Katie, do you miss starting our threads???

Morning gals!

Sorry I never came back yesterday. Our friends actually got back around 4 and then stayed through dinner. It was so nice to have some company and be social and just laugh. I needed it!

Thank you to all of you so much for listening to my little life issues. Thank you all for your support about me and Ryan. I know we just need to talk and be in constant communication. He's so insecure sometimes and I forget that because he puts on this "manly" front and I just don't think about him needing me. I know that our family is going to gain a lot of strength through this experience and come out of it closer. It's hard to see that now though!

Robin, I am planning a trip to a lingerie store (and yes there are plenty here) - I just wanted to lose a couple extra #s before I did that. I'm getting close to feeling more comfortable though. Great job with the kb stuff by the way!!

Anne, awesome job with Imax2! That's me today! :) Those plie jacks will kill you. I might try to squeeze in a stretch max tonight too. That WO is such a killer. :) I am working hard to get 6 workouts in a week. I know it's not a huge accomplishment but I've never worked out 6 days a week for 3 weeks in a row so I'm really hoping to get through the whole month and see what kind of results I get.

Kate, (and really everyone who commented), I think I'm going to do Cathe's Jan rotation next month and that includes GS. I'll see what it does for me. I know I have to ignore the calorie burn but it's hard. Ryan was telling me that burning 500 calories is really nothing in relation to what I eat so I have to just focus more on the general good it does for my body.

Klaudia, ITA on information overload. That's what I have such a hard time with. I honestly don't want to look too muscular - I don't even want to be close to what Cathe looks like but I want definition.

Katie, here's what my test said:
Based on your answers to the Body Type Quiz,

As a Body Type E, your body has trouble building and maintaining lean muscle. Muscle is the primary component of your body that burns calories. The fact that your body has less lean muscle tissue means it can't burn as many calories. Plus, despite the fact that your overall metabolic rate is not as slow as several of the other body types, your metabolism is still not fast enough to keep you lean. The speed of your metabolism is the primary consideration in how your body gains or loses weight. The good news is: This plan will cause your body to gain and retain lean muscle and speed up your overall metabolism at the same time. By increasing your metabolic rate in two ways you can start shedding pounds and reshaping your body very quickly. Once you start eating according to your Custom Eating Plan, you'll begin to increase your metabolic rate and start losing pounds and inches faster than you ever thought possible.

So, what does this mean for me? (I'm obviously not going to join their program...) But how does it mean I should eat/wo? Sorry about your roast! That is so frustrating. I made one last night - it was just OK. Not anywhere near as tender as I wanted it to be. I can't seem to find tender meat here unless it's a filet.

Morris, thanks for the cyber hugs. I know I need to ask Ryan specifically what he needs - the problem is sometimes he doesn't know. He needs what all men need. :p Sometimes I wonder why God couldn't have created us a little more similarly in that aspect!! I am a total stress eater too - it's so frustrating. I can feel it coming on but can't really seem to do anything about it. This group helps me too! Sorry about the issues with your mom. :(

Klaudia, I think a Cathe X rotation could be interesting. I could tell that the X was really a good program when I was doing it but I just got SOOOOO bored with Tony. No fun. Especially the cardio. :(

Ok, so drop off went a little better this morning. Ellie cried all the way there but then when we got there I just started talking to her about how she'd play and what she'd do and then really fast her teacher would tell her I was there to pick her up. Whatever was going on in her little brain, I don't know, but it worked because I took her into her class and she didn't cry. So, that made it better.

End of novel. Must clean.

I'll be back later!!!

Morning Angie!! NO, I don't miss starting the thread (although it would be okay with me to do it) -- I enjoy having something to read when I get here in the morning. I'm not really sure what to say about the results of your quiz, but I can say this.... I believe VERY VERY strongly in heavy lifting. I really do. I do cardio for the endorphin rush and for heart health, and I love a good sweaty cardio session, but heavy lifting is really what my body loves for me to do. It's quite amazing actually. I am excited for you to try the Gym Styles and see what happens -- make sure you take measurements, that's where you will see the difference.

_________________________________________________________

So yesterday was a VERY rough day for me... Crazy busy at work, Collin misbehaved at school, roast was a bust, Collin misbehaved at home, husband came home then left again to fix someone's something, leaving me alone with aforementined misbehaved child.:mad::mad:

BUT TODAY WILL BE FABULOUS!:D I have NO CLIENTS coming in today, LOTS of time to catch up on work, a brief court appearance this afternoon, then when I leave at 4:30, I AM OFF FOR FOUR DAYS!! Lee/Jackson day tomorrow, King day on Monday -- it is GREAT to work for the state!:D

Tomorrow I have a few appts (Dr, haircut), I may go to the running store and get fitted for good running shoes, then home to clean out the garage:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Saturday will be more garage cleaning, which I'm not happy about, BUT when Chris gets home from work Saturday night, WE ARE GOING TO UY A TREADMILL!!!:D:D:D

Here's the one we are getting (we think)...

http://www.soletreadmills.com/details.php?name=F80&gclid=COr4o52zkJgCFQwDGgodtT_4mQ

Okay, better get going or i'll never get my workout it. Be back soon.

Katie, sorry you had such a crummy day yesterday! I hate it when it seems like nothing goes right. How was your Mexican for dinner? I hope today is a better day. The treadmill looks awesome. Ryan would be jealous! :)

Eats have been a little strange today. The girls had frosted flakes for bfast (never bought these in the states!) and for some reason they looked good - they weren't. Wish I just had my granola. Lunch was egg whites with mozz cheese and salsa and a mandarin. WO will be Imax 2. Trying to find something to make in the crock pot with chicken for dinner.

BBL.

Angie, I always throw some chicken in the crock pot with a can of cream of somethingorother soup and cook on low for a few hours and it's yummy! Or you could throw in a jar of salsa, also good! It has been years and years since I ate frosted flakes!

WO was LIC step combos and blasts (1-3), then I added the all-4-blast premix, time was 44:12, 342 cals, avg HR 149, high HR 171. I used an 8" step.

Ooops, I forgot, my dinner was good -- I had a taco salad with beans only. My weight is not up today, so that's good. Gotta love heavy lifting;)

katie, yeah on the treadmill!! i was on mine for a while today, and though i prefer to be outside, i am so grateful - it was 13 below this am!!

angie, glad you had fun with the other family last night. maybe you guys can go visit them? and i think that sounds great to meet your neighbor for tea. also, you will not get big with gs. they are not "that" heavy, there are tons of reps, and an increase in muscle mass will take up less space on your body, if you know what i mean. i weigh the same as i did in high school, but clothes are looser on me due to muscle mass. just my opinion:)

well, i had a rough night with aidan but an awesome workout this am. i did 2 sets of pullups - 7 and 6!!! did abs from squeeze, and ran 7.5 miles. first 30 min was alternating 1 min at 7.2 and .25miles at 8.2. then finished out the miles with a 7.1-7.5 pace. it feels soooo good to run. can you tell i love running?? also, despite the eats in the am yesterday, scale is down. i think i need more carbs in the am and then i do not have them in the afternoon and evening and i feel good. does that make sense? today is a work day for me and i tend to stress eat there, so i will try hard to not do that. i am going to try to leave at lunch to not only get a break, but finish up my upper body for the week - have to do gs tris and shoulders today or tomorrow.

break - egg whites and dry cereal and apple
s - tbd
l-broc, swt potato, tuna
s- tbd
d-pork chop and salad.

sh listened to me vent about my family for a while last jight. he is so sweet!!

Hi everyone!

I am stuck in an all employee meeting this morning. Hope to be back later for personals.

Colleen

Morning all

Angie I'm glad about your DD. I guest she just misses her mommy.

Katie great TM! Free shipping and no tax...even better:D Sorry about Collin sometimes little boys can be a hand full.

Morris you are doing so well with the running. Keep it up.

Colleen try not to fall asleep at the meeting. I know they can be long and boring.

No w/o today except shop max for groceries. My shoulders have a little DOMS. Tomorrow I'll do the 4ds legs and power walking. I can not jog because it causes my knee to swell with a little fluid.:( but I can use my 10# vest and 2# handweights.:)

Now I'm on the fence. Should I buy a heart rate monitor or an elliptical trainer.

Robin, get the elliptical and I'll live vicariously through you! I know Angie and Katie love their HRMs, but the elliptical is my favorite cardio machine. I would get one, but the ceiling in my basement isn't high enough. Enjoy your rest day today.

Katie, sorry about the bad day yesterday. It sounds like today is off to a better start. I hope it stays that way.

Colleen, have fun at your meeting. Ha! I hate those all staff meetings.

Morris, great work out this morning, you're amazing!

Angie, glad to hear you had fun with the visitors yesterday. It's hard to be isolated, but you'll make friends as time goes on. It was so nice of the neighbor to invite you for tea, it sounds like she would be great to practice your French with.

Hi to Klaudia and Kate. Did I miss anybody?

Got up at 6:15 today and did the original Boot Camp. I can't remember the last time I tried it, but it went really well! I had to take a couple longer breaks, but I kept up just fine. Last time I did it I couldn't get through all the tricep dips, but this time I did. I think my strength and cardio capacity are coming back. I don't know what to do tomorrow, how long is that Tae Bo work out, Angie? I just figured it out and I've already worked out for something like 6 hours and 10 minutes this week, so I might do a short but intense cardio tomorrow. Maybe 4DS HIS. I've already done a lot of step this week, though, so maybe I should do KPC. I also have a hi/lo work out from Kari Anderson that's fun, but it's not that hard. Maybe it would be all right to do something a little lighter tomorrow. I don't know, any advice?

Okay, I have to figure out my work day. One of the companies I deal with has completely changed part of their web presence and the part I use all.the.time is not working, so it's messing me up. But I did Boot Camp this morning, so who cares? Right?

BBL

Morning:)

Having a rough go over here-my hypochondria is in full swing and is driving me crazy! I didn't work out again yesterday because I spent the whole day online reading garbage or analyzing every twitch, pain, sensation. I relly need to go to a cognitive behavioral therapist and get this under control. It's going to start affecting my relationships with family and friends-especially Darrin and my parents. If anyone has had experience with this, any advice is appreciated.

If I manage to work out today, it'll be 4DS chest/back, and abs. Eats are ok. I tend not to eat when I'm stressed.

Angie, glad to hear things are better at home.

Katie, I'm the same way. I love weights. I do cardio cause I have to for my heart and endurance. Have a nice mini break this weekend. We have tomorrow and Monday off. Yay on the treadmill! Darrin and I are really itching to get some new workout equipment-gotta get on that!

Morris, good luck with the family this weekend! Deep breaths. Nice run!

Robin, get the elliptical!:)

Anne, I'm leaning toward the seminar. I think we'd learn a lot more. Way to go on BC! I did it a few weeks ago. It's a goodie!

Colleen, hope your meetings fly by!

Kate, where you at?

b-kashi, orange
s-nuts
l-soup?
s-?
d-?

bbl...

anne, yeah on the fitness level. you coud always do the low ang hi intensity drills in kpc - that would be short intense cardio.

colleen, good luck at work today. i hate meetings.

robin, just curious, but a hrm vs elliptical? kind of a big difference in $$$:) go for the elliptical. after all, you know if you are working hard or not. who cares exactly how many cals are burned (sorry angie and katie;))

kate, where are you?

'morning klaudia!

klaudia, you snuck in on me. so, have you always considered yourself a hypochondriac? does your family complain about it? just curious b/c i don't get that sense from your posts. am i msissing something? i hope you feel better . i know working out makes me feel better. good job with the eats. wish i was more like that!

Hey Morris,

I go through phases. I'll be alright for long stretches, then something triggers it and I spiral into bad bouts of it-going to the doctor, scheduling unnecessary appts, agonizing over everything, etc. I've always been a worrier, but in the past few years it's evolved into the hypochondria. We had several deaths in the family and that triggered it, I think. It drives my husband crazy-he's not a worrier AT ALL. He's like if you find something wrong, then you just deal with it, you don't worry about it beforehand-waste of energy. I wish I could be like that! Working out totally heps me, too. I gotta get myself downstairs and just do it. I need the endorphins!

Klaudia In today's world we all need to be a hypochondriac IMO. Every thing in the grocery stores can be full of bacteria. I'm not a hypochondriac but I did work in a micro-lab once. Just watching the news will make you a little scared of sickness so don't blame yourselve. Keep a journal of your aches and pain and note the time and day. It may be seasonal.

I was thinking of an elliptical with a HRM. The website that Katie gave us has nice ones. Since my knee is not getting any better and won't allow me to do what I want, I need another form of non-impact aerobics.

Anne so many choices :D. My vote KPC. I'm saving that w/o for STS. In fact I have 4 w/o saved for STS rotation. By the time the STS comes I will have a dozen other w/o that will need to be done.

You sound so stressed out, you poor thing. Take a deep breath. I don't have any advice, but I know when I exercise regularly I'm much better at handling stress. And, I like Robin's advice to keep a journal. It would help you put things in perspective.

Morris, cold where you are too, huh? It was -4 when I was done working out this morning. You must be in the midwest, too.

I know Kate had a two hour school delay this morning, but I wonder where she is?

Katie, I'm jealous of the 4 day weekend, I only get 3. But, shhhhh, don't tell family we're off on Monday. We're keeping that tidbit to ourselves.

Okay, I decided to do the first 35 minutes of KPC and segment 2 of Stretch Max tomorrow. Angie, I hope that's okay. I'm going to have to figure out some things for next week, too, as I don't have Cardio Fusion, Circuit Max or Cardio Kicks. I'll do something, tho, don't worry!

Okay, back to work, I'll check back later.

anne

Hey girls!

I just finished my workout-4DS chest/back and the w/u, c/d, and planks from SH C&B. Having lunch now-piece of deli roast beef and minestrone soup. Snack was pretzel crisps and a piece of string cheese.

Thanks for the shoulders. I think I am going to get a journal. I need to figure out what sets me off. I'm going to set up an appt with atherapist, too. It's time. I do feel much better now that I've worked out. I suppose if I were dying, I wouldn't be able to match or go heavier than Cathe, right?:) Have to go pick up Danica from school in a bit and take her to dance. I'm thinking rotisserie chicken, steamed broccoli, and roasted potatoes for dinner.

Ou est-tu Kate?

klaudia, journaling is a good thing, for sure. also, a hterapist may be just perfect. i strated seeing someone when i could no longer shoulder my parents isssues. it is helpful. great workout!

anne, enjoy kpc!

robin, do you like swimming?

i did tris and shoulders at lunch. i did the gs bis 2x on tuesday, but rather than my bis being sore, the front of my shoulders is really tender. what is that about?? eats are going pretty well. i just keep wanting to ick and pick

Hey ladies,

Late night check in for me. Kids are in bed, toys are cleaned up, etc.

WO was Imax 2 today. The HR monitor is interesting. I like wearing it primarily for the hr watch but the calorie count is intriguing (even though I know it doesn't really matter). I did this WO 2.5 weeks ago and recorded 504. Today I recorded 431. Weird. Anyway, I love that workout - it goes by so quickly!

Anne, do whatever WO your little heart desires. I just threw tae-bo in there b/c I don't do the running ones that Cathe puts in b/c I have no treadmill and I WO during Ellie's nap. I think your choice for tomorrow is a good one. And, whatever works for your substitutions next week is fine by me. I have all the WOs but I've only done DM and LIC and have only done both once! So, it should be an interesting week for me. I'm specifically scared of Imax 3.

Klaudia, (((HUGS)))!!!!! In my semi-professional opinion (psych major here), seeing someone sounds like a good decision. Hypochondria can get out of control so quickly. The sooner you do it, the better things will be. I can imagine it's so scary though. I'm glad you got a good WO in and it made you feel better though!

Morris, you amaze me with your early morning WOs after being up with a baby all night! I don't know how you do it but it's inspiring. I'm glad you like to run. I used to love it. Ran all the time in college but then injured my knee and have never been able to get back into it. I'd love to run a marathon someday but I'm just not sure it's in the cards. :(

Robin, that's exciting that you're going to get an elliptical! It sounds like you have good ideas planned for your STS rotation. I'm really anxious to see how all of you like that! There's always something new to buy, isn't there?

Katie, great WO this morning. I'm still too new to Cathe's WOs to mess with the premixes and such. I'm glad they're there though b/c I'm sure I'll want them down the road. I ended up making a creamy chicken noodle soup that my mom makes. It's so delish (not in the crock pot) and is prob one of my FAVORITE meals. It's not clean or tidy (hence the "creamy" part) but is wonderful nonetheless.

Kate!! Where are you? Hope you're OK!

Time to watch some 24. Sweet dreams.

angie

Another quick check.

Angie, I'm only going to do half of IMAX 3 next week, that will be enough for me. I'll be doing Drill Max and LIC for the first time, so it will be an interesting week! Your dinner sounds delicious. I love creamy stuff...

Morris, has the family arrived yet? We'll be thinking of you.

Klaudia, I almost told you to start seeing a therapist, but then I decided that was too bossy and judgmental. It's helped me a lot, tho, DH and I have been seeing someone since July. They won't necessarily tell you things you don't know, but help you remember that you know them, do you know what I mean? In any case, it's been very helpful to me, not only in my relationship with DH, but with other people in my life, too (read: my crazy sister y'all haven't even heard about. I can't even talk about her to you guys because she makes me so mad and I get all worked up again).

Okay, gotta run, but I'll try to come back after work.

anne

hey everybody! thanks for the concern!
im just having a down day. seems i cant ever get anything done.
spent lots of extra time w/ isabel today - coloring, puzzles, baking. i feel bad for her - it cant be fun being holed up w/ me and j all the time. so i tried to forsake everything i had to do (laundry, cooking, etc) to dote on her for the day.

eats are good and im lifting for 2 hrs tonight - need to clear my head.
