Circuit Max tried to kill me

I did this one today and it totally tried to kill me! It's amazing how good Cathe's workouts are! I keep arguing with her when I don't want to do anymore. My heart rate was definitely up there.
 
This is a creeper workout! Whenever I do this I think it's going to be easy and then it CREEPS up on me! I did this a couple of weeks ago having forgotten what a great workout this is (and challenge)!

Gosh, I haven't done this one in soooo long...I remember it as being pretty darn tough!! I really need to get this one going again!
 
I think this one is just as tough as the Imaxes. Honest. But I don't do it as often. I don't know why. I think I'll do it as one of my tough cardios next week. Thanks for reminding me. This is a really good one.
 
In her Jan/04 rotation Cathe had us do Circuit Max then CTX Step & Intervals. Now THAT was a workout to anhilate (sp?) the Christmas turkey!!

I did this one yesterday and yes, it is a killer. It really does creep up on you. The intensity is definately there. I am sore from it today but just my upper body from all the arms in the hi/lo section.

I used the same weights that she used except I used eight pounds instead of five for the standing leg extensions with a hammer curl.

It is hard for me to do the planks with straight arms because it makes my wrists sore, so when she does the straight arm planks, I do them with either a bent arm or flip over and do my own abs.

I think Step Fit is pretty intense too, but I dont see many comments about it here.

wah ha ha - your subject got me chuckling! i TOTALLY agree. you don't think it's going to be hard, it's an older one, when WHAM! gasp gasp - need air - water - slow down! ;)
 
It's all the darned lunging and squatting she sneaks in there while doing bicep curls, tricep extension, etc. And there she is just smiling away -- "oh...we've done a hundred lunges on this side, hmmmm...well, I guess we have to do it to the other side too"! DARN!

I don't think I've ever made it through this one without modifying. By the time the tricep extension part rolls around, I've had it with the lunges. I end up doing the arms and just step-touching instead of lunging. This is definitely one of the hard ones for me!

Oh!!! That was funny!!! I was reading a post on IMAX and someone said there were 64 plyos in it and one interval had about 40 jumps and it just kept listing all the horrid moves like tuck jumps and air jacks...scissors...and my jaw just dropped. I love her but she has a sadistic streak. Particularly in her older workouts. I love my IMAX2, thank you. Particularly since the DVD allows me to skip any interval I wish. An option CMAX doesn't give me.

Here's that IM breakdown from the post I mentioned:
The number of plyo-jacks in Interval 4: 48.
Plyo-jacks in Interval 5: 16.
Total number of plyo-jacks in IMAX: 64.
The number of jumps in Interval 2: 64.
The number of power-scissors in Interval 8: 48 single count; 4 four-count; 8 two-count.
The number of airborn jacks in Interval 10: 16
The number of tuck jumps in Interval 10: 16
 
i just got this dvd right before thanksgiving along with 4 others.. so i've had lots of new workouts to do....

this morning i finally got around to circuit max.. i really liked it! not as intense as bootcamp or the terminators.. but still a lot of fun!

i had no problem at all keeping up with cathe! woo hoo! i guess i'm an animal! lol!

It is always easy the first time. Dont know why its that way, but it was for me too. Wait until you do it again! Come back and tell us how you liked it then!

Ditto, Madonna!

I just did it for the second time yesterday, and it was definitely harder than the first time. I guess it's because you can put more into it when you know it better. I don't have BC or Terminator. . .yet;). I'm sure Circuit Max isn't as hard, but it's certainly a respectable workout! I loved it--it's soooooo fun and times just flies.
