave me the idea. I'll post went I'm done.

Class stretch and core workout today.

NIna, Enjoy your family time tonight! Glad the swim schedule is working out for you guys!

Katie, I love your dedication, but what others said....go easy on yourself! I did not see a fat girl that ran that race! 10 lbs would be a lot on you to lose! And in 7 weeks! But if it's support you want, it's support you'll get. I need to shed some blubba as well!:mad: And this bum knee is NOT HELPING the matter!

Klaudia, I like your anniv idea too!:D
Enjy your solo shopping time! Sounds lovely! We need grocs so bad but w/ sick Gina - not happenin'! Dinner should be interesting! Frozen leftover smorgasbord, anyone?!:p

Took us all to the chiro. Got my knee adjusted again adn I'll do my knee exercise in a bit. Sooooo frustrating! BUT it's giving me a chance to focus on some Wo's I wouldn't otherwise do, so maybe a god thing in the long run. All in perspective - at least I CAN workout! Right?!

Going to go do some CS while Ju naps and the big girls color!

Good Morning Everyone!

It is a rainy dreary morning so I stayed in bed. For some reason I am very tired. I think my immune system is trying to fight everything that is going around. I did not work out this morning but I have plyo legs and core max on tap for tonight.

Robin, it started pouring here sometime overnight. Yuck! Are you adjusting your weights up or down on your workout cards?
Nina, my surgery is to remove the reminants of a cervical polyp. I am half tempted to tell them to leave it but it could be another problem so I might as well get it all removed.
Kate, sorry G is sick. I should go to the chiro too but my chiro doesn't like one off's. I hope that when I find a job that my insurance covers me to see my old chiro.
Katie, 10 lbs is very aggressive before the end of the year. Of course I will support you but I just don't want you to set yourself up for failure.
Klaudia, thanks for the workout suggestion. I have DOMS in my legs from running yesterday. I guess I have taken too much of a break from running because I feel it in my glutes.
Lisa, ^5 on the loose jeans. I went out on Columbus and splurged on new clothes that weren't loose.

b: oatmeal w/ almonds
s: 1/2 clif bar
l: grilled chicken salad or 1/2 soup 1/2 salad
s: strawberries w/ yogurt
d: tacos

Hey Robinella! You snuck in on me! No rain here - sunshiney and gorgeous! A beeeyoootiful fall day!
LOL! Glad your son's gifts are easy to obtain for you! I think we're getting a Wii for DDs for Cmas. I have a ton of ToysR Us rewards and we won't have to apy a dime for it! SCORE!
Nice plannin' on your WO's!

Colleen, Good for you for getting some new clothes!
Our chiro doesn't like "one-off's" either!:p Mike is stubborn and only goes in when he's in pain but I like to go every week - or more! We pay a monthly fee and can go as often as we need to. It's only 10 min away so it's very convenient!
Sorry you're feeling yuck. Good luck w/ keeping motivated for a WO tonight! Our evening mojo is sadly lacking lately!:p:eek:
Good plan on your eats! Tacos sounds WONDERFUL!!!!

My indians are restless - better go corral them!

hi guys, dh home today and my dad was over so its been busy all morning. do any of you have the baked brown rice recipe from eat clean diet? the one with tomatoes and oregano? i posted this in OD also but i forgot to write down the recipe before i returned the book, like an idiot...

colleen, maybe your body id asking for a rest day? or maybe you'll feel better for a WO later on!!

klaudia, i have a slow cooker cabbage rolls recipe somewhere i can dig up. def diff from your fams recipe tho, but maybe it will give a good idea of how much liquid, how long to cook, etc. yay for going shopping solo!

kate, how is your little sicko doing? great attitude abt your knee!

nina, i make quesadillas quite often for a quick meal around here, i melt cheese (and whatever else) between wheat tortillas in the toaster oven and then they can dip in salsa and FF sour cream.

katie, take it easy on yourself, please? but that rotation does look awesome.

robin, not raining here. sunny and 50. guess what ods wanted for his 16th? braces!!!!!! lol.

just had leftover baked tofu and green beans and im roasting butternut squash for pizzas later (with goat cheese and sage on wheat, yummy!). really wanted to make that baked brown rice.

ive already just missed my class that i like today, will need to figure something else. am i the only one who finds it harder to wo (and eat well) when my dh is around?).

Wendy, I don't have that recipe but it sounds yummy!
Gina's doing ok ..... school tmrw.:)
DS *wanted* braces! What a trooper! Gina will have to get them and the way Julia constantly has her thumb in her mouth I'm sure she will too. $$$$$$$$$$$
Hope you get your WO!
YES!!!!! YES!!!!! and YES!!!!! much harder for clena eats w/ the hub around! He wants fried chicken for dinner otnight! Lovely!

-
Clean eats (but maybe too much?) and CS done.

I'm loving the extra time w/ Gina today! She is too!:)

kate, glad you and gine are having quality time together. good job with the clean eats.

wendy, you should open a restaurant! i'd love the br recipe if you find it. also the cabbage rolls in the crockpot. i can go both ways with dh around. sometimes i eat more balanced, less snacking when he is here. othertimes i get out more which can lead to more snakcing on bad stuff:confused: do you make your own pizza dough? also, did you cook your own tofu? i love it, but i never cook it myself as it does not turn out right. any tips?

colleen, take it easy if your body wants you to. hope today is a good day.

klaudia, great job with the doms. you still have lots of days left in the week to wo. enjoy your shopping. what are you getting at target?

robin, yea for no wii:)

so, no relaxed night for me. forgot i have a cont ed meeting. ah well, must network. eats are clean, maybe a bit high in cals, but still time for the day to be just right. got my core and some light leg work in. hoping to take finn for his h1n1 shortly, if they still have it in stock!

Kate there is a chiro place around the same area that I drop off my DS. Hmm I may just drop in to check it out. fried chicken for dinner I coming over!

Colleen I think my weights have gone up 2-5 # oh boy.Still working on nov/dec rotation. I'm going to mix meso 3 and kbells.

Nina, Hope the class goes fast tonight!
Good job w/ your wo, as always!:D

Robin, The first bite of fried chicken is good then it's like eeeewwww for me. And the burping that comes later is NOT PRETTY!:p

Kate what type of oil do you use? That happens to me when I use olive oil.

Here an example of my rotation up until new years.

Week 1
Sat long cardio warm up and sts legs and sts core
Sun off
mon kickbox cardio and sts
tues core
wed ellip and sts
thru classical stretch
fri-off

week2
sat cardio warm up- kbells
sun-off
mon- kickbox and kbells (20 min), pull and chin ups
tues- core
wed- ellip and kbells
thru- classical stretch
fri-off

week 3 (repeat week1)
week 4 (repeat week 2)

Robin, Anythig fried makes me burp. And not just dainty lil' "oh whoops!" burps. We're talkin' - I can make a trucker blush kind of burp!:p
And I'm having him pick it up. I don;t feel like making it right now and I don't want my house to stink ilke grease for a week! :p And I'm not eating it!!

Your Wo's look great!

Hey all,

Well, I am home and mostly settled. Still have a few things around the house to take care of but I am feeling pretty well back to normal.

I ate well today and it felt good. WO was cardio & weights. I'm going to do circuits for the next couple of weeks to see how my body reacts.

Kate, what did you do to your knee? Sorry you have sick kids... it's the worst!

Katie, I just looked at your pics on fb. I don't think you look fat at all! But, we are our own worst critics, aren't we? It's all about where you feel comfortable with your body. Most everyone I know tells me I'm "super fit" and skinny and the likes but to me, I still need to lose 5 pounds. Set realistic goals (even if that is 10 lbs) and we will be here to support you.

Nina, have fun networking! Are you still doing insanity? Did you get the shot for Finn?

Robin, your rotation looks good. I'm still kind of tweaking mine.

Wendy, my husband can be supportive sometimes (recently has been wonderful) and other times can be my downfall. Since we started insanity, he has lost almost 20 lbs and he looks awesome! If I can get him to take an after pic, I'll sneak it on here. It's crazy. I think it makes me realize that I have to be determined for myself though - regardless of what others are doing.

Colleen, staying in bed on a rainy morning is wonderful. I hope you are feeling better and can get your WO in tonight. I'm considering downloading plyo legs but right now don't need to spend the money.

Klaudia, go out for your anniversary! You'll have fun once you get there!

Well, it's 10:30 and I want to get up early and work out so I should go to bed. I'm not really tired though so I'll probably just lay there and think...

Have a great Wednesday! :)

kate, yr right about the crazy $$ for braces! ods was trying to be good, asking for his bday (its purely cosmetic for him - spacing in the front, but hes super self-conscious abt it).

nina, i dont make my own dough, just buy from refridg section - but kate does! had a similar pizza at a place in harvard sq (veggieplanet.net) so thats where the idea came from. will def post those recipes when i get a chance =)

robin, i like that rotation! did you decide against core work as often as you were considering before? or is that also part of your sts days?

angie, you must be thrilled to be back!!! congrats to your dh on that wt loss... i am always amazed at how much faster men can lose sometimes!

Welcome back Angie. 20# lost by your DH...he should stick to what works for him.

Wendy I plan to do about 2 or 3 (15min) core work per day.
